It calms my skin quickly. When I apply it before bed, my skin feels smooth the next morning. The downside is the high price. I wish it were a bit more affordable. - in******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 26, 2020
Hands down the best product for blemish spot treatment! As someone with acne-prone skin, I've tried many spot treatments before, but Effaclar AI is truly exceptional. The scent isn't irritating, it absorbs well, and it quickly calms both large and small blemishes overnight! It also includes brightening effects, so it helps reduce pigmentation while soothing the skin. For larger blemishes, you can noticeably see them shrink after just 2-3 days of consistent use! I usually apply a thick layer before bed, but when used consistently for more than a day, it can cause dead skin cells to build up in the treated areas. For best results, I find it most effective to complete your skincare routine up to the toner step, then dot on a thick layer of this product before going to sleep. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 4, 2020
I love how it leaves my skin feeling fresh and not greasy at all It might be due to the product's active ingredients, but I notice some pilling after application, almost like dead skin cells rolling off - rm******Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 2, 2020
Although I've only been using it for about 10 days, compared to my previous product, it definitely feels like it's calming my skin Since I haven't used it for long, it's hard to find any drawbacks yet - 6b********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 3, 2019
One day my skin suddenly flared up badly, but I applied this before bed and miraculously, by the next morning, almost all my blemishes had subsided. It was incredibly surprising! I highly recommend this product. If you apply the essence too thickly, it can have the side effect of making your skin turn red. So remember to apply it thinly and sparingly! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJan 23, 2019
I've probably used about 15 of these so far. They definitely help control dead skin cells, which has significantly reduced my blemishes. While it's quite affordable when purchased from overseas, it's quite expensive in Korea. It's best to buy in bulk when ordering from abroad! - ma******Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 5, 2018
I'm using this for its reported effectiveness on milia and redness. My redness is quite severe, and even treatments at dermatology clinics didn't seem to help much. My dermatologist recommended using K cream, which is why I'm using this product. I generally trust La Roche-Posay as I've tried other lines from them before. The texture is a refreshing emulsion - initially, it feels too rich to be called an essence, but it absorbs quickly. I usually apply it as part of my evening routine after essence, and when I wake up the next day, I notice that small blemishes seem to have calmed down a bit. It's not an overnight miracle, but with consistent use, it really helps improve skin texture. Above all, I love that it comes in a tube, which is more hygienic. Since it's not a plastic container, it becomes a bit inconvenient to store upright when you're nearing the end of the product. Other than that, I don't see any downsides to the product itself. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 25, 2018
La Roche-Posay products all have a great feel. They absorb well and leave the skin feeling soft and smooth. In my personal opinion, it doesn't quite live up to its claims. For blemishes, I found Effaclar Duo+ to be much more effective. As for dead skin cell removal, I'm not entirely convinced... For exfoliation, I'd recommend Dermalogica Microfoliant, BHA products, or Differin. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAug 13, 2018
I have very oily skin with redness, allergies, and when my skin condition is poor, I get small bumps and enlarged pores. Unfortunately, there were no positive aspects to mention. This product causes extreme pilling with makeup. Compared to other cosmetics, it's incredibly divisive depending on skin type. If you have skin like mine, I'd strongly advise against using it. After just two days of use, my skin reacted terribly and broke out horribly. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAug 2, 2018
It seems to have a calming effect on blemishes. Recently, due to lack of sleep, I had a couple of spots around my nose and forehead, but they've gone down after using this. It stings so much when applying! After using this, my T-zone and cheek areas became even more inflamed and broke out. I personally don't recommend it. I've always trusted La Roche-Posay products, but because of this one, I had to visit a dermatologist who said it was an emulsion allergy... They warned that people like me without acne might actually experience more breakouts if they use this.
