As someone with extremely dry skin, I didn't experience any tightness or dryness after using this product! Moreover, it's gentle enough that I felt safe using it without worrying about irritation.
ConsUnfortunately, I found more downsides than positives. Firstly, the scent was reminiscent of lemon-mint, which wasn't to my personal taste. More importantly, I wasn't satisfied with its cleansing effectiveness. I typically use this foam cleanser after a quick oil cleanse, but it struggled to remove mascara completely, leaving me with smudged makeup under my eyes post-wash. Because of this, I had to ensure I removed my makeup thoroughly with cleansing oil before using this product. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for powerful cleansing action.
TipI noticed many reviews mentioning difficulty in creating a lather, but some users suggested using warm water helps produce a good foam. I tried this method myself and found it worked well for lathering up during cleansing.

I don't have particularly sensitive skin, so I rarely break out or develop acne from using cosmetics. Before using this cleansing foam, I had been sleeping poorly for about two weeks, which left my skin looking dull and slightly yellow. Amazingly, after just one day of using this product, I noticed my complexion improving and becoming more radiant. While results may vary for different people, I believe consistent use of this cleansing foam could significantly improve your skin within a month. I've included some before and after photos: - The second photo shows my skin before using the cleansing foam. - The third photo was taken after two days of use, then visiting home without the product (forgot to bring it, unfortunately), resulting in some blemishes. - The fourth photo shows my skin after three days of consistent use! To sum up the positives, this is by far my favorite cleansing foam I've ever used! 1. Even on the first day, I could see my skin looking brighter after washing. 2. Unlike other cleansers I've used, this one leaves no residue or unclean feeling. 3. It seems to help blemishes heal faster. 4. My skin is gradually becoming more translucent and smoother. 5. There's no tight feeling after washing (I have slightly dry, dehydrated skin). My roommate, who has a different skin type, also tried it and agreed that it's a great product. She noticed her skin becoming smoother and her blemishes improving.
ConsIf I had to mention any downsides, the scent is quite strong for a cleansing foam. I'm not usually sensitive to fragrances, but even I found it a bit intense at first (those with fragrance sensitivities might want to be cautious). The foam isn't extremely rich, but you can still get a decent lather by adjusting the water amount and working it between your palms. Another potential drawback is the price. As a college student, it might be a bit expensive for some budgets. However, if you're a working professional willing to invest in your skincare routine and want smooth, radiant, and clear skin, I think this cleansing foam is worth it. The tube may seem small in person, but it's packed full, so considering the effectiveness, the price seems reasonable (especially since I saw results in just one day!).
TipAs someone who loves a rich lather, here's my method: Squeeze out a coin-sized amount, add some water, and work it vigorously between your palms. Focus on areas prone to excess oil, like the sides of your nose, massaging each side at least 10 times. Then work on your cheeks and forehead, finishing with about 10 circular motions over your entire face before rinsing. While it won't magically eliminate blackheads, you can visibly see the improvement in the cleanliness of your skin, especially around the nose area.

However, finding a product that satisfies cleansing effectiveness, hydration, and ingredients was challenging. When low pH cleansing foams became popular, I tried one from another brand. While it excelled in ingredients and hydration, it barely removed makeup. Unwilling to compromise on cleansing power or hydration, I've been following a tedious cleansing routine: [Lip and eye remover - Cleansing oil or regular cleansing foam - Low pH cleansing foam]. Then I was lucky enough to be selected as a Hwahae Tester and got to try the 'Rice Pilla Cleansing Foam'. Pros: 1. Cleansing effectiveness The best part is its cleansing power! Initially, I had low expectations due to its low pH and thought I'd use it for morning cleansing. However, it proved to be just as effective as regular cleansing foams. I use mascara fixer, so after removing point makeup with lip and eye remover, I use this product directly without oil. It removes makeup thoroughly. 2. Hydration I thought effective cleansing and hydration couldn't go hand in hand, but this product excels at both. My skin feels much less dry and incredibly soft after use! 3. Lather I've seen mixed reviews about the lather, but in my experience, sometimes it lathers really well, and other times it's more of a bubbly texture. Either way, it's sufficient for me! It's definitely not on the non-lathering side. 4. Ingredients While the fragrance is disappointing, the ingredients are much gentler compared to other cleansing foams. 5. Packaging The squeeze tube design is hygienic and easy to use, allowing you to control the amount you need.
ConsDrawbacks: 1. Scent The fragrance is the one flaw in an otherwise perfect ingredient list, and personally, I'm not a fan of the scent. Initially, I thought it smelled nice, but as I continued using it, the scent felt stronger than expected.
TipTip: Lather the foam in your hands with some water before applying it to your face for a better foam consistency!

Perhaps due to the good ingredients, it felt really gentle when I used it, which I loved. My skin has been recovering from a recent flare-up, and I think this had a bit of a soothing effect. It might be suitable for those with super sensitive skin too. I was also surprised by its slight brightening effect - my complexion seems to have become a bit brighter.
ConsWell, the scent might be a bit divisive. It's similar to rice, but not exactly pleasant, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the texture isn't super rich, so it doesn't give that skin-hugging feeling. The consistency is a mix between soap and toothpaste. And the price is quite high... that's probably its main drawback.
TipIf you prefer a bit of lather, you might want to use a bit more than you would with your usual foaming cleanser!

