First, let me describe my skin: it's extremely oily, prone to large, painful blemishes that appear in twos or threes during my menstrual cycle, and experiences deep dryness after cleansing. Usually, I prefer cleansers with rich lather that leave my skin feeling squeaky clean. While the Hayejin Rice Pila Cleansing Foam doesn't produce an abundant lather due to its gentle formula, it still foams up nicely for a low-irritation cleanser. Notably, I felt less deep dryness after washing. Though its cleansing effectiveness isn't particularly strong, it seems perfect for makeup-free days or morning cleansing routines.
ConsFor someone with oily, blemish-prone skin that still experiences deep dryness, the cleansing power feels a bit weak. It doesn't quite give that refreshing clean feeling after washing. The gentle formula means the lather isn't as rich as I'd like, which is slightly disappointing.
TipAs it's a cleansing product, there aren't many special tips to share. I'd recommend first washing your hands with this product, then squeezing some onto wet hands to work up a good lather before applying to your face. The foam doesn't build up easily, so if you don't create enough lather, the product might not spread well on your skin.

Being mildly acidic, it's gentle yet packs a punch in terms of moisture. After cleansing, my skin felt so soft! As someone whose skin easily dries out in winter, I prefer foam cleansers with good hydration, and this one absolutely exceeded my expectations in that department! True to its moisturizing claims, it feels amazing during the cleansing process.
ConsThe scent might be a bit divisive, but I personally didn't mind it. However, the texture is a bit... firm, shall we say? This made it somewhat difficult to squeeze out. Also, it doesn't lather up very richly, so you need to work it quite a bit to get a decent foam.
TipI'm currently using the Dokja Biome Essence, and when I apply it as the first step after cleansing with this product, my skin becomes incredibly soft and hydrated! Highly recommended!

I'm prone to blemishes, so I'm extremely careful when choosing products for my face. It seems to be gentle as I didn't feel any irritation on my skin. No acne or blackheads appeared either - amazing! My previous cleansing foam left my skin parched, forcing me into an oily skincare routine, but this one is less drying. Despite being mildly acidic, it has quite good cleansing effectiveness. It didn't remove tint stains, though! When you squeeze it, about a fingernail-sized amount comes out and then stops - I was like 'Huh?', but that's actually enough to create sufficient foam!
ConsThe texture of this cleansing foam isn't really my cup of tea. Also, it seems a bit pricey - I don't think I'd repurchase it. I need to feel refreshed after washing, and while I thought I could still get that sensation with a mildly acidic formula, I didn't. If you're like me, I wouldn't really recommend it. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars!
TipI'm not sure if it's just me, but if you keep pressing, it stops at just the right amount! Try holding it down for a bit.

However, finding a product that satisfies cleansing effectiveness, hydration, and ingredients was challenging. When low pH cleansing foams became popular, I tried one from another brand. While it excelled in ingredients and hydration, it barely removed makeup. Unwilling to compromise on cleansing power or hydration, I've been following a tedious cleansing routine: [Lip and eye remover - Cleansing oil or regular cleansing foam - Low pH cleansing foam]. Then I was lucky enough to be selected as a Hwahae Tester and got to try the 'Rice Pilla Cleansing Foam'. Pros: 1. Cleansing effectiveness The best part is its cleansing power! Initially, I had low expectations due to its low pH and thought I'd use it for morning cleansing. However, it proved to be just as effective as regular cleansing foams. I use mascara fixer, so after removing point makeup with lip and eye remover, I use this product directly without oil. It removes makeup thoroughly. 2. Hydration I thought effective cleansing and hydration couldn't go hand in hand, but this product excels at both. My skin feels much less dry and incredibly soft after use! 3. Lather I've seen mixed reviews about the lather, but in my experience, sometimes it lathers really well, and other times it's more of a bubbly texture. Either way, it's sufficient for me! It's definitely not on the non-lathering side. 4. Ingredients While the fragrance is disappointing, the ingredients are much gentler compared to other cleansing foams. 5. Packaging The squeeze tube design is hygienic and easy to use, allowing you to control the amount you need.
ConsDrawbacks: 1. Scent The fragrance is the one flaw in an otherwise perfect ingredient list, and personally, I'm not a fan of the scent. Initially, I thought it smelled nice, but as I continued using it, the scent felt stronger than expected.
TipTip: Lather the foam in your hands with some water before applying it to your face for a better foam consistency!

I heard somewhere that slightly acidic cleansing foams are good for skin health. Seeing various brands selling these, I was thinking about trying one for my morning cleanse when I won the chance to test this product through The Hwahae Testers! To be honest, I've been putting off using low pH cleansers because I've heard they don't lather well and lack cleansing power due to their gentleness. I always felt like a proper cleanse needed rich foam, thorough scrubbing, and a squeaky clean finish without any slippery feeling. But my skin always felt dry afterwards. The Hayejin Rice Filler Cleansing Foam has a slightly thick, paste-like texture that made me wonder if it would cleanse well. Surprisingly, it lathered up nicely! Unlike cleansing foams that leave a powdery finish and feel gritty while massaging, this foam felt soft and gentle on the skin. My skin is currently very sensitive and irritated around my nose and mouth due to allergies, but this cleanser didn't sting at all thanks to its mildness. Despite its gentle feel, it doesn't seem to compromise on cleansing effectiveness. In winter, my skin gets extremely dry and itchy if I don't moisturize immediately after cleansing, but with this product, that feeling is noticeably reduced!
ConsThose with extremely dry skin hoping for a super moisturizing cleanser without any squeaky clean feeling might find this slightly lacking. It might be more suitable for those with slightly dry, normal, or combination dehydrated skin!
TipRecommended for those looking for a low pH, gentle cleanser with soft foam, a pleasant feel, and a slightly moisturizing cleanse!

