I love how this deep shade applies smoothly, perfect for layering on the inner part of my lips. It glides on effortlessly, making application a breeze. There's absolutely nothing to dislike about this product. It's flawless through and through. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedApr 29, 2021
Honest review from my own purchase: Before you read on, please note this is a highly subjective review from a non-expert! Everyone's opinions may differ, so please keep that in mind. If you're a fan of MLBB (My Lips But Better) colors, you'll absolutely love this. The shade is incredibly satisfying. The application is fantastic - it goes on creamy but finishes matte. If you like matte lips but worry about dead skin cells showing, this product will be less problematic! I personally adore this type of application. It's a bit annoying that you have to sharpen it. Every time you sharpen, it feels like you're losing some product. Given that it's not exactly cheap, it's a bit disheartening to see some of it go to waste with each sharpening. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 12, 2021
I received this as a birthday gift, and it's become my holy grail lipstick! Since I'm not a fan of vibrant shades, I really appreciate this subdued color. My friend tried mine on and loved how beautiful it looked... I think it would suit everyone perfectly. Words can't do it justice - you absolutely must buy it! No matter how hard I try, I can't find a single flaw. It's perfection itself. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 21, 2020
First off, this is the most perfect MLBB shade out there. It's especially lovely for autumn. The application is smooth and effortless. Not recommended for those who find sharpening pencils a hassle. If you have very dry lips or are prone to dead skin cells, you might find it a bit bothersome. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 23, 2020
The uncommon and beautiful color, along with its matte and clean application, is truly impressive. I love that it's a pencil type, allowing for more precise and delicate application. It's a bit disappointing that as you sharpen the pencil, you lose some of the product along with the shavings. - po*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 23, 2020
When applied thinly, it creates a beautifully toned-down MLB lip look. When layered more heavily, it develops into a gorgeous deep color! It's a bit of a hassle to have to sharpen it, but the beautiful color makes up for it! - ol******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJun 14, 2019
Absolutely gorgeous, my lifelong companion! I initially planned to buy Dolce Vita, but this turned out to be the true MLB. It's incomparable to Dolce Vita. It looks so sophisticated, and with its muted tones, it complements any outfit perfectly. My love... I highly recommend trying it on before purchasing. It pairs beautifully with any lip color for a fantastic mix and match. The color suits late twenties well, and the low saturation is a plus. The fact that I love it so much is actually a downside. The quantity is too small, and it seems to evaporate quickly. The most inconvenient part is having to carry a sharpener around. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 11, 2019
Valkyrie, a darker shade in the MLBB family... It appears more subtle and natural on the lips compared to swatching on the back of your hand. I mainly use it during Fall/Winter seasons. In spring, I apply it lightly, focusing on the inner lips for a gradient effect. It's a suitable color for early spring rather than late spring. As a velvet matte lip product, it applies matte but doesn't feel dry or stiff. Instead, it glides on the lips like velvet, creating a natural color payoff. Unlike other matte lipsticks with intense pigmentation, this formula applies lightly with a subtle, natural finish. Even those who usually find matte lips uncomfortable might enjoy using this product. Valkyrie is a deeper shade compared to Dolce Vita, think of it as a subtle brick color. When applying it alone, rather than covering the entire lip, it looks prettier when applied as a gradient starting from the inner lips. Despite being a deep MLBB shade, it's not overwhelming due to its buildable formula. It also pairs beautifully with Dolce Vita. Try applying Dolce Vita all over and then add Valkyrie as an accent on the inner lips for a charming effect. It's heartbreaking to see the color disappear when sharpening the pencil... Valkyrie looks more beautiful when applied as a gradient from the inner lips rather than covering the entire lip area. You can also try applying Dolce Vita all over and then add Valkyrie to the inner lips for a lovely effect. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedFeb 11, 2019
It absorbs well and the color payoff is great. It glides on smoothly and effortlessly. The staying power is impressive too. It's matte, so if you're looking for something moisturizing, you might want to avoid this. Don't forget to exfoliate your lips first! It's on the pricier side, and the amount you get is quite small for the cost. Most importantly, while it's a lip product, the ingredients are a bit disappointing. I've noticed this tends to be the case with foreign brands, unfortunately. I like to apply a thin layer of Vaseline on top. In winter, it can feel a bit too matte and make my lips feel constricted. - ol******Normal SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJan 20, 2019
My complexion: Deep undertone, estimated 24-25 shade, sensitive, combination (combination in winter) Holy grail list: MAC Chili - Instant glow under fluorescent lights! 3CE 803 - Instant radiance under fluorescent lights! 3CE 114 - Natural nude tone Canmake Stay-On Balm Rouge 03 I was considering 'Kinda Sexy' as a base shade but decided to wait. 'Taupe' seemed too intense, so I postponed it. I really wanted 'Mocha', but while researching it, I found out about a similar product and ended up getting this one. (Note: Mocha is said to be lighter than Valkyrie) You, my dear 'Valkyrie', illuminate my face, everyone. No, more than just illuminating, the color is sophisticated and luxurious. It seems to have a yellow base tone. I feel like anyone with a deep undertone could pull this off... It applies smoothly. Let's see how we get along, my Valkyrie for my face ----------Update----------- Looks like I'm not a deep autumn tone after all... At first, I thought it suited me... But it makes my complexion look dull... Farewell, Valkyrie... You really have to sharpen this one all the way down to use it~ It's such a pain. As for the price... well, they nailed the color so perfectly, what can you expect? It would look pretty as a full lip or gradient. I've found out that NARS has many shades suitable for autumn deep tones.
