  Embryolisse is a French skincare brand renowned for products developed by dermatologists. Their star product, Lait-Crème Concentré, is my go-to hydration cream. Interestingly, I've heard a famous TV shopping host uses it as a primer when makeup doesn't sit well in the morning. Others use it as a mask or even a makeup remover, showcasing its versatility as the brand's flagship multi-functional product. In my experience, Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré seems to work quite well even for combination dehydrated skin. I'm in my fifties and have tried nearly every moisturizer out there over the past 35 years, but this is a product I've purchased multiple times with my own money. Research shows that the Hydra-Serum in the formula helps address deep dryness. Another advantage is that it absorbs well without feeling sticky, making it suitable for summer use. For combination dehydrated skin, which can appear oily on the surface but feel dry underneath, I recommend applying a light hydrating essence or serum first, then finishing with this cream.

  Pros

  I tried this product after hearing it's a favorite among makeup artists, and I can see why! When used before makeup, it seems to have a primer-like effect. My makeup adheres better than usual and looks more polished. Even in the afternoon, there's noticeably less oil on my forehead!

  Cons

  I have combination skin and used this for about 3 days, but small bumps appeared on my forehead. I'm not sure if it's actually good for hydration. In fact, when applied after a moisturizing cream, it seems to create a slightly semi-matte finish.

  Tip

  When opening, use the pointed tip attached to the lid to pierce the seal. Do this gently with little force. If you push too hard, the hole becomes too large, making it difficult to control the amount dispensed.

  Pros

  Truly amazing at holding makeup in place. It works as a primer and moisturizer in one. You could even skip your skincare routine and just apply this before foundation. It effortlessly creates that coveted Inner Glow makeup look! That's why I always used this for special events and TV appearances.

  Cons

  However, a few hours after application, tiny blemishes start to appear. You might have to deal with bumpy skin for a few days. It's extremely rich and can be quite irritating.

  Tip

  Since the blemishes don't disappear quickly with this product, I've decided not to use it again. I'll have to give up on achieving that quick and easy glowing makeup look. If you don't have super sensitive skin, I highly recommend giving this a try!

  I can't really think of any positive aspects...

  Cons

  The very next day after applying it, I developed contact dermatitis around my mouth. Even worse, overnight my skin broke out with large, inflamed blemishes - not just regular acne. I bought this because I saw so many rave reviews on Instagram, but it seems it doesn't suit me at all. I have super sensitive skin, so I can't use just anything carelessly. My skin had been improving recently, but after using this, it flared up again badly. I definitely don't recommend it. For reference, I have sensitive combination skin.
