  As an exfoliating essence, it felt pretty decent for those tiny bumps on my skin.

  Pros

  The texture is light like an emulsion, and I love that there's hardly any scent. I've really struggled with tiny blemishes and tried every highly-rated skincare product out there, but this one is non-irritating and incredibly effective. Now I only get the occasional pimple. At first, I applied it day and night, and after about 6 months, it was like my skin had been completely renewed - my complexion looked different. Now I only apply it at night, and I don't get blemishes. One time I got careless and didn't use it for two days, and a pimple popped up. It really made me realize that if you don't manage dead skin cells, your pores can get clogged and blemishes appear. I wonder what I would have done if I hadn't found this product. I've been using it for over two years now.

  Cons

  For the first 3 months of use, it stung so much that I considered throwing it away. But I persevered because I could feel it managing my dead skin cells and reducing blemishes. However, with the renewed product, I don't feel this effect at all. When I apply makeup over it, it pills. And if I use a pore primer on top, it pills even worse, like dirt coming off my skin.

  The scent is pleasantly mild and it absorbs well. It gently exfoliates dead skin cells daily without irritation, making you want to use it consistently until the very end.

  Cons

  It doesn't absorb particularly well, which can lead to some pilling when applying makeup. The results aren't immediately dramatic.

  For best results, use it alongside other products from the Effaclar line, such as the toner and essence.

  Pros

  I bought this after hearing it's good for small blemishes, and I'm currently using it. While I can't say it's dramatically eliminated them, I have super sensitive skin and this seems to definitely reduce the appearance of those tiny bumps!

  Cons

  I use this with the duo, but I can't use it in the morning... No matter how much I pat it in for absorption, when I apply foundation, it pills like crazy. I'll stick to using it only at night...

  Pros

  Since I couldn't find a suitable replacement, I continued using it and it doesn't seem to trigger more blemishes.

  Cons

  This product doesn't play well with certain toners or cosmetics. I'm not sure which ingredient is responsible, but when used with Kiehl's Blue Herbal Astringent or some foundations, it creates a peeling effect similar to using an exfoliating gel (though it's not actually dead skin cells). Of course, this might not happen if you let it absorb completely, but during busy mornings when you're quickly applying products, it can be disastrous. As a result, I only use this product in the evening.

  Tip

  Don't use it with Kiehl's Blue Herbal. It turns into an exfoliating gel.

  When I first used it in summer, I noticed my skin became silky smooth

  Cons

  However, about a year later when I started using it again in summer, it seemed like my skin couldn't absorb it well, and it pilled like dead skin cells. I'm not sure if it's because I changed the essence I use with it or if my skin has changed. It probably won't give the same results for everyone

  A product I've repurchased dozens of times over seven years. My holy grail. There's a clear difference in the appearance of small blemishes when I use this versus when I don't.

  Cons

  Skin becomes more susceptible to sunburn if used before going out. Often pills when layering other products on top. The ingredients are not great.

  For best results, apply immediately after toner
