I mentioned my struggle with eyeshadow not showing up well due to darkness around my eyes, and the MAC sister recommended this! It definitely enhances color payoff! However, it's surprisingly thick, so you'll need to warm it up between your fingers before applying. Because it's so thick, it can be a bit drying. Since I'm prone to dryness and sensitivity around my eyes, I make sure to moisturize the area well before applying this. - kk******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 22, 2022
I was shocked at how perfectly it matched my skin tone! It instantly covered the discoloration around my eyes and even acts as a primer. That's really impressive! Hmm... I heard it's supposed to solidify quickly, but mine hasn't yet. I wish they'd just sell it in smaller quantities at a lower price. I'm worried it might harden before I can use it all. - ch******Normal SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJul 29, 2021
I'm using this as a base primer. It's great for smoothing out the eye area and helps eyeshadow last longer. I'm not sure if it has better staying power than regular eye primers. Make sure to blend quickly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 17, 2018
The eyeshadow base really locks in the powder particles, enhancing color payoff and longevity while reducing excess fallout. Due to a medical condition, I tend to tear up easily, and normally eyeshadow only lasts 3 hours max on me. But with this paint pot, it holds up for a good 6 hours. Plus, it has a bit of coverage, concealing those pesky blood vessels on the eyelids. Hallelujah! I can't understand why this isn't more popular - it's absolutely fantastic. No need for an eye primer anymore. The eyeshadow sets almost instantly upon application, making blending a real struggle. However, as time passes, it naturally softens due to my tears, making it somewhat more manageable. Being a pot type product, it tends to dry out easily. The quantity is also enormous - I doubt I'll use it all before it dries up completely. I wish they'd reduce the amount and price, allowing us to buy a fresh one just as it's about to dry out. Trying to apply it with a brush is futile - the brush bristles just fall out and the product doesn't adhere well. The best method is to gently warm it up with your fingertips before applying. Storing it upside down helps slow down the drying process a bit. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 28, 2017
I absolutely adore this product! The color is quite light, so I've been using it as an eye primer. For those with darker skin tones or anyone looking to add some depth, I'd recommend the 'Laying Low' shade. Overall, the Paint Pot series works wonderfully as a primer. When you apply powder eyeshadow over this, the staying power is simply phenomenal! The price, oh the price... Why is it so much higher than the international retail price? It's such a shame. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 9, 2017
Due to my oily eyelids, my eye makeup would always crease within hours, regardless of the season. But with this product, even the most glittery eye looks stay put for over 6 hours! Plus, it comes in a beast-sized container, so if you snag it cheap from overseas or duty-free, it'll last ages. It's a bit disappointing that it comes in a pot, requiring application with fingers, and it's somewhat heavy. I wish it came in stick form - it would be easier to apply and lighter to carry around. - yo*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinOct 9, 2016
I'm using this as an eye primer substitute. It applies smoothly, adheres well, and has a powdery finish... As I have oily lids, this is always the first product I apply to prevent creasing. On days when my skin feels particularly oily, I apply powder first, then layer this on top. It keeps everything in place all day long...!! Being warm-toned, I bought the soft ochre shade, which turned out to be a great choice. Since this is a cream in a jar, I'm always worried about it drying out. You must close it tightly. It would be a shame if it dried up and cracked before using up the generous amount. You can apply it with your fingers or a concealer brush. I mainly use my fingers though. For those with cool undertones... try out Painterly! - se*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresOct 2, 2016
I use this as an eye primer. After applying it with my fingers, when I layer eyeshadow on top, it significantly extends the wear time of the shadow. It prevents creasing and looks flawless without being matte. Applying it with fingers could potentially raise hygiene concerns, but I don't worry too much about it. Some say it hardens over time, but even after 1 year and 2 months since opening, mine is still fine. While it's in a higher price range, considering how long it lasts, it's actually quite cost-effective. I've tried many eye primers, but this one is the best - no irritation and long-lasting. It works hard to keep my eye makeup in place all day. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinAug 15, 2016
The quantity is generous. It matches my skin tone well, so I can use it without worry. It can dry out quickly. You need to take care of it. Sometimes it clumps together. Use a very small amount and gently pat it on. Apply eyeshadow immediately after, otherwise it will pill. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJul 3, 2016
Great value for money with a generous amount! It works wonderfully as an eye primer. I recommend visiting the store to find the shade closest to your skin tone for use as an eye primer. It's even better than most dedicated eye primers out there. The jar packaging is a bit inconvenient, and I'm worried about it spoiling. There's also the hygiene concern of applying it with your fingers.
