Among lipsticks with great ingredients, this one stands out for its attractive price point and excellent color payoff. Usually, lipsticks with good ingredients tend to have weak pigmentation, feeling more like a slightly tinted lip balm. However, this product rivals regular lipsticks in terms of color intensity. The application is smooth and moisturizing, with a surprising amount of staining power. Of course, don't expect the same level of staining as typical tints or lipsticks. The 'Sunset' shade appears as a dark reddish hue in the tube, but when applied to the lips, it transforms into a pinkish red, making it particularly flattering for cool-toned individuals. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a pink-tinted red lipstick with beneficial ingredients. Due to its moisturizing texture, this product might slightly disappoint those seeking a matte natural lipstick. There's a certain chic vibe that comes with matte lips, and it would be great if Nature's Friend could release such a version in the future. Tip for a matte lip look: Apply the lipstick, then gently blot your lips on the back of your hand to remove excess oil. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinJan 27, 2021
I mentioned this in my review of the peach shade too, but I used to have a terrible time with lip products causing excessive dead skin cells, leading to painful picking and irritation. Since using this, those issues have significantly decreased. When I ran out of lip balm, I'd use this at home as a substitute - it's gentle and doesn't cause any blemishes, so I used it frequently. The ingredients are truly excellent, and the color payoff is fantastic. It applies matte but still has a bit of hydration, making it perfect in every way. Layering the sunset shade with the peach shade is even better! The packaging is also beautiful! There's honestly nothing to complain about. I think it's top-notch in every aspect! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 23, 2019
The ingredients are great. It's very hydrating. It comes off easily. (I like products that cleanse well, but this one wipes off even with just a tissue...? I'm not a fan of products that feel too much like lip lacquer... haha...) The staying power isn't great. It fades unevenly. It tends to get that 'yogurt effect' (cracking and separating). There's a slightly oily feeling to it. When it solidifies, it becomes a bit like a crayon. After using it for a couple of months (definitely not 6 months, more like 2 months), the surface starts to harden? It still applies, but the absorption isn't great... It goes on patchy. I bought this lipstick solely based on the ingredients! The formula gets a perfect score. While I didn't do this myself, I think it would look prettier if applied with a brush rather than directly. I think it's worth trying at least once. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinDec 11, 2018
This is my estimate for a deep undertone shade. I bought it along with the peach color. I chose 'Sunset' instead of 'Peony' as I thought it would look a bit warmer, rather than having a pink tint. When applied to my lips, it's exactly the red hue I was looking for, which I absolutely love. It's moisturizing, absorbs well, and the color payoff is definite. It completely shattered my preconceptions about cosmetics with good ingredients. This is definitely one to stock up on. For reference, in the photo, I've swatched each color three times from top to bottom: Bom Bom Yeonji 'Sunset' - MEFŌ L400 - rom&nd 'Something'. Although not pictured, it feels like my favorite rom&nd 'All That Jazz' with an added touch of red! There's not really anything to complain about. Even by my standards, where lip products tend to disappear quickly, this doesn't have inferior staying power compared to other products. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 27, 2018
I absolutely love the ingredients! I bought this along with the peach shade, but while the peach one seems a bit matte and accentuates dead skin cells, the sunset shade feels more like a lip balm? It's a bit more hydrating!! I plan to use these two exclusively for a while. The only disappointing aspect is its staying power! It tends to come off easily when drinking coffee and such, but that's the only drawback~~ When you layer the sunset shade under the peach one, the colors blend beautifully and look even prettier!! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 13, 2018
1. Color/Pigmentation It's a slightly muted rose shade. The color is absolutely gorgeous and suits warm skin tones beautifully. 2. Longevity While it's not ultra long-lasting, the staying power is quite decent! 3. Hydration Some lipsticks can be extremely drying, but this product keeps your lips moisturized. It tends to accentuate dead skin cells a bit. Honestly, I can't find any other drawbacks! I recommend gently exfoliating your lips and then applying a lip balm before using this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 14, 2018
First off, I love that I can use this with peace of mind due to its great ingredients. It absorbs well and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. The color is absolutely gorgeous too! Unfortunately, the scent isn't great. It smells a bit like crayons. Also, the staying power isn't very impressive. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 12, 2018
I feel reassured using this since it's free of harmful ingredients. It applies smoothly and moisturizes well without staining the lips. The color looks natural too. I wish it came in a wider range of colors and had longer-lasting wear. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAug 2, 2018
The ingredients are great and I love the color. It's quite hydrating, which makes it comfortable to use. I'm still not sure about it. If it goes on sale, I might want to try other shades. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinMay 28, 2018
The color payoff is exactly as you see it! I have a dark warm complexion, and it's moisturizing so there's no emphasis on dead skin cells. I'm really enjoying using it! The downside is that, being a moisturizing lipstick type, it doesn't last as long as a tint would. It comes off more easily. However, it does leave some color on your lips for a while.
