I'm a fan of runny textures, and this one really shines in terms of how it applies and absorbs. It's been great for layering with multiple serums during my evening skincare routine. While it's nice that it doesn't cause any blemishes and applies well, I can't say I've noticed any remarkable effects beyond that. I've been using it with the hope that it's doing something good for my skin, even if I can't see it. - hh***Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 10, 2025
It absorbs well without feeling sticky, so I could apply it morning and night without any burden. It seemed to help improve skin elasticity, which made me reach for it consistently. Above all, I was most satisfied with its excellent value for money, given the high-quality ingredient composition at this price point. The hydration power is a bit weak. When first using it, I felt a slight tingling sensation, so I recommend a patch test for those with super sensitive skin. The glass bottle packaging makes me a bit nervous when carrying it around or if I accidentally drop it. - sh****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMay 1, 2025
This is a great Matrixyl serum for wrinkle management. The Ordinary is a brand I love for its excellent value. It works well when used together with their Niacinamide serum. Some people mention pilling, but it suits my skin perfectly. It has a clear, viscous texture that absorbs well without any sticky feeling. I'm using it for firmness, but I haven't noticed any dramatic effects. Still, it's better than not using anything at all. I plan to keep purchasing from The Ordinary. - a0**********Dry SkinRecommendedMar 22, 2025
Pure ingredients: The Ordinary's strength lies in its minimalist approach, using pure ingredients without many additives. I appreciate being able to choose specific ingredients I want for my skincare routine. Matrixyl for pore care: It's said that Matrixyl concentrations of 3-8% or higher are needed for effective results on the skin. Knowing there's a limit to how much the skin can absorb, I prefer using higher doses. That's why I'm pleased with the 10% concentration. The texture is quite thick, so when dispensing it with the dropper, you need two pumps to get the right amount, whereas one pump is usually enough for other products. It's not a major inconvenience though, and I actually like the texture. Since it's said to activate skin cells, I tend to apply this product first, before other skincare items. - o1*********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 25, 2025
I decided to try the squalane oil for the first time and ordered this along with it. While I haven't used it consistently enough to see the remarkable effects mentioned in other reviews, I can say that it hasn't caused any blemishes or irritation. At this point, I can't really tell the difference between this and the multi-peptide serum from the same brand. I tend to buy all the hyped and popular products, only to regret it later. Among those, I consistently find myself agreeing with reviews that say The Ordinary's products don't absorb well into my skin. - yj*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJan 3, 2025
1. Great value for money 2. I bought it for neck wrinkle care, but I'll need to use it longer to see the full effects (at least they haven't gotten worse) 3. It's not too sticky and has a runny consistency I've only used it in winter, so I'm concerned it might feel a bit heavy during summer - ba******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedDec 30, 2024
I heard that applying it together with the matrix enhances its effectiveness, so I decided to give it a try. It doesn't cause any blemishes and seems to work well. I can't think of any downsides so far. Considering how well it's been working for me, I'll likely keep purchasing it. For double the effect, try applying it alongside retinol or niacinamide. - ma**********Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedDec 30, 2024
Skin type: Dry/Sensitive/Thin with redness/Prone to small blemishes/Losing elasticity As the weather turns cold and dry, and the office building starts cranking up the heat, my face begins to experience an 'earthquake' that a humidifier alone can't handle. This product is said to enhance the absorption of subsequent skincare items. Sometimes I apply a generous amount at the serum stage and use a facial device, while other times I mix a drop or two with other products. Though I haven't noticed any dramatic changes yet, my skin does feel firmer when I use it. Please offer this in a larger size. I bought it not long ago, but I'm already running low since I use quite a bit when using my facial device. Try mixing a drop or two into various parts of your skincare routine. - sd****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 19, 2024
I've been using this as my first step in my morning and evening skincare routine for about two weeks, and my skin texture has improved dramatically! Why didn't I start using this sooner? It's become an absolute must-have in my regimen. There's nothing particularly bad about it. The absorption is good. If I had to point out something, those with dry skin might need to pay extra attention to hydration. I use it in the morning with niacinamide and in the evening with retinoids. I've heard they work well together. - nn*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedOct 15, 2024
It wasn't bad, but I can't say it was amazing either. I'm on my second bottle, so I'll need to use it more to really tell. I'm questioning whether I really need to use this. I'm on my second bottle, so it should be showing some benefits by now, but there's nothing particularly impressive.