It cleansed thoroughly without irritation, and I could open my eyes while washing without any stinging. A small amount produced plenty of foam, enough to cleanse the entire face, so it should last a long time. After cleansing, my skin felt brighter, though the effect didn't last long. I usually have a lot of dead skin cells due to my dry skin, but it seemed to remove them effectively. Despite the squeaky-clean feeling, there was no tightness after washing, and I didn't feel any dryness even without applying anything else.
ConsThe scent is disappointing, especially since there are products without artificial fragrances that still smell good. It has a soapy base smell that bothered me every time I used it. It's probably personal preference, but I don't particularly like the squeaky-clean feeling and would have preferred a more oil-rich texture. Although it didn't leave my skin dry or tight, someone who likes a more slippery finish might find it a bit lacking.

No slippery feeling Unlike most low pH products that leave a slippery feeling after cleansing, this one doesn't. That doesn't mean it's not moisturizing though. It feels about as hydrating as something between a regular cleansing foam and a low pH gel. 2. Gentle Recently, due to fine dust, I've been experiencing minor skin issues. So I didn't want to use anything harsh or irritating. While it doesn't have specific benefits for milia or acne, it seems gentle enough for sensitive skin. 3. Good lather For a low pH product, it lathers quite well. The foam isn't dense, but rather light and abundant. 4. Firm texture You'll notice when you squeeze it out that it's not a soft, easily diluted consistency. It has a very firm, concentrated texture, so a little goes a long way!
ConsThere aren't many downsides, but if I had to choose one, personally, I wish it were fragrance-free. It has a slightly sharp, fresh herbal scent, which I personally didn't care for.

First off, I experienced no irritation at all, and unlike others, I didn't feel any tightness after cleansing.
ConsThe scent was a bit off-putting. Also, since the foam and cleansing effectiveness were rather weak, I'd recommend using it as a second cleanse in the evening or as a morning cleanser rather than your primary evening cleanser.

This ensures the cleansing foam won't get squished or damaged during shipping. I love that they used recyclable paper instead of bubble wrap for padding! # Ingredients One of the biggest advantages seems to be the gentle ingredients. As you can see from the Hwahae ingredient analysis, there are no harmful components, so it feels like a trustworthy cosmetic product you can use with peace of mind. # Texture As you can see in the photo, the texture isn't soft, runny, or sticky. It has a slightly solid feel with a defined shape. When trying to lather it, it tends to bounce off your hands! It's like it's trying to escape. You'll understand what I mean when you try it yourself! Also, it doesn't produce a lot of foam, but that doesn't mean it doesn't absorb well! While I personally prefer a softer texture, it didn't bother me much. # Cleansing Effectiveness There's a perception that cosmetics with gentle ingredients aren't great at cleansing, so I didn't have high expectations. However, I was very satisfied as it worked better than I thought! Usually, I use makeup remover for point makeup before using cleansing foam, but to test its cleansing power, I tried washing with just the cleansing foam after full makeup. It removed almost everything except for a bit of mascara!! I was very pleased. # Skin Condition After Cleansing My skin type is combination dehydrated, and during seasonal changes, it gets especially dry, tight, and prone to blemishes. After cleansing, I deliberately waited a bit before applying skincare. My skin felt a bit taut, but it wasn't severely tight or tingling, which was good! # Design and Packaging The box color is so pretty, and the cleansing foam itself is white and clean-looking. It really gives the impression of rice and good ingredients!
Cons# Ingredients and Fragrance When I first opened and squeezed it out, I noticed a lavender scent! I saw that it contains lavender oil. This is just my personal preference, but I'm not a big fan of lavender scent, so that was a bit disappointing. # Price Considering that cleansing foam is used daily, the price of 27,000 won for 100ml might be a bit burdensome. # Texture If you prefer a sticky texture or a cleansing foam that produces a lot of lather like Senka, you might not be satisfied with the texture. # Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, but when rinsing after cleansing, it feels like the foam doesn't wash off cleanly with water, but rather leaves a slightly slippery feeling!

My skin is super sensitive and usually breaks out with the slightest mismatch, but this product didn't cause any blemishes at all. If anything, it actually calmed my skin down - it's such a perfect match for me! I've always experienced deep dryness with every product I've used until now, but this is the first one that doesn't leave my skin feeling tight at all. I usually use a foam net when cleansing, but this product creates rich lather even without one!
ConsI'm a bit concerned about the lavender oil in the ingredients list. Still, I haven't had any breakouts yet... I just wish the fragrance was a bit milder. Other than that, I have no complaints!

Since our skin benefits more from low pH cleansing foams, I prefer using them. However, after using low pH foams, I often felt like my skin wasn't thoroughly cleansed, so I've tried various products. That's why I was pleasantly surprised by the Rice Pila Cleansing Foam - it left my skin feeling refreshingly clean. The rich lather seemed to cleanse deep into my pores, and I felt it even helped with dead skin cell removal. I think I'll be sticking with Rice Pila for my cleansing foam from now on!
ConsWhile there weren't any significant drawbacks, I would have preferred if the lilac scent was a bit more subtle.
