It's lightweight and non-sticky, applying like an emulsion. Easy to spread with fingers, it feels like it creates a moisturizing barrier with its ointment-like texture. The small opening allows for controlled dispensing, preventing too much product from coming out at once.
ConsWhile it's not short-lasting, when I apply it before bed, it seems to have disappeared by morning. Rather than being absorbed, it feels like it's just preventing surface dryness. Unfortunately, it had no effect on my cheilitis-like symptoms.

The tube packaging is great - no worries about it melting in your pocket or getting nicked when closing the cap like with stick versions.
ConsWhile it's not completely ineffective for hydration, after it absorbs, there's a dry, surface-level feeling. It's like wax or petroleum jelly - creating a surface barrier without really supplying much oil or moisture. If you apply it before bed, you'll wake up with hard dead skin cells on your lips. It's not that it's making existing flakes more noticeable due to a matte finish, but it's almost as if it's creating a new layer of dead skin through some kind of regenerative effect. Whether it actually has regenerative properties or not, it doesn't seem appropriate for a lip balm. It quickly made me regret not buying Burt's Bees or something similar, even if those might melt a bit.
TipAlthough it's in a tube, the contents are quite thick, so you need to squeeze harder than expected when first using it.
