The skin expression is so pretty when applied thinly!! I have a bright skin tone, and even bright colors from regular drugstore brands would make me look dull, but this one is truly brightening and the color is so radiant - I love it! Hmm, on days when my skin is not great, everything just gets accentuated, and if I apply without caring, it goes on thick, which makes it feel a bit heavy and cakey... I'm looking for a lightweight foundation, so I don't think I'll be repurchasing this one. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 28, 2017
Since my skin is on the fairer side, I usually use shades 13-17, but this one was just perfect - it brightened my complexion nicely and matched my skin tone beautifully. The color is a lovely ivory shade ❤ I had been using the Jini foundation, but it was causing me some breakouts, so I switched to this one. It's great - no more breakouts, and it's moisturizing yet has pretty good coverage. Most importantly, the color is absolutely gorgeous, and it applies very smoothly, giving my skin a lovely finish!! Wearing this makes my skin look so healthy and radiant 💕 I'll definitely repurchase once I run out 💕 There seems to be a lot of the foundation left inside the container, but I can't really tell how much is left 😞 The Espoir blending puff works amazingly well with this foundation 💕 - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinOct 7, 2017
The oil rises well around the nose and chin area The texture is moisturizing and flowing When applied with the Lohb's puff brush, it goes on thinly When applied with a natural fiber sponge, it has a slightly thicker feel I bought it at the end of February and have been using it until early October - the amount lasts a long time The coverage is not very high It just feels a bit cakey when you apply concealer on top - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJul 17, 2017
My skin type is extremely dry and sensitive Using products with poor adhesion causes my makeup to easily come off ㅜㅜ I'm still searching for my holy grail, but this product is among the top tier It has good adhesion and coverage. It's not too drying either I apply a thin layer with a sponge and finish with a luminous cushion foundation ㅎㅎ Red acne cannot be fully covered with this product alone You'll need to use a concealer together with it - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinJul 14, 2017
Since my skin is quite fair, I was worried that even wearing a light-colored foundation would make me look yellow and dark. But I tried this product based on a friend's recommendation. The main reason I bought this was because the color is so pretty. It's moisturizing and doesn't feel heavy when applied. The foundation shade is a lovely ivory color. When I used the typical shade 21 from drugstore brands, it would look a bit dull and yellowish on me, but this one seems to match my skin tone well. The base makeup applies smoothly with an air puff, leaving a dewy, nice finish. I think it looks best right after application. I'd recommend this to people with good skin. To be honest, the coverage is not great, so you'll need to use a concealer separately. I have combination skin that's on the drier side, and the staying power doesn't seem that great. The T-zone area, which is more oily, tends to break down messily. You'll probably need to use powder in the oily areas. Due to the way it breaks down, I'm not sure if I'll repurchase this. When applied with an air puff, it has good adherence. Those who find it still looks too dark should mix it with a whitening cream or makeup base. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 7, 2017
1. Color I think there is no foundation that can beat Espoir Porcelain for skin tone 13. The color is just so beautiful. Those with very fair skin will definitely understand, but in department stores or roadshops, shades lighter than 17 are always just pink...I've really never seen a foundation with an ivory color like Porcelain. Interestingly, I really like VDL and have tried almost all their base products, but I like the performance of Espoir better, though I keep using the Hwahae Trial Reviewer because of the color match. 2. Longevity The longevity seems pretty decent as well. There's no darkening, haha. Aside from the color, I think there are quite a few disappointing aspects. 1. Coverage It doesn't cover oily skin or redness very well. There are some pores. But the redness coverage is just so-so, and the pore coverage is also just average. I don't think it's a foundation that creates a beautiful texture. 2. Caking and Settling I don't have much flaky skin, but even a little bit causes it to cling and flake off. The flakiness is shocking. And while the longevity is decent, it settles into fine lines and wrinkles...it starts settling in right after I apply it on my face. It's not a tip, but I've been using the Skinfood wedge puff for over a year now, and it's a pretty good combination. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 21, 2017
