- Aveda's signature herbal scent is pleasant and not overpowering. The subtle fragrance lingers all day, improving your mood. - The lightweight oil formula absorbs well without any sticky feeling. - The packaging allows you to use every last drop cleanly. - The price is exorbitant for the amount you get, and the ingredients aren't particularly impressive. - The hydration is insufficient for extremely damaged hair (the formula is too light). - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 29, 2020
I'm heartbroken that it's been discontinued, but I'm so glad I stocked up before... Just one drop mixed with my Repair serum is an absolute dream combo. It was simply amazing... It's discontinued... This was really great, but even if I write a review... no one can use it anymore... That's just too cruel... Mix just one drop with your usual essence when your hair is damp. Your hair will feel reborn! - di*******Combination SkinRecommendedSep 11, 2019
As a professional designer, I can say this works wonders on thin, dry hair. It tames flyaways without making your hair feel stiff. While the aroma scent might be hit-or-miss for some, it's far superior to synthetic silicone essences for those with damaged hair these days. I wouldn't recommend this for those with thick hair. Given the small quantity, it's best not to use more than five drops at a time. After applying, use any remaining product on your hands to smooth down the outer layer of your hair. This really helps to control those pesky flyaways. - ha*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedMay 20, 2019
This is a product I absolutely adore! When applied to dry hair ends, it makes them incredibly moisturized. The aroma scent is also very soothing. The ingredients are a bit disappointing. There are quite a few potential allergens, unfortunately. A little truly goes a long way with this product. If you get overzealous and apply too much, your hair can become oily, weighed down, and limp. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 27, 2018
There's something oddly comforting about having this product around. It's not something I use daily, but when my hair feels a bit dry and lifeless, I apply it before bed. It's like a sleeping mask for your hair. I don't consider it a styling product, but rather something that adds shine and nourishment. For styling, I use other Aveda products. When I wake up and shampoo the next morning, I can feel that my hair has absorbed some nourishment. The scent might be polarizing. Personally, I love Aveda's fragrances so much that I even use their Invati body spray as a perfume. However, my mother strongly dislikes it, and occasionally some friends complain that it smells like a temple or monastery. It's crucial not to use too much of this product. The applicator is a drop-by-drop type, and a little goes a long way. Two to three drops are sufficient. Apply these drops to your fingertips, rub them together, and then work the product into your hair, avoiding the roots. If you apply too much to your scalp, it can weigh down your roots, making your hair appear thinner. - js*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 27, 2018
I love that it's not sticky at all. It's a versatile product that works well whether your hair is dry or wet. It's a bit inconvenient to dispense. If your hair is severely damaged or very dry, it might not provide enough moisture. It's easier to use when you apply a generous amount to wet hair. - an********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 13, 2018
Hair condition: Regular straightening and coloring Curly, thick, and voluminous hair Permed hair that requires daily blow-drying and flat ironing Salon stylists say it's thick but hollow inside (?!), making it surprisingly difficult to style despite appearances Hair length is about waist-long. Switched to black dye to give coloring a break due to excessive damage Daily routine includes tidying up the hairline and styling with a flat iron After using Aveda's Repair line, I dry and style my hair, then finish by rubbing a few drops between my palms. I hold it until it feels slightly warm, then focus on applying it to the ends and damaged areas The split ends come together politely, and true to its oily nature, it calms frizz and adds shine My hairstylist suggested applying it whenever my hair feels dry, but it gets too greasy for me to use that way It turns into a slick, oily mess like I've doused my hair in sesame oil As someone with dry, damaged hair, I'm satisfied with the moisture and coating effect it provides, given how it makes my hair shine It's a slightly heavy oil that's great for taming frizz and adding shine, but if you misjudge the amount, it can maximize the greasy look, increasing the chances of people thinking you haven't washed your hair in a while! Use very small amounts, warming it up in your hands by making a fist. Never apply it straight down following the hair strands Instead, use your fist to apply it from the ends upwards, scrunching as you go Absolutely avoid getting it anywhere near the scalp! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedAug 29, 2018
I impulsively went to the store looking for a hair product, and they recommended this oil. I was hesitant to buy another oil since I was already using Moroccan oil, but after testing it once, I immediately purchased it because the effects were so instantaneous. I usually love herbal scents, and when I apply this to my hair, it feels like I've spritzed on an Hermès perfume. The amount you get for the price is truly minuscule. And the allergenic ingredients... oh no... there are nine of them!!! I deducted one star because of the ingredients. After drying your hair completely, put a few drops on your fingers and apply evenly to the ends of your hair. You can see the shine even when using an incredibly small amount. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 1, 2017
[1] Herbal Scent In line with the brand's emphasis on a natural image, there's a subtle herbal fragrance. It gives a refreshing feeling, making you feel good every time you apply it. Not just me, but when I lend it to people around me to try, they say it gives them a sense of mental clarity. [2] Hydration I naturally have fine hair that gets damaged easily, so it always needs care. After coloring, the ends of my hair get so bad they can't even be combed. At hair salons, I'm always recommended the most expensive treatments for my extremely dry hair. I typically only use Aveda products for my hair, from shampoo to treatments. I bought this product after a recommendation in-store. Given my extremely dry hair, it doesn't make my hair feel saturated with moisture, plump, or elastic when applied. However, it does make split ends look more tidy and adds shine. And, I can comb my hair!!!! So I apply it after washing my hair, before drying. About 5 drops from the ends up to a hand's length (for reference, my hair reaches below my chest, so I apply it to about a hand's length). After blow-drying, I mix this oil with the Damage Remedy Hair Repair and finish up. After that, my hair doesn't tangle easily and stays calm throughout the day. It's sufficient without needing to apply anything else. [3] Price Aveda product prices... they can be burdensome. Still, I think it's worth the price. Compared to the Damage Remedy Hair Repair, depending on hair length, you might use up to 5 drops? For shorter lengths, 3 drops can do the job. Um... since I don't use it wastefully, it lasts longer than expected. Its portability makes it a must-have in my pouch for travels or business trips. [4] Usage Method You should apply it mainly to the ends of your hair. If you apply it close to the scalp, it might cause an oil explosion on your scalp. As it's an oil product for moisturizing hair ends, it's best to apply it close to the ends of your hair. Even with frequent use, it could lead to oil buildup on the scalp, so be careful! [5] Price Although I mentioned earlier that it's good value for money, the truth is the price is still quite steep, so I'll mention it again. I recommend taking advantage of duty-free opportunities, but it's a product worth trying once. [6] TIP. Mixing it with hair serum or essence products can increase hydration over a wider area! Also, it's good to mix about 3 drops when using a treatment! Of course, you know not to apply treatment close to the scalp, right? - se*******Combination SkinJun 1, 2017
This oil provides nourishment in a reliable way. It has the signature Aveda scent that we all know and love. You need to use a very small amount before your hair dries, which doesn't really help in softening or styling your hair. The price is also quite high considering its performance.
