When I apply this before bed, my blemishes are reduced by morning! It's quite potent, so it's best to use a cotton swab and apply a thin layer. I was amazed at how quickly I saw results when I first started using it. It tends to highlight dead skin cells in the applied area and causes quite a bit of itching. Even moisturizer doesn't help... While it works well on some blemishes, it seems ineffective on those hard, protruding ones. I woke up to find those particular spots unchanged. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 16, 2021
Skin type: Combination/Super sensitive skin 1. For blemish extraction: - I never physically extract pimples. Since physical extraction can lead to severe hyperpigmentation, I use acne patches or spot treatments instead. This product was effective when inflammation was visible on the skin's surface. 2. For painful acne (deep under the skin): - My skin responds better to ointments available at pharmacies rather than cosmetic products. Knowing that it could irritate my super sensitive skin, I applied only a small amount to specific areas. At first, I wasn't sure if it was working, but then itching started. The areas where I applied it on my cheeks and forehead became inflamed, and it spread to my left cheek and entire forehead. Even aloe gel couldn't calm it down, so I had to use prescription medication from the doctor. Since this product contains ingredients sensitive to UV rays, avoid using it in the morning and use only a tiny amount! If your skin reacts after use, lightly dampen a paper towel (avoid regular towels or tissues) with cool water and place it on your cheeks for a few minutes. This will help reduce the burning sensation significantly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 13, 2021
This product is specifically for hard, red, pustular acne rather than small bumps or blackheads. It has a thick, white texture that doesn't spread easily. The irritation and dryness are quite intense, so you need to gradually increase the amount used. I've always been worried about red acne, and now I wonder why I didn't use this sooner. There's really no other suitable alternative. You can definitely see the blemishes calming down when you wake up the next morning after applying it. As effective as it is, there are many side effects, so caution is needed when using it. At first, I applied it generously without knowing better, and suffered from stinging, itching, and extreme dryness. Make sure to research before using. It's a spot treatment product, so it's challenging to use on widespread acne. Depending on your skin, it may cause redness, dead skin cells, itching, or dryness, so you need to apply it carefully while closely monitoring your skin's reaction. It's best to start by applying it to larger blemishes one by one while observing the condition. Since it's extremely drying after application, it's good to moisturize after it's completely dry or apply it after your skincare routine (though applying over other products may slightly reduce its effectiveness, it also reduces irritation). The ingredients shouldn't be exposed to UV rays, and it dries to a white finish, so it's best to apply before bed. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 22, 2021
After not using it for a while, I tried it when my skin was at its worst. (Updated rating: 3 stars) I have various types of blemishes, and this was effective on those with pus but without redness. For other types, not so much... To be honest, pimples with pus usually form a scab and fall off, or subside on their own after a few days, even without applying ointment. Sometimes they can worsen due to poor habits. In my case, it's usually the former, and applying this ointment speeds up the healing process. (Previous rating: 1 star) It seemed ineffective... I had such high hopes. Everyone's skin is different, but mine must be super sensitive. I applied just a tiny dot as a spot treatment, and the next day it was swollen like a blister. (Updated) It wasn't effective on large inflamed blemishes, red inflammations, pustular acne, or areas prone to breakouts. (Previous) As mentioned in the pros, the day after use, a blister appeared... Other areas where I applied it still have itching, flaking, and redness even days after stopping use. My skin was so sensitive that even water droplets in the shower caused irritation. Those with sensitive skin or atopic dermatitis should avoid this! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 5, 2020
- It's great that many YouTubers use this product, making it easy to reference and adapt for personal use! - It's effective for initial control of large, inflamed blemishes! - Considering it's a spot gel, it's relatively affordable. - Overall, it's a pretty decent, no-frills product. - While it helps with large, inflamed blemishes, it only shortens the healing time by a day or two compared to the usual week-long process. Don't expect dramatic results. - After applying it for two weeks on a small pimple, I ended up just popping it myself. It didn't seem to reduce or heal the blemish at all. - Strangely, it causes a slight tingling sensation after application. It's not like an allergic reaction, but it's noticeable. Not itchy enough to scratch, though. - I believe this comes in different concentrations, and I'm using what I think is the strongest one. Honestly, I'm not sure if it lives up to the high praise some YouTubers give it. After completing your skincare routine, it seems more effective to gently wipe the blemish area with the cotton pad you used for your exfoliating toner, then apply the spot treatment directly. Layering it over your entire skincare routine might prevent it from properly absorbing and working its magic.