I purchased this product after searching and searching, having lived a nomadic cushion life and wanting to try liquid foundation. ㅋㅋ Although I have trouble-prone and very sensitive skin, I had no problems at all using this product. ㅎㅎㅎ It applies thinly and is so nice! After applying, if I go over it once with the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder, it lasts until late at night!! What's more, there are so many color options, so I was able to find the perfect shade for my skin. After applying, it felt moisturized, and with my moisturizing base cream, there was no tightness at all. When removing it with cleansing tissues, it came off completely clean. I'm completely satisfied!! I will repurchase~~ +For those who prioritize coverage, this is not recommended!! You should think of the coverage as almost non-existent.. ㅋㅋㅋ It applies incredibly thinly~~ There's nothing disappointing about the product itself, but the brush that came with it is a bit of a letdown ㅠㅠㅋㅋ There was a brush giveaway promotion when I purchased it, and the brush has a wide face that's good for sweeping across the face, but it gets stiff and dry after using just a little foundation (it could be that I'm just not good at using brushes ㅋㅋㅋ) So I'm currently relying on a Daiso puff! Scoop out an amount the size of a bean, dot it around your face, and then gently pat and spread it out with a damp makeup sponge for a thin, seamless application! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 21, 2017
This is a liquid type foundation. 1. I don't like it when the skin expression becomes thick and stuffy, but if you apply it in small amounts, it can express a thin and moisturized look! On the day when you have had a good sleep and your skin condition is good, you can express your skin with this and after about an hour, you can get a really nice glow and porcelain-like skin expression. This is a foundation that makes good skin even better! 2. It's quite moisturizing, but the coverage is not zero at all. I think blemishes and spots should be covered with a concealer, so the coverage doesn't seem to be a big problem. I would recommend this foundation to those who want a more transparent and thin skin expression, rather than those who have a lot of trouble or blemishes and want the foundation to cover them a bit more. 3. The color spectrum is relatively wide, so you will have a lot of options to choose from. In my case, I went to the store with just sunscreen on and told the staff member about the skin expression and color I wanted, and then tested it and used it. For those with porcelain-colored skin who feel that they don't look radiant even when using shade 21, it would be good to test it out. Let me summarize the drawbacks I've experienced after using it for a year. 1. Exaggerates poor skin condition As mentioned in the advantages, it can elevate your skin to the best on good skin days, but when applied on bad skin days, it seems to accentuate the issues. If you use it on days when you haven't had proper sleep or have flaky skin, it can have the opposite effect. Your pores may become more prominent, and flakiness may occur. 2. Breaks down due to temperature changes Since it's quite moisturizing, I think many people might use it in the winter. However, when you go from the cold outside to the warm indoor environment with heaters, it seems to break down quite messily at times. Of course, the foundation breaking down also depends on what you have applied underneath, but in my experience, the temperature difference also plays a role. 3. Dryness As this foundation is famous for dry skin types, many dry-skinned people might want to try it. But rather than just purchasing it, it's better to test it first. At first, it may feel moisturizing, but over time, it can start to feel dry and flaky. However, if you apply too many moisturizing base products, it may not absorb properly and start to slip. I'd recommend doing a test. 4. Longevity In the summer, it might be better to look for a different foundation. I have combination skin, and while the cheek area is relatively fine with powder application, the T-zone area severely lacks longevity. Especially in the summer, I wouldn't recommend this to those who dislike frequent touch-ups. I would recommend this foundation to those who want a more transparent and thin skin expression, rather than those who want to heavily cover up their skin imperfections. I think this is a foundation that makes good skin even better! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 8, 2017
This is an extremely positive review! With proper skincare and a solid foundation, you can achieve porcelain-like skin when applying this product. Great! I've heard this product is very moisturizing, so I've been hesitant to try other high-coverage and matte foundations. The color itself is lovely and suits my skin tone well. The common shade 21 tends to make the skin tone appear dull, but this product just gives a fresh, glowing look with a single light application! However, it does seem quite brightening - even with a thin layer, I noticed I looked unusually pale when checking the mirror indoors compared to being outside. I love red lips, but they appeared ghostly with this foundation. Still, I'm happy with the radiant finish! There's no darkening or excessive breakdown either, which is nice. The coverage may not be as high as the moisturizing properties... I usually just apply a thin layer, but even with concealer, it can look patchy when it breaks down. (It may just be my poor makeup skills, though...) But since it's so hydrating, I'll probably keep using this forever... As I have dry skin, I use the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream before applying this foundation. It helps make my skin more supple. After the Dr. Jart+ and sunscreen, applying this foundation results in a great skin finish 👍🏻 Over time it can get a bit dry, so having a solid skincare routine and applying it that way is key. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 14, 2017
I've almost used up one bottle now. It applies smoothly and thinly, which I like. The color is also described as bright, so it doesn't just float around but instead gives a radiant glow. The coverage is lacking haha. I use this for color correction and skin texture expression, then use a concealer to cover blemishes.
