I like the formula, as it seems to be good for hydration, and it feels like it's holding onto the previous products I've applied, creating a protective barrier. ◽I like the overall white packaging The whole packaging of the Derma product from The Face Shop is white and blue, which makes me feel calm and like my skin will improve. ◽The volume is generous While it's not an old product, my skin gets very dry in the mornings and evenings, so I apply a lot. I also don't bring body lotion when I go to the gym, so I just apply this extra moisturizer to the dry areas, and there's still a lot left. The generous volume is great.
Cons◽There's no spatula. Using my fingers to scoop it out every time doesn't seem very hygienic, so it would be better if a spatula was included. ◽It's heavy. As I mentioned, it does a good job of locking in moisture and not letting it evaporate, but that's because it's heavy. While it may work well for those with dry skin like me, I don't think it would be suitable for those with oily skin.

First, the application is great! I was worried the formula would be thick, but it glides on thinly and smoothly. It's moisturizing! These days I just use the toner and this product, and even in the winter, I didn't feel dryness!! Since it's so moisturizing, my skin felt smooth and even in the morning. I'm not sure if it's because of this product, but my acne scars have faded a bit and my blemishes seem to have decreased as well! I've heard that if you properly hydrate skin with acne scarring, the redness can fade, and that seems to be the case here.
ConsI applied a different cream in the morning, so it didn't bother me, but the formula feels a bit heavy, so it might be burdensome to apply before doing my makeup in the morning. It's a bit oily! When I woke up, my T-zone was a bit shiny with excess sebum, even though my U-zone was smooth. There's no spatula :( For hygiene purposes, it would be great if a spatula was included.

The cream's texture is not as thick as you might expect! But the moment you apply it to your face, it becomes white like an ointment and gets absorbed!! Compared to other products, it's a bit thinner in texture than Atopalm's Real Barrier, but it has a similar level of moisturizing power. The application is like an ointment, and the absorption is not extremely fast. But it doesn't feel sticky or leave residue. However, if you apply too much, it can feel a bit stuffy.
ConsThe smell is kind of like an ointment ㅋㅋ It's not a good smell, but it's not bad either, so I'm still using it. The product doesn't have a spatula...ㅜㅜ So it's not very hygienic.. The product's case is bigger than expected, but it's not heavy, so I don't know why they made it so big..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
TipFor those who find skincare routines troublesome in the winter, you can just apply this cream after your skin toner, and you won't feel dry! I'm not extremely dry-skinned, but it's really moisturizing. After applying, a slightly film-like layer forms on the skin!

Even though it's a night-time type, it applied more lightly than the Etude House Soonjung Cream I used to use. With the Etude cream, if I applied too much, I would immediately get breakouts. So lately I've been using The Saem cream instead. Lastly, the price was great! These days, decent moisturizers usually cost around 30,000-40,000 won, but this one at 22,000 won seems like a really good value. And when it's on sale, you can even get it for around 10,000 won! You don't even need to use expensive brand cosmetics - drugstore products these days have great ingredients and affordable prices, so I think I'll just stick to using drugstore cosmetics from now on.
ConsTo be honest, there's not really any major downside to this product for me. If I had to nitpick, I do prefer using products that come in tube packaging when choosing skincare, as I find it more convenient. Products where you have to scoop it out with your fingers tend to get dust and dirt in them, which doesn't seem very hygienic to me. So if this product came in a tube format, I think that would be even better!
TipFor those with milia or rosacea, I really recommend skipping the cotton pads when using toner! I had some stubborn milia on my forehead that just wouldn't go away, and then I realized it was because the cotton pads were pushing the milia back into my skin when I used toner. After I stopped using cotton pads and just applied this cream directly after cleansing, skipping the toner step, my skin's hydration improved and the redness/irritation calmed down a lot. Lately, with the cold weather, my face gets really red and irritated from the cold wind when I go outside. But applying the Soothing Treatment and then this cream really helps soothe and calm my skin.

First of all, my skin type is combination-sensitive with occasional small bumpy acne and a few big cystic acne. 1. The ingredients are so gentle that even those with sensitive skin like mine can use it without any trouble!! (Centella, green tea ingredients, etc.) In my case, I didn't experience any worsening of my skin troubles while using this product. 2. As I have extremely dry skin, I was really satisfied that this cream was able to fully hydrate my skin. When I wake up in the morning after applying it at night, my skin doesn't feel tight and is nicely moisturized. I think this is a great product to use especially in the harsh winter with strong cold winds. 3. It's fragrance-free, so those sensitive to scents can use it without any issues. 4. Even though it's a night cream, it doesn't feel overly oily. When applied thinly, it provides the right amount of occlusion while keeping the skin moisturized.
ConsFor oily skin types, this might be a bit too much, but if you apply it thinly, I think anyone can use it, even in the cold windy winter. - The only downsides I can think of are that if you apply too much, it can weigh down the hair on your forehead, and some say creams like this can potentially cause acne. Also, it's in a jar format without a spatula, so it's not the most hygienic to use (I used my own spatula).
TipSince this is a rather rich cream, you'll need to make sure your skin is well-hydrated underneath. I layered this over the Innisfree Blueberry Toner, patting it in several times, and then applied a light serum before putting on this cream in a thin layer.

