I carefully checked the ingredients before buying this. Some tone-up creams with ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate make my eyes sting, cause discomfort when cleansing, and give me headaches. But this one's ingredients are what I like best about it! The application is great - it goes on smoothly and feels moisturizing. While the texture is a bit thick, it spreads easily and lightly. The brightening effect is subtle and natural, not too weak or overpowering. The color doesn't look ashy or stark white, so if you use the right amount, it gives a natural-looking complexion enhancement that looks like your own skin. It feels a bit heavy in summer. It's not deeply hydrating, but it gets heavier over time and has a thick feel. Like many brightening moisturizers, it tends to pill. It also accentuates dead skin cells. If you don't prep your skin well, it immediately emphasizes flakiness and doesn't sit right. Even with proper exfoliation and skincare, it applies fine at first but starts to pill in patches after a short while. Once you smooth those out, it stops pilling, but I'm desperately searching for a brightening moisturizer that won't pill no matter what I put underneath! When doing your skincare routine, try using half your usual amount of moisturizer and mix the other half with this brightening moisturizer. This significantly reduces dead skin cell emphasis and pilling. The trade-off is slightly reduced brightening effects, but you'll still get a natural-looking evened skin tone. - an******Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJul 1, 2024
It's so gentle that I can apply it before bed without any irritation. As time passes, my skin becomes beautifully bright. You need to apply it carefully as it can pill if you're not thorough. If not done right, it might make your face look oddly floaty. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 25, 2024
As someone with a darker complexion, this brightening moisturizer evens my skin tone very naturally I was hoping it might have some sun protection, which is a bit disappointing. But on the flip side, I can use it at night too, so I'm not sure if I can really call that a drawback - re********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 13, 2023
I've lost count of how many of these I've used, as I'm quite sensitive to ingredients. It's a product that even pregnant women can use with peace of mind. There's no pilling or anything unnatural about it - it's just great all around. Even my parents, who are usually oblivious to these things, have been commenting on how good my complexion looks and how my skin has improved, even when I'm not wearing makeup! There's honestly nothing to complain about. Sidmool's prices are so reasonable too! Even with the best products, moderation is key! In my case, I apply it when I'm going out bare-faced for a short while. When I'm putting on makeup, I only apply it to particularly dull areas. I also lightly apply it to my neck, which helps create a more natural transition between my face and neck color. - jo*******Combination SkinRecommendedOct 12, 2023
It's great that you can apply it easily on bare skin. When used after skincare, even a small amount is effective. I like how it brightens the complexion without feeling heavy. Since it's applied after skincare products, you need to take time to pat or massage it in thoroughly to prevent pilling. It's slightly inconvenient that you still need to apply sunscreen separately. For a nice no-makeup look, try layering thin layers of skincare, followed by this brightening moisturizer, and then sunscreen on top. Just remember, as it's simply a tone-up cream, it naturally doesn't provide coverage. - co******Combination SkinAcne SkinJun 1, 2023
This is the first brightening moisturizer I've ever purchased, so I did a ton of research comparing different products before buying this one. 1. Subtle tone-up on bare skin. It really just elevates your complexion by one shade. This could be seen as either a pro or a con, depending on your preference. 2. Smooth application that absorbs well. 3. High-quality ingredients. 1. Skin texture refinement and hydration are essential beforehand. When applied over a basic skincare routine, it can emphasize pores and dead skin cells. 2. The tone-up effect is minimal on naturally fair skin. 3. It feels similar to applying a mineral sunscreen with a white cast. The absorption is also quite slow when applying. If you have good skin, use this for a tone-up effect. But if you have issues with dead skin cells and pores like me, make sure to refine your skin texture first! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 15, 2023
The brightening effect was significant. My skin became noticeably fairer. I appreciate that the ingredients are gentle on the skin. Not recommended for dry skin. It feels as dry as if you've applied mineral sunscreen. No sense of hydration or richness. When you apply this, your skin feels tight, so you need to layer on a multi-balm afterwards. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedMar 19, 2023
It instantly brightens your complexion when applied. The rice bran extract naturally whitens your face, which is great. It would be nice to use as a lightweight and less harmful alternative to sunscreen on top of your base skincare. It doesn't provide much hydration, and since it has sun protection, it's better to apply it on top of your base skincare rather than using it as a replacement for your emulsion. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedJan 10, 2023
I switched from Snow White to this, and I feel like it makes my skin look even prettier! I don't use cushion or foundation anymore, just this, and I'm very satisfied. I get fewer blemishes, and it doesn't rub off on my mask. I don't think I'll need to use cushion or foundation again in the future! Whether it's Snow White or this one, when I apply it in the morning, I need to reapply at least once in the afternoon. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 5, 2022
For sensitive, dehydrated, dry, and problematic skin types: I always use Sidmool for my brightening moisturizer. I used to use Beauty's Snow Cream, but then I tried this rice bran one. Oops! Turns out this is recommended for oily skin, while Beauty's was for dry skin. I suspect this might be causing my skin to dry out and develop small blemishes... However, if you don't have extremely dry skin like mine that lacks even oil, this should be gentle and good for you! It's not the product's fault, I just chose the wrong one for my skin type. The product itself is good: 1. Scent Unscented - great! 2. Texture Nice and smooth - good! 3. Lasting power Seems to last about 3-4 hours 4. Value for money Good! Dry skin types should avoid this... While it could be due to the summer weather, I feel like I'm getting more blemishes
