When applied before foundation, it creates a moisturized and firm base, pairing especially well with matte to semi-matte foundation formulas (e.g. Hera Silky Stay). While not dramatic, using this product noticeably improves foundation adherence, resulting in better makeup longevity. They claim it has a rose scent, but it's more of an artificial rose fragrance? It smells like air freshener, which might be polarizing... Personally, I'm not a fan. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 26, 2020
I tried this at the shop and loved how well it adhered, so I bought it. When I applied just the base, it gave me a polished complexion that looked put-together without seeming like I was wearing makeup. When mixed with foundation, it clings to the skin perfectly, eliminating the need for touch-ups throughout the day. After checking the Hwahae ingredient analysis, I'm a bit disappointed to see some less-than-ideal components. It might be best to use this sparingly. Using the Cle de Peau dedicated puff enhances the adherence even more. The puff has different uses on each side, so try using it according to its intended purpose. I was very satisfied with the results. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 16, 2020
My skin isn't particularly problematic with makeup, just a bit dry, so I never felt the need for a base product. But Qusell La Base has changed my makeup game. For those with dry skin, I don't think there's a better base to help makeup adhere (I might be exaggerating a bit, haha). After trying what a makeup artist used, I was instantly sold on its ability to make makeup last longer, stay put, and keep skin hydrated. There's a larger size available, but I started with the 30ml to test it out before committing to the bigger one. While it doesn't improve skin tone, it definitely makes foundation and cushions apply more smoothly and keeps skin hydrated! Can't see how much product is left, slightly pricey for the amount you get, and no physical stores to purchase from (though shipping is super fast). For those with dry skin, it works even better if you spritz on some face mist before applying this base. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 20, 2019
After hearing that a famous Cheongdam-dong shop uses this product, I immediately bought it to try. I have combination dehydrated skin with a dry inner layer and oily T-zone. When I applied this product after sunscreen and before foundation, I was thrilled to find that it significantly reduced dryness while maintaining the foundation's adherence. The price is reasonable too, with the 30ml size in the 20,000 won range. Since you don't need to use much per application, I think it will last quite a while. I honestly can't think of any downsides. Though it seems they don't have any offline stores...? Apply it primarily to dry areas before putting on foundation. I focus on applying it around my eyes and mouth, while avoiding the T-zone where I tend to get oily. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 5, 2019
I bought this along with a foundation brush from Cuchel. Although I have combination skin, I often feel dryness, especially deep dryness. Before using this product, I used Espoir's Skin Smoothing Glowrizer. I know these hydrating bases help with dryness and improve foundation adherence and longevity. Even with a moisturizing foundation, if your skin is dry, it can break down, which isn't good for deep dryness or appearance. Compared to Espoir's Glowrizer, this absorbs into the skin faster. While it's a gel formula, it's a bit richer than Espoir's, which I find better for busy mornings. When my skin barrier is weakened, I tend to get blemishes. Also, it's disappointing that I can't tell how much product is left in the container. Apply it like a primer, focusing on the cheeks and forehead. Use the remaining amount on your nose area for better adherence.