It gives a slippery, silky feeling while cleansing. However, once you've rinsed it off, that slick sensation completely disappears. Even though it doesn't produce an abundance of foam, it leaves your skin feeling thoroughly cleansed and refreshed. Being slightly acidic, it seems to be less irritating to the skin. The ingredients appear to be gentle, and I appreciate that the foam cleanser has a unique texture, almost like a cream or essence. It doesn't dissolve too quickly in water, which is a plus.
ConsFor those with dry skin, it might actually cause a bit of tightness. It seems like it would be perfect for people with normal skin types. As for blemishes, I'm not sure, but it didn't seem to have any special effect on skin types prone to dead skin cells.
TipI'd recommend moving on to your skincare routine immediately after cleansing. Although I have slightly dry skin and the cleanser felt smooth during use, which made me think it would suit dry skin, I noticed my skin felt drier than expected as time passed.

I have combination dehydrated skin that's super oily in summer and combination-oily in winter. I'm also prone to blemishes, so my skin is always super sensitive, making it difficult to switch up my skincare products. ✔️Texture: It's a thick consistency and you need to squeeze the tube firmly to dispense the product. ✔️Application: It lathers well and feels similar to other foam cleansers. However, for a low pH cleanser, it feels less slippery. After washing and patting dry, my skin feels dry quickly despite being oily. ✔️Blemishes: After using it for a week, my blemishes didn't worsen and my skin didn't become more sensitive. ✔️Scent: Almost fragrance-free, but there's a slight medicinal scent. ✔️While it's good that it suits my skin, there weren't any other standout benefits. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments!
ConsPrice: At 27,000 won, honestly, I won't repurchase. It seems expensive for the amount you get, and even disregarding the quantity, there's nothing particularly great about it. It's not something I'd go out of my way to use again.

If you purchase with these expectations, you'll likely be satisfied. It's not designed for dramatic effects, but rather as a mild, unobtrusive, low pH foam that's great for daily use, even in the morning. As someone with combination skin prone to blackheads and closed comedones, I personally prefer a cleanser more targeted towards pores and blemishes.
ConsThe ointment-like texture makes it a bit challenging to squeeze out. Also, perhaps because I'm used to using a foam maker and tried this with bare hands, it doesn't seem to lather as richly. At 27,000 won for 100ml, it's a bit pricier compared to other low pH cleansers.
TipUsing a foam maker will create a richer, denser lather for cleansing. The website suggests mixing in a bit of rice bran oil before lathering for enhanced moisturizing effects. Any face oil you have at home should work fine.

As someone with blemish-prone skin, I've recently switched to using a low pH cleansing foam. 2. The previous low pH foam I was using didn't lather much, which was a bit disappointing, but this one creates quite a decent amount of foam (though not excessively). 3. Moreover, I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, but my face seems to have become a bit brighter and feels softer. 4. Although I've only used it for a few days, overall, it's hard to find any shortcomings with this product.
Cons1. The price... is a bit high, which is unfortunate. 2. This is a minor issue, but you need to apply a bit of pressure when squeezing it out. Maybe it's because it's the first time using it after opening? Anyway, it requires a little extra effort.

Ingredients Looking at the ingredients on Hwahae, they seem to be good. It uses natural surfactants that remove impurities deep within the dead skin cells without irritating the skin, while providing hydration. Its slightly acidic pH, similar to skin, helps maintain healthy skin condition. As the product name suggests, it contains rice bran oil and rice extract, which are great for skin brightening and moisturizing. So you probably won't need to cleanse with rice water separately. 2. Texture It has a soft and elastic texture. Usually, cleansers with exfoliating properties have granules that might irritate sensitive skin, but this product has an incredibly soft and elastic cream-like texture. It might look a bit stiff when you first apply it, but it melts smoothly when it comes into contact with water. 3. Lather I tried lathering with both cold and warm water using my hands, and it lathers quite well. Typically, low pH products don't lather well, but this one creates a nice foam for gentle cleansing. If you have a foam pump or cleansing net, you can create an even richer lather. 4. Cleansing Effectiveness I applied various makeup products on my hand including sunscreen, foundation, lipstick, tint, eyeshadow, mascara, and eyebrow product. After 20 minutes, I washed it off. As you can see in the photo, some lip and eye makeup remained. The cleansing power seems to be on the milder side. Of course, if you use this as a second cleanser after oil cleansing, everything comes off. While it doesn't leave your skin squeaky clean, it doesn't leave a slippery residue either. I've been looking for a low pH cleanser that removes makeup thoroughly, and this one seems pretty good. (It's somewhere between squeaky clean and slippery.) 5. Hydration Maybe it's because I have oily skin, but I didn't feel much tightness or dryness after cleansing. However, in the dead of winter, your skin might feel dry if you don't moisturize immediately after cleansing. If you have dry skin, you should probably apply moisturizer right after washing. 6. Packaging The tube type packaging makes it convenient for travel without worrying about leaks. The product comes out smoothly without being too stiff, so I'm satisfied with the packaging. Like all tube-type products, I wonder if the cap might become loose after prolonged use. 7. Scent While I'm not particularly sensitive to fragrances, I think this product would be fine even for those who are. It mainly has a rice-like scent... which I liked. However, if you have skin that reacts sensitively to certain fragrances, make sure to check before purchasing.
Cons1. Packaging As others have mentioned, I wonder if so much paper is really necessary to protect the product. It feels like excessive packaging. 2. Price The price of 27,000 won for 100ml seems a bit expensive. I might consider buying it when it's on sale, but otherwise, there are many products with good ingredients at more affordable prices that I'd probably use instead.
