Even when I'm too lazy to apply my usual toner and emulsion, I can just use this alone before bed and my skin doesn't feel dry at all. I have combination skin that leans towards the dry side, so if I don't pay attention to moisturizing, it gets uncomfortably dry. But this product's hydration is so exceptional that I've gone through 4 bottles already!
ConsSince it's a moisturizing product, I noticed it causes a bit of pilling when applied before makeup.

It doesn't contain any of the 20 cautionary ingredients or allergens, so I felt safe using it. Perhaps that's why, despite its rich texture, it didn't cause any blemishes or irritation. - The hydration is fantastic! As the name suggests, it's a night cream, so it's quite rich and thick, but it applies smoothly, creating a protective layer on the skin. It's also quite rich, so my skin never feels dry. I think it would be perfect for winter, preventing dead skin cells and providing excellent moisture. - It absorbs well! As I mentioned earlier, most thick, rich creams tend to clump or take a long time to absorb, but this cream applies smoothly and absorbs quickly!
Cons- Given its rich texture, those with oily skin might find it too heavy and potentially cause breakouts. Even for dry skin, it might be a bit much for summer use. It's best suited for night care in summer or for use during seasonal changes and winter. When used in the morning before makeup, it tends to cause some pilling. I think this is because it creates a protective layer on the skin.

It's thicker than a typical cream - if I had to compare, it's similar to Innisfree's Cica Balm. Moisturization: Great for hydration and works well with the Soothing Treatment I bought together. Since my skin is extremely dry, I found that applying the Soothing Treatment first for deep hydration and then following up with this cream really boosts the moisturizing effect. It's a truly gentle product that provides moisture without any irritation. You can definitely feel how mild it is while applying!
ConsThe cream doesn't seem to absorb 100%, leaving a feeling of oil sitting on top of the skin. It's not so much a smooth, dewy finish as it is a separated, floating sensation? It's hard to describe precisely, so I've tried my best to convey the feeling. Also, due to its thick consistency, it's not easy to apply. It doesn't spread evenly across the face - I had to apply it separately to my cheeks and jawline. If you apply makeup after using this, it pills like dead skin cells. I'm not sure if it's my actual dead skin or the product, but I didn't have this issue with other shea butter creams. Because of this, I switched back to my previous shea butter cream when I was almost done with this one. The reason it's empty is that my husband and I used it together, and he really liked it! That's why we repurchased it.
TipIf you want to increase the moisturizing effect, I recommend applying it in two layers with the same amount rather than using a lot at once. While this doesn't completely eliminate the feeling of oil sitting on top, it does seem to help a bit!

My skin instantly felt softer! They say it's gentle enough for people with atopic dermatitis and even babies to use, thanks to its mild ingredients. It's not sticky at all, and the hydration is fantastic, so I've been using it frequently.
ConsIt's a bit disappointing that it leaves a slightly oily residue. When I apply makeup over it, while it doesn't cause pilling, the makeup doesn't break down nicely as the day goes on... I wouldn't recommend it for morning use, and it's probably not the best choice for those who dislike any oily feeling on their skin.

This translates to excellent hydration. ✔Application It applies smoothly. At first, it sits white on the skin, but as you massage it in, it quickly melts due to your body heat and absorbs transparently. It leaves a subtle glow on your skin. ✔Hydration It's truly a high-moisture balm cream! After application, it feels like your skin is enveloped in a moisture barrier. During winter, when I used to only apply my regular moisturizer as the last step of my nighttime routine, I'd wake up with some deep dryness. But when I generously applied The Saem balm cream instead, my skin felt completely hydrated and not tight at all the next morning. ✔Scent I don't recall any particular fragrance. Those sensitive to scents should be able to use this comfortably. ✔Skin Improvement As part of The Hwahae Testers, I used this product from December 3rd to 13th. When used as an overnight mask, it significantly reduced my skin's deep dryness. It seems perfect for winter use.
ConsWhen I applied this as the final step in the morning before makeup, I noticed some pilling. So after the first day, I only used it at night. Also, after about 3-4 days of use, I noticed some small blemishes appearing on my forehead. I wasn't sure if it was due to this product, so I continued using it, and the blemishes didn't get worse but remained. To see if they clear up, I'm planning to stop using it on my forehead for a while starting today. Those with oily skin might need to be particularly cautious!
TipIt seems to work better as an overnight mask before bed rather than as a final step in your morning skincare routine before applying makeup.

