After using it, you can feel your skin texture becoming smoother and dead skin cells being neatly managed! As a loyal Body Shop user, I'm on my third bottle and it's not bad at all! The loosened dead skin cells and residue don't come off easily with just water. And if it gets stuck in your hair, it's a real nightmare! I use it about once every two weeks. When I asked at the Body Shop store, they said that instead of removing residue with a cleanser after use, it's better to wipe it off with toner or gently massage it as if you're doing a light cleanse. It comes off quickly that way! After using this, I do a light cleanse with Cellbien toner wash, and the grime-like residue comes off cleanly! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 20, 2019
At first, I thought the dead skin cells weren't coming off during exfoliation, but after waiting a minute and trying again, they started to come off bit by bit. I loved how my skin felt moisturized even after I finished. If it gets in your mouth, it feels like you've eaten something extremely bitter - it's awful. Even rinsing doesn't help. It's fine as long as you keep it out of your mouth. - hu*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinMar 9, 2019
Exfoliates gently without irritation. It's a gommage-type product. After use, my skin feels smooth without any dead skin cells detectable to the touch. After exfoliating, sticky residue remains in patches. The sales associate said it's nourishing ingredients clumping around areas with hair like eyebrows, but regardless, it's a bit inconvenient that these residues don't wash off easily even with water. After rinsing with water, you need to use a cotton pad with toner to remove the remaining residue. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 13, 2019
First off, it feels less irritating since there are no granules. I should have checked Hwahae reviews beforehand though! When I first applied it, maybe due to the overpowering scent, my eyes and face felt a stinging sensation. After applying, massaging, and rinsing, it felt like tree sap was stuck on my skin, leaving a sticky residue that wouldn't wash off. Ugh... I actually cursed while cleansing. I have skin that's not sensitive to most products, but this is truly unusable. I'm thinking of throwing it away. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 21, 2018
I'm so impressed with this product after using it for the first time. It's amazing how it effectively removed a lot of dead skin cells from my face, leaving it feeling so much better! Unfortunately, I experienced some tingling on my face even after applying toner and emulsion following the initial use, which was a bit disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 29, 2018
As someone with super sensitive skin that reddens at the slightest touch, exfoliation has always been challenging. This peeling gel, which removes dead skin cells by gently rolling after application, didn't cause any tightness or tingling sensation during the process. The squeaky-clean feeling left on my hands and face after exfoliation is uncomfortable. I find myself rinsing multiple times with water to get rid of that panthenol-like sensation, but I'm concerned this extra washing might actually irritate my skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 3, 2018
Despite some mixed reviews, the biggest advantage is that after cleansing, your skin doesn't feel parched and retains some hydration! This could be great for those with dry skin. Unlike other peeling gels that work instantly, this one requires a bit more massaging before the dead skin cells start to come off. So the experience might feel a bit unfamiliar. When rinsing, the moisturizing ingredients might cause some dead skin to be partially left behind, but don't follow up with a cleansing foam. Instead, gently rinse with lukewarm water to remove any residue! Follow up immediately with a moisturizer for best results. The exfoliating power is pretty good too, so I'm satisfied overall. It's pricey... To be honest, I docked a star because of the cost. I won't be repurchasing unless it's on sale. When rinsing off the dead skin cells, just use water and let it wash away gently. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 29, 2018
As a first-time user of a peeling product, I'm pleased that it's not harsh on my skin. While the results aren't dramatic, my skin feels noticeably softer compared to not using it at all. After use, my face feels a bit sticky. Also, sometimes I notice residual peeling particles clinging to my facial hair. - j_***Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresJan 31, 2018
I can't seem to find any positive aspects to mention. I'm not sure if it's just me, but when using this peeling gel, the dead skin cells that come off during rolling get stuck in my facial hair. This not only prevents proper exfoliation but also makes cleansing a real hassle. The next day, when I look at my skin before applying makeup, I can see patches of partially removed dead skin cells. It seems The Body Shop might not excel in skincare. On a brighter note, I'm quite satisfied with their body butter. I couldn't afford it, but I'd recommend getting your facial hair waxed before using this. It's really unpleasant when skincare products get tangled in your facial hair. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 5, 2017
I found it pleasant to use as it wasn't irritating. The scent was nice too, and it felt light on my skin. It's hard to tell if it's actually exfoliating since you can't see any dead skin cells coming off. If you leave it on for too long, it becomes sticky and difficult to wash off, even after rinsing multiple times with water.
