As someone struggling with cheilitis, this was the only lip balm that didn't make my lips feel itchy. I can't think of any downsides, except for the high price. Everything else about it is great. I even bought two more because I get anxious when I'm running low! - cc***Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessRecommendedApr 5, 2025
I've been struggling with cheilitis and couldn't find a suitable lip balm, but this one doesn't seem to make it worse. I apply it when my lips feel dry. It's a bit on the thick side, so using a cotton swab is essential when applying it to sore lips. - jy*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 23, 2025
The ingredients are gentle, making it suitable for sensitive skin and delicate lips. While the size is smaller than in the photo, it's an adequate amount for me, though some might find it insufficient. It's thick when squeezed out but spreads easily, offering both a matte finish and hydration. It's very thick, making it difficult to squeeze out (even harder than Sidmool products; Sidmool becomes softer and easier to squeeze after warming it up or massaging the tube, but this one remains thick). It has a sweet yet bitter aftertaste, which didn't bother me much but might be off-putting for some. It's over 9,000 won on sale at Olive Young, but I noticed it's even cheaper on Hwahae (The regular price seems to be over 10,000 won). - la***Normal SkinRecommendedFeb 17, 2025
It really helps soothe my lips when they're itchy or inflamed. The hydration is a bit disappointing. It feels like my lips dry out quickly even after applying. - os*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinJan 16, 2025
The tube packaging allows for hygienic use, as you can squeeze out just the amount you need. The packaging design aligns well with the La Roche-Posay brand, featuring a clean look with a blue-point label, black text, and a white background. Being fragrance-free, it doesn't become tiresome to use. La Roche-Posay has a reputation for being gentle, and they're known for their soothing creams often used after dermatologist visits. So I had high expectations for their lip balm, but I'm unsure why it contains potentially irritating ingredients. The formulation is a bit disappointing. However, I didn't experience any blemishes while using it. The quantity seems a bit small, which is unfortunate. It provides temporary hydration, but it doesn't seem to address dead skin cells effectively. I usually apply a thick layer before bed to gently exfoliate in the morning, but there's not enough product for that routine. I just use it occasionally during the day when my lips feel dry. It doesn't seem suitable for application over makeup. - mo********Dry SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJan 10, 2025
As someone with atopic skin, my lips constantly peel and crack. But when I apply a thick layer of this before bed, I wake up to soft and moisturized lips in the morning! The price is a bit steep for the amount you get. You can save a little by purchasing it directly from overseas retailers. - ky*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 24, 2024
The tube packaging makes it more hygienic to use and easier to control the amount. Its thick ointment-like texture provides good hydration. As someone with very dry lips who likes to apply a thick layer of lip balm, I was disappointed that this product has a strangely bitter and astringent taste when it gets into my mouth. - nm******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 7, 2024
1. The initial squeeze produces a thick consistency, making it easy to control the amount. 2. It spreads smoothly and evenly when applied to the lips. 3. It offers both a matte and moisturizing feel. 4. The hydration is excellent, providing satisfying results. It gets used up faster than expected. For a lip balm, it's on the pricier side. - 80******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 31, 2024
Hydration power!! I've tried almost all fragrance-free tube lip balms, and this La Roche-Posay lip balm ranks second in moisturizing effectiveness. It doesn't just add oil to your lips; it also replenishes moisture, creating a hydrated state and then forming a protective oil barrier that excellently prevents moisture evaporation and shields the skin. I tried it because I was concerned about petrolatum, the main ingredient in Va*eline, but this one is much less sticky and doesn't leave a greasy shine, making it more convenient for outdoor use. The Va*eline one is better used as a night pack, applied thickly on the lips, rather than for daily casual application. It also rarely oxidizes or degrades due to temperature changes, so I was satisfied with the stability of the ingredients themselves. The tube format is my preferred type as it has much less surface area exposed to air compared to stick forms, making hygiene management easier. As someone with severe lip atopy, I appreciated that it's fragrance-free, so it didn't cause any itching when I used it. I'm worried about the PEGs... Even though it's a small amount in lip balm, we inevitably end up ingesting some of it without realizing. However!!! Since it doesn't violate Europe's strict regulations and management, I'll trust it and give it a try. (It's because I can't find any other suitable lip balms....) - wk*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedJul 24, 2024
It's great to apply when you have a cold sore that's itchy. Such a relief! You need to apply it generously and frequently, so considering the amount you get, it seems a bit pricey.