So I didn't try it before makeup, but I noticed some reviews mentioning that it causes pilling. Please be cautious!
Cons아침에 바르기에는 헤비한 느낌이었습니다. 그래서 화장 전에는 발라보진 않았는데, 몇몇 리뷰를 보니 화장이 밀린다는 말이 있더군요, 주의해주세요!
TipYou can apply it worry-free anywhere that needs hydration! Try using it as an all-purpose cream for the back of your hands, elbows, knees, and heels.

Why? Because whenever I've used creams with this texture, while others raved about improved skin texture, it always clogged my pores and caused tiny bumps! However, this product was surprisingly lightweight when applied to my U-zone, which lacks oil. It excellently improved skin texture, calmed redness, and didn't cause any bumps! Unfortunately, my T-zone is quite... temperamental... with a unique personality, so this product did cause some sebum buildup there. Still, compared to similar products, it's less oily while being more effective (for those who don't consider my cons as actual drawbacks). So, I recommend this for: - Those whose skin isn't sensitive to pore-clogging textures - Those with rough skin texture seeking improvement Skin Texture Improvement & Calming: Apply at night, and you'll feel the difference in smoothness when washing your face in the morning! It also seemed to improve areas reddened by harsh winter winds. Gentle: My skin is incredibly sensitive to many products, but this one caused no stinging or itching. It's truly gentle! Fast Absorption for an Ointment-like Texture: Initially, I thought, "Oh no, I'll have to pat this in forever" due to its thick texture, but I was surprised by how quickly it absorbed. While not as fast as a watery moisturizer, it absorbs remarkably quickly for a barrier cream with this texture.
ConsNot Recommended Before Makeup or When in a Rush: While it doesn't pill when applying base makeup in a hurry, it can make your makeup look patchy! This may vary, but I wanted to mention the possibility. I recommend using it at night. Also, since it absorbs slower than watery moisturizers, you might get frustrated if you're in a rush. Not Recommended for Those Seeking Intense Hydration: After using this cream for a while, I noticed many reviews praising its hydrating properties. However, as someone with extremely dry skin in the U-zone, this cream alone wasn't nearly enough for winter! If you have dry skin, use this only for texture improvement and definitely add a moisturizer. It might be suitable as a winter cream for those with oily skin. Not Recommended for Those Sensitive to Pore-clogging Textures: This cream worked wonders on my U-zone, which rarely gets bumps and lacks oil. However, when applied to my T-zone (prone to sebum buildup and a combination of bumps and texture issues), it seemed to clog pores, causing sebum buildup and occasional bumps! While this could be due to poor exfoliation in winter, those with sensitive skin might want to avoid it. TMI (Too Much Information): (You might wonder why I don't just apply it to my U-zone. Well, this product is excellent at improving skin texture. But if I only apply it to my U-zone, my already problematic T-zone seems to worsen while my U-zone becomes smooth and glowing. I find it hard to accept such polarization in my skin. Nevertheless, due to its effectiveness, I'm reluctantly applying it diligently to my U-zone to achieve glowing skin, even if it's just in that area.)
TipAs mentioned above, this product might satisfy those who: - Don't mind slow absorption (prioritizing skin texture improvement) - Aren't bothered by the feeling of a film on their skin - Have oily skin and need a light winter barrier + moisturizing cream - Have dry skin and are willing to apply a separate moisturizer Despite its drawbacks, this cream has definite strengths. For someone like me who dislikes using separate day and night creams, these drawbacks are significant. However, for those it suits, it could be an excellent cream. If you fit the descriptions above, I recommend giving it a try!

