I tried this cleansing emulsion after my dermatologist recommended it for oily skin, and it's been great! It's gentle with no irritation, affordable, and practically fragrance-free, so it doesn't feel off-putting at all. I'd never used a cleansing emulsion before, and it's not a common product among my friends, so I was worried about how well it would remove makeup. But it cleanses effectively, making it a product I use regularly now. After cleansing and rinsing with water, it feels like there's some kind of oily or greasy film left on my skin, which makes me want to follow up with a light cleansing foam. While the portable size is convenient for travel, I wish they offered a larger volume for home use. The current size feels a bit small for daily cleansing at home. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 7, 2020
Just tried this for the first time today! Many people say it rolls on gently and absorbs well into the skin. Remember, with any cleanser, you shouldn't massage for more than 3-5 minutes - I kept it under 3 minutes before rinsing. Some users mentioned feeling a film after cleansing, so I gently wiped with a disposable sponge and lightly used a steam towel. I actually did three rounds of cleansing, and despite that, it was so gentle that my skin feels hydrated without any irritation. While the price is reasonable, the amount... I used it three times in one session, and if I use it daily like this, it'll run out quickly. I'll need to keep using it to be sure, but for my first use today, that's my only concern. Oops! I think I covered everything above... - mj*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 18, 2019
I bought this for my second cleanse and it removes makeup so gently without any irritation! I've tried other cleansing milks, but I think I'll be sticking with this product from now on. The amount is quite small... I wish they'd come out with a larger size... - ha*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 9, 2019
As the name suggests, this is an emulsion-type cleanser. It allowed me to remove makeup gently without irritation. On days when I only wore sunscreen, using an oil cleanser felt too heavy, but this emulsion cleanser felt less burdensome on my skin. I have oily and sensitive skin, so I'm always cautious about cleansers, but after using this product, I didn't experience any blemishes or acne breakouts. It leaves more of a protective film on the skin than I expected. After cleansing with this emulsion, my face feels quite shiny. It's as if there's a slight oil barrier on the skin. While this prevents dryness, those with oily skin might not appreciate this effect. It gives the impression that a second cleanse might be necessary. - th*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinOct 20, 2019
I can see that the ingredients are really excellent... No matter how much I try, it just won't come off completely. Maybe because the ingredients are so gentle, there's too much residue left behind. Even when I follow up with a cleansing foam, it still feels a bit uncomfortable. I'm surprised to see so many reviews on Hwahae saying the cleansing effectiveness is good! This might be suitable for those who only apply sunscreen. - ji**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedOct 11, 2019
My face doesn't feel overly dry after cleansing, and it removes makeup reasonably well, which I find satisfying. On days with heavy makeup, if I don't do a second cleanse, I often find mascara still lingering on my lashes. Instead of using oil, I use this for my first cleanse, followed by a gentle wash with soap. This routine works well for me. - bn****Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessOct 9, 2019
1. It doesn't flip over 2. Easily accessible and readily available for purchase I'm quite baffled. My face feels dirtier after cleansing than before. The slippery feeling on my skin is no joke. Even after trying a second cleanse with a foam cleanser, it doesn't wash off well, and I can't handle it. I've used cleansing emulsions from other brands before trying this one, but it's inconvenient and doesn't compare well, especially on days when I wear makeup. I can't cleanse with this emulsion on those days. This might be suitable for those with extremely dry skin who don't wear any makeup at all - dl*********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 23, 2019
I have oily skin that produces excess sebum even in the dead of winter, but it's closer to combination dehydrated skin that feels dry right after washing. My pores are large around the nose and cheeks, with very active sebum production. After using various cosmetics for over 20 years without discrimination, I suddenly became super sensitive. Now I carefully choose products, avoiding anything with potentially harmful ingredients or components that might not suit different skin types, even if reactions vary from person to person. Texture: Thin 1 2 3 4 5 Thick > 3. It has a fascinating texture. As the name suggests, it's like an emulsion. It's a somewhat unfamiliar texture for a cleanser. Cleansing effectiveness: Weak 1 2 3 4 5 Strong > 5. The cleansing power is excellent. Like most oils, it removes everything from face makeup to eye makeup and mascara just by massaging it in. Irritation: Low 1 2 3 4 5 High > 1. The Minimum line is famous for having minimal ingredients, which means less irritation. It truly is gentle on the skin. I've never experienced any stinging, burning sensation, or redness. I'm usually very tolerant when it comes to non-product elements like packaging or scent, but with this product... I can't ignore the smell. It's the worst scent I've encountered in any cosmetic product. I can't even call it a fragrance... Maybe it's because the ingredients are so minimal that there's nothing to mask the smell, but this is too much. The performance and cleansing effectiveness are all good, but the scent makes me seriously reconsider repurchasing! For those with oily skin who are wary of oils, I highly recommend this cleansing emulsion (let's forget about the scent for a moment). I was also looking for something that could cleanse effectively in one step without using oil, and that's how I discovered this product. I've been using it consistently for over a month now. The product description says you can use this alone and finish with just water, but I feel like it doesn't remove everything completely, so I do a light second cleanse. If you really, really, really don't mind the smell, I genuinely recommend this product! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 12, 2019
I stumbled upon this product by chance and decided to give it a try. Compared to other cleansing emulsions, I found it to be much gentler on my skin. If I had to point out a downside... it might be that it feels so gentle that you might think it's not removing makeup effectively. But actually, it does cleanse quite well. - de********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJun 30, 2019
As someone with sensitive skin and particular about product ingredients, this is the only cleansing emulsion I use. It's excellent for removing makeup. True to its emulsion type, it glides on the skin smoothly during cleansing massage. Best of all, it doesn't irritate my skin. The scent is a bit disappointing. It's not quite unscented as claimed, which is a bit ambiguous. For my routine, I first do a thorough cleansing massage with this emulsion. Then, I follow up with a cleansing water. Finally, I finish with a foam cleanser and I'm done!
