It's not because the ingredients are bad, but it feels like alcohol on a wound. However, the soothing effect is amazing!) As someone with combination skin prone to large pores, blackheads, and excess oil on my nose, but rarely gets big pimples, I've been using this product for about 5 years, finishing a bottle every month. I'm writing this review with a heavy heart as it's becoming difficult to purchase even through international shipping...
ConsNot recommended if you: - Dislike products that cause a tingling sensation - Are sensitive to alcohol scents or strong fragrances - Can't tolerate products that sting if they get in your eyes

First off, the quantity is overwhelming. Although it's originally designed for spot treatment, given the military restrictions on personal items and my face being on acne alert all over, applying it to my entire face worked well for me! It seems to control oiliness, and I think it's a product with a good overall balance - no tightness and great for soothing. I would apply multiple layers, and on sweaty afternoons, I'd wash my face with water and reapply. It was fantastic! While it doesn't excel in any particular area, it's not lacking either. It's a satisfactory product that doesn't cause any issues and should meet most people's needs.
ConsThe scent that hits you as soon as you open the lid! I got used to it over time and even came to find it okay, but it's strong enough that people around you can smell it right after application. They say it smells like rubbing alcohol. When you apply it, there's occasionally a stinging sensation that feels addictive, but I don't think it's good for the skin. This could be the biggest drawback for those with sensitive skin.

It's definitely been effective in calming my blemishes and getting rid of those pesky bumps. I'm seeing great results! Plus, I got it on sale through Hwahae, so I'm happy with both the price and the amount.
ConsThe alcohol smell isn't particularly pleasant when applying. Also, when I put it on my face, there's a sudden burning sensation that stings a bit, which is uncomfortable. While the effectiveness is good, these aspects make me hesitant to use it.
TipIt works well if you apply it with a cotton pad, focusing on areas that need extra care!

Quick results when applied briefly to blemish-prone areas 2. Seems to have a cooling effect
Cons1. Can be irritating 2. Leaves skin feeling dry after application 3. The alcohol scent is overpowering 4. Limited effectiveness on small bumps
TipThis product seems more suitable for those dealing with inflamed acne or pimples rather than those with textured skin. It might be too intense for all-over face application

When you gently dab it with a cotton pad on areas where blemishes are starting to appear, they calm down by the next day!
ConsThere's a slight tingling sensation, and it has a faint antiseptic scent. However, it's not bothersome.

He uses this as a disinfectant and says it stings briefly but then calms his skin, which he likes.
ConsWhile my husband likes it, I'm worried it might disrupt the skin's moisture balance. I also tried it as a disinfectant on extracted areas, and it really smells like antiseptic. Even when I applied a tiny bit near my eyes with a cotton swab, it made my eyes water.
TipDabbing it with a cotton swab on extracted areas does help calm inflamed spots a bit. I use it only for spot treatment rather than all over, and use a different toner for general use. It seems good for targeted disinfection.

The generous amount will last a long time, but I almost wish I'd bought another. (Though it's wise to just get one at first, right? There are so many skincare options out there, after all.) The soothing effect is incredibly fast. Before using this, my face was constantly breaking out with acne, blemishes, and even eczema. While it hasn't magically cleared everything up yet, the redness has significantly decreased. Recently, I'd feel my skin tingling, like something was about to erupt, or I'd find myself unconsciously touching my face due to existing blemishes. That urge has disappeared, which is remarkable. Yesterday, I only got 4 hours of sleep and thought my skin would look terrible. But even after applying makeup and going out, using this product completely calmed my skin. The Hwahae Testers weren't exaggerating about this one!
ConsThe alcohol scent is indeed strong, as I'd heard, and it does sting a bit when applied. But surprisingly, I actually like it. The medicinal smell makes me feel like it's disinfecting and healing my skin. The initial sting quickly fades, leaving a cool, refreshing sensation. Lately, my skin has been acting up, even oozing in places, leaving me feeling uncomfortable. This product seems to make all that disappear, leaving my skin feeling fresh and clean. While many advise against using it on dry or sensitive skin, it seems to work well for me despite having both those skin types. I guess the ingredients just agree with my complexion.
TipSome people say this product can be drying and recommend layering other moisturizing products on top. I have dry skin too, so I tried that approach. However, I found that using this product alone actually gave me faster, longer-lasting results and left my skin feeling wonderfully light. If you're applying makeup right after, you might want to add a richer product. But for soothing your skin at home, I find this works best on its own. Then again, my super sensitive skin tends to react when I mix products, so that might be why I prefer using it alone. Everyone's skin is different, after all!

It's quite remarkable that despite containing alcohol, it doesn't dry out my skin at all... That's why I apply it to my entire face. Above all, I find its blemish-calming and pore-tightening effects to be exceptional. Thayers toner is my holy grail. I highly recommend it for those with oily or combination skin. For those with dry skin, I strongly suggest an alcohol-free toner~ This one is truly non-drying and wonderful.
ConsWhile there are no real drawbacks, I wish the packaging could be improved a bit. The scent is slightly reminiscent of antiseptic...
TipSoak a cotton pad and place it on areas with visible pores. If you apply it to blemishes before bed, they'll be gone by morning. It quickly calms redness and itching too.

ConsAt first, I was worried it might not suit me due to the alcohol scent and tingling sensation. However, as I continued using it, I became more satisfied with its refreshing feel rather than the initial discomfort.

Even after getting extractions and skincare at the clinic, it was only temporary relief. Stress-induced milia appeared too, making things worse. For 5 years, I tried every acne product and visited dermatologists, but nothing improved. When I started working at a skin clinic, the esthetician did extractions and exfoliation, but this time it led to infections and scarring. I finally started antibiotics, which helped with the infections, but the milia persisted. Since I couldn't use sebum regulators with antibiotics, and at my age using them incorrectly could cause wrinkles, I prioritized treating the infections. After two weeks of antibiotics and using the clinic's skin emulsion, the alcohol content caused deep dryness. A friend recommended Centella from Dongkuk Pharma, but the cream felt too heavy and seemed to clog my pores. I opted for the lighter Centella moisturizer instead. Now, I cleanse with Avène, spritz Celius Rose Petal on damp skin, apply the Centella moisturizer, then soak a cotton pad with Celius Medicare and place it on my blemishes for 5-10 minutes. This calms inflamed acne, and I dot the Centella cream on scars. My skin is finally returning to its former glory!
ConsWhile it doesn't prevent new milia from forming, when they do appear, immediately applying a soaked cotton pad helps them subside. One downside is that it can sting if used too close to the eyes. Those who dislike a warming sensation might want to avoid it. The scent is similar to antiseptic, so those sensitive to smells might pass. But I endure it for the sake of my skin because the difference is visible the next day!
TipUnlike toners with alcohol that can cause dryness, this one contains aloe. It sits on the skin like a mask, calming blemishes, and when patted in, there's no tightness. After masking, applying the Centella cream all over felt heavy, so I just dotted it on scars, which have almost disappeared. For those with cystic acne, I recommend getting a prescription for acne antibiotics from a dermatologist. While medication isn't ideal, there's a limit to what cosmetics alone can do. I haven't tried sebum regulators myself, but for those in the early stages of acne or without cystic breakouts, controlling sebum might be beneficial.