I've been using Physiogel, but I was looking for something more nourishing with simple ingredients, and I'm glad I found this opportunity to use it.^^ * Fragrance Even though it's fragrance-free, some products can have a plastic-like smell, but this one barely had any. As I'm sensitive to fragrances during pregnancy, I was able to use this without any issues. * Texture and Moisturizing It's labeled as a 'balm', so I thought it would be really thick, but it actually applies smoothly and leaves a moisturizing film on the skin. It doesn't last all night, but I could feel the moisture for 4-5 hours. * Price I think the price is reasonable considering the volume. It has good value for money. And the jar has a scooping lid, so you can get every last bit. * Packaging The packaging design is clean, and the plastic material makes it lightweight, which I like. * Ingredients It contains glycerin and panthenol, which are good for dry skin, and it doesn't have any harmful ingredients, so I can use it with confidence.
Cons*There's no spatula, so it may not be very hygienic. You should use your own spatula. *It's a bit oily, so I only apply a generous amount at night and let it absorb. If you apply it in the morning, it may take some time to fully absorb.
Tip*If you want to stay moisturized even after waking up, apply this balm and then after 5 minutes, lightly pat in a few drops of facial oil. This will keep your skin feeling soft and supple until you start your day.

As someone with combination skin that can get quite dry, I found that this product applied and absorbed lightly without feeling heavy or overwhelming. It allowed me to use it daily without any discomfort. ✔️The finish is light and velvety, which made it a good base for applying sunscreen or other cosmetics on top. Since the product isn't too thin, it didn't cause any pilling or shifting of the layers above it.
Cons✔️The lack of a spatula is a bit concerning in terms of hygiene. ✔️The oil and moisture levels seem to be just moderate, which could be an issue for those with very dry or very oily skin - it may feel a bit lacking for dry skin and a bit too heavy for oily skin. ✔️The product has more of a balm-like texture, which made me feel like I was getting some minor pilling or small bumps after application.
TipI also found that I needed to apply a more lightweight moisturizer in the evenings to supplement the hydration from this product. But overall, it's a gentle formula that seems to play nicely with other skincare and makeup products.

This product was perfect for me! My skin is quite sensitive, so I usually break out if I use products with poor ingredients, but I didn't experience any breakouts or irritation while using this product. The formula is relatively heavy, which makes it great for the winter season, but it's not sticky or tacky, so it doesn't cling to my hair or leave marks on my pillow. Although the formula isn't refreshing or lightweight, it doesn't dry out quickly and maintains hydration for a long time. When I'm feeling lazy with my skincare routine, I can just apply this cream after toner and it's enough for me. This cream is perfect for the drying winter season, and I'd recommend it to those with dry or combination skin types.
ConsThe formula is a bit heavy, so it's not a product you can slather on generously. However, for my combination skin, a small amount was sufficient to provide good hydration. That said, I'd recommend those with oily skin to test it out first before purchasing. Also, I wish the product came with a spatula, as the jar packaging could be more hygienic without one.
TipI'd recommend applying this product in smaller amounts and reapplying multiple times, rather than applying a thick layer all at once. Personally, I found that using this product at night before bed was more beneficial than using it in the morning.

I don't have extremely sensitive skin, but I do sometimes get breakouts when I use incompatible skincare products. I was selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer and this is my review after using the product for 4 days in the evenings!! 🎄 Moisturization The product had a texture that was in between a balm and a cream, which I think is perfect for using in the winter. I had hoped it would be like a moisturizing cream as the final step in my skincare routine, and when I washed my face in the morning, I felt like there was a moisture barrier left behind. There was no tightness at all after washing, so I felt this was a very moisturizing product! 🎄 Gentleness First of all, I don't have extremely sensitive skin and most products don't cause any particular reaction for me. However, I had an experience in the past where I used a Bring** orange cream and my skin completely freaked out. So whenever I try a new product, if I feel any itchiness or stinging, I just stop using it. But with this product, I didn't feel anything at all when I applied it. I currently have a few blemishes on my chin area, and there was no stinging sensation even when the product touched those troubled spots. So I felt this was a very gentle formula! (During the 4 days of using it only at night, I didn't experience any breakouts.) 🎄 Fragrance-free I prefer fragrance-free skincare products, and I don't really like it when products use natural oils to create a scent either. This product was completely fragrance-free, which I loved!! Some people who are very sensitive to scents might detect a slight medicinal or ointment-like smell, but I would just consider this to be fragrance-free. 🎄 Price and Volume I applied a generous amount on the first day, but found the absorption to be a bit slow, so I started using a thinner layer after that. Even with the thinner application, the moisturization was still sufficient for me! I think this cream will last me a long time when I use it sparingly. The retail price is in the 20,000 won range, but I was able to find it discounted to around 15,000 won on various sites. I think the price-to-volume ratio is a great value.
Cons🎃 Absorption When I applied the product in a thin layer, I had the feeling that it might cause makeup to slip on top of it... It had a sense of creating a moisturizing barrier, if you will. So I initially used it at night like a sleeping pack, and I think for oily skin types or those with a lot of oil in the T-zone, using this cream in the morning before makeup could feel a bit heavy. 🎃 No spatula I did have a spatula at home that I used, but for hygiene purposes, a spatula would be ideal for this product. 🎃 Shea Butter Ingredient For oily skin types or those who have trouble with exfoliation and clogged pores leading to breakouts, the shea butter ingredient could potentially be problematic. Since this is such a dense balm-like texture, the moisturization is great, but depending on skin type, this could be a pro or a con.
Tip🎁 While I don't have any special tips, I would recommend applying a generous amount of the product on your face in the evenings. Any leftover product on your hands can be applied to the skin around your nails, cuticles, and the backs of your hands - this will leave your hands feeling super soft in the mornings!

So I tried a sample recently and liked it so much that I ended up purchasing it.
ConsThere wasn't really anything disappointing, but if I had to pick something, it would be the lack of a spatula, which makes it difficult to control the amount and not very hygienic to have to scoop it out with your hands.
TipFor those with oily noses, it's best to apply the cream to your cheeks, chin, and forehead, and then use the remaining amount on your nose. This will help reduce the shiny, greasy look a bit.