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsAs a member of The Hwahae Testers, I'm writing this review. For reference, I have oily skin! Application: First off, it applies wonderfully! After cleansing, most products don't absorb well into my skin, but this one goes on thinly and feels like it's filling in my pores. If I had to compare it to something, you know how ointments spread thinly when applied? It's exactly like that! Absorption (after some time): Initially, it's not sticky but has a nice, elastic feel. I was worried about my pillowcase getting dirty during my night care routine, but no need to worry! It seems to absorb right into the skin. As time passes, it goes from elastic to slightly powdery. I'm satisfied! (Please refer to the drawbacks section) Price: As you can see in the photo, the container is quite large and full! At just over 20,000 won, I think the price is just right. Compared to other creams, you get a generous amount for the price. I highly recommend this for those with dry and sensitive skin! A friend of mine with sensitive skin tried it for a few days and was completely satisfied!
ConsBlemishes: Looking at the before and after photos, while the larger pimples remain unchanged, the smaller ones have improved somewhat. However, my skin only behaves when I use this for night care. When I apply it in the morning before school, my skin looks quite bad and messy. So, I recommend using it for night care! Makeup: I use cushion foundation for my base makeup. After cleansing with toner and applying this cream, I started my makeup routine. However, most cushions tended to pill, slide around, and clump a bit on my skin. If you want a flawless skin finish, you need to apply the cream the night before, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, my cushion foundation, which usually lasts 4-5 hours, suddenly started breaking down and becoming patchy after just 1-2 hours. That's disappointing!

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsI have oily, sensitive skin that's prone to blemishes! My skin is super sensitive. While I don't usually get many blemishes, during my period my skin tends to flare up badly. Being oily-skinned, if I change my skincare products and they clog my pores or if my skin produces too much oil, it can cause breakouts. Keep in mind that everyone's skin is different, so please use this as a reference only! Texture: It's a thick, rich texture. You can tell just by looking that it's going to be deeply moisturizing. Might be a bit heavy for summer use. Application: Spreads smoothly and easily. It's not the type that applies thinly by itself. If you take a small amount and gently massage it in, it can be applied thinly. If you apply it like a regular emulsion, it goes on thicker. Scent: Fragrance-free (which is great - I prefer unscented products over ones with unnecessary fragrances) For my oily skin, this cream alone provides enough hydration. Oily skin types should avoid layering too many products as it can lead to excess oil production and blemishes the next day. That's why I don't typically use a heavy skincare routine. These days, I wipe my face with a pad, apply a non-moisturizing essence, and finish with this cream. I usually use an essence for hydration and a cream for moisture, each playing its specific role. The Derma Plan Ultra Balm Cream definitely fulfills its purpose! It absorbs well into the skin and has a nice, firm texture. It's so gentle! Truly gentle. Some high-end skincare products can be a bit harsh on the skin, even with their advanced formulations. I always test products before using them regularly, and this one is genuinely gentle. It's mild enough even for sensitive skin! Its biggest advantage is how well-rounded it is. It's great for winter use! No blemishes and good moisturization! P.S. I'll add more feedback after using it longer Since I don't layer it multiple times or apply it thickly, I haven't experienced any breakouts or clogged pores! I just apply a thin layer to finish my routine. And it doesn't make my skin overly oily! Just the right amount of moisture. If my skin gets too oily, I'm guaranteed to get at least one blemish. Maybe because I apply it sparingly, but the amount seems generous! Seems like a great basic product to stock up on during sales!
ConsAs mentioned in other reviews, the lack of a spatula is really inconvenient. This thick cream texture can easily collect dust. Please include a spatula! It applies thickly. It's not the type that spreads thinly. But that's just the nature of its texture, so it can't be helped. I haven't experienced any makeup sliding since I don't apply much of this in the morning. I only use it at night.
TipHighly recommended for nighttime skincare routine before bed! Recommended for its amazing moisturizing power!

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsFirst off, my skin type is dry and sensitive with a history of atopy. During winter and seasonal changes, my skin gets really dry and more sensitive. This cream, true to its name as a night cream, has a balm-like texture mixed with cream. It's quite rich, so I use it for soothing during my nighttime skincare routine. After applying, it feels like it creates a moisturizing barrier, which helps calm my skin before bed. I have skin prone to redness, and any irritation shows up immediately, making my skin turn red. That's why I only use products that can soothe my skin. This has been my go-to basic skincare item, especially in fall and winter. While it's great for dry skin, those with oily skin might find it too heavy. I highly recommend testing it at the store or getting a sample to try before purchasing.
ConsDrawbacks: 1. No spatula included 2. Can cause makeup to pill if used after application (recommended for nighttime care) 3. Has a slight scent (antiseptic-like?), though it dissipates quickly Other than these, I'm satisfied with the product and continue to use it.
TipInstead of lip balm, I apply a generous amount and gently wipe off any dead skin cells with a cotton swab, leaving my lips super soft. It's also great for applying to dry areas like heels. If you have a spatula from another product, use that for hygienic application. It's better for keeping things clean.
