I carefully checked the ingredients before buying this. Some tone-up creams with ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate make my eyes sting, cause discomfort when cleansing, and give me headaches. But this one's ingredients are what I like best about it! The application is great - it goes on smoothly and feels moisturizing. While the texture is a bit thick, it spreads easily and lightly. The brightening effect is subtle and natural, not too weak or overpowering. The color doesn't look ashy or stark white, so if you use the right amount, it gives a natural-looking complexion enhancement that looks like your own skin. It feels a bit heavy in summer. It's not deeply hydrating, but it gets heavier over time and has a thick feel. Like many brightening moisturizers, it tends to pill. It also accentuates dead skin cells. If you don't prep your skin well, it immediately emphasizes flakiness and doesn't sit right. Even with proper exfoliation and skincare, it applies fine at first but starts to pill in patches after a short while. Once you smooth those out, it stops pilling, but I'm desperately searching for a brightening moisturizer that won't pill no matter what I put underneath! When doing your skincare routine, try using half your usual amount of moisturizer and mix the other half with this brightening moisturizer. This significantly reduces dead skin cell emphasis and pilling. The trade-off is slightly reduced brightening effects, but you'll still get a natural-looking evened skin tone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 7, 2021
As someone who's struggled with acne scars and redness, this product is truly a ray of hope! I used to only be able to apply it at night before bed due to its white cast and pilling, but now my skin is gradually becoming fairer! I'm genuinely moved. If you're battling with redness, give this a try - you won't regret it! It leaves a noticeable white cast and pills like dead skin when applied for daytime use. I've been using it for a month by applying a generous amount before bed, patting it in when it leaves a white cast. The results have been amazing! - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 30, 2020
No positive points to mention... It might be okay for those with oily skin. The ingredients are supposedly good... For those with dry skin... think carefully before buying. I'm a Sidmool fan, so I bought it without checking reviews, but this one is really disappointing. I can't feel any moisturizing or hydrating effects at all. Don't expect it to be like a dewy brightening moisturizer that evens skin tone. Due to COVID, I haven't been wearing much makeup and wanted something light, but after using it about five times, I definitely don't recommend it for dry skin. In any case... - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinFeb 2, 2020
I'm using this to mix with my MAC foundation since the shade is too dark for me. There's no way I could use this on its own... It's supposed to be a bare-face cream, but it just sits on top of the skin and looks awful. I tried wearing it to the gym, and it came off completely as soon as I started sweating. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinDec 14, 2019
The best thing about this product is undoubtedly its ingredients! As someone with ultra-sensitive jellyfish-like skin, my face tends to throw a fit for various reasons - be it stress, overexertion, dryness, sweating, illness, trying new products, or even changing the amount of my usual skincare. Despite the harsh winter winds outside and desert-like conditions indoors, this product seems to keep skin blemishes at bay. I especially recommend it for those who prefer a no-foundation look. It gives a radiant finish, so I use it alongside sunscreen when I need an extra boost of brightness (see photo for reference). While it feels soft and moisturizing upon application, it dries to a silky finish! Note: My 3-star rating doesn't mean the product is bad, but rather that it's average with an equal balance of pros and cons. - Dryness: Despite having combination dehydrated skin that's dry even in summer, this product leaves my skin feeling overly matte, as if it's sucked out all the moisture. It continues to absorb more hydration as time passes... please stop! - Pilling issues: If you apply too much skincare underneath or if it hasn't fully absorbed, this cream doesn't absorb well and pills. To minimize this, pat it in gently and use only a small amount. The problem is, even with careful application, those with dry skin will need to constantly replenish moisture with face mists. It not only pills into white specks but can make your skin look like your makeup is separating or you have flaky dead skin cells - very noticeable! - Beware of dark clothing: After application, it gets stuck in the creases of your hands (see photo). There's also a slight oily residue, so be sure to wash your hands. While it does leave the skin feeling silky, it can transfer onto clothes, leaving white marks. You'll be able to tell exactly where your face touched your clothing, especially noticeable on dark outfits and black padded jackets (tears). More isn't always better! I recommend starting with a small amount, dotting it on your face, then gently patting and lightly massaging. If you want more coverage, add a bit more gradually. The moment you get greedy, your face can look ghostly... and if you rub too hard, it all pills up. Make sure your skincare is fully absorbed before applying, and personally, I apply sunscreen after this cream.
