A big plus is that it's quite affordable considering its effectiveness.
ConsI occasionally experience blemishes, which might indicate some irritation for my skin. It's best to apply this product sparingly when your skin barrier is strong, gradually increasing usage as you observe its effects.
TipAvoid using this when your skin is feeling sensitive. When your skin barrier is in good condition, start by applying a small amount to your cheeks. Monitor your skin's reaction and slowly expand the application area if all goes well.

I can't say much about other aspects.
ConsI have oily skin, and this product was too greasy, which actually made my sebum production worse. Also, when I used this along with The Ordinary's Niacin, I got a severe breakout of small bumps, so I had to stop using it. I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin types.

It's important to test it on a patch of skin other than your face, and even with low concentrations, apply small amounts gradually to ensure it suits your skin. I haven't seen dramatic effects yet, but I haven't experienced any negative reactions either. So, I'm still using it once or twice a week, taking it out of the refrigerator to apply.
ConsWhile it worked well for me personally, I have combination dehydrated skin, so when I initially applied too much, it felt heavy. Unfortunately, I even got a small blemish the next day, which was disappointing!
TipFrom then on, I applied it differently: toner -> small amount of retinol mixed with cream. I've heard it's best to apply retinol to dry skin, so I waited until the toner was fully absorbed before applying.

Since I heard it could cause irritation, I'm using an entry-level version. I've noticed that layering it with other products can make my skin oily and cause blemishes, so I've simplified my skincare routine. Now, I apply just one or two drops to the pigmented areas as the final step. The texture is quite oily, and while it takes some time, it does absorb partially. After using it for over six months, I thought it wasn't working, but recently I've been focusing on applying retinol around my mouth where makeup couldn't cover the discoloration. As time passed, I noticed the pigmentation significantly fading, making me realize this is definitely a keeper in my routine!
ConsBe careful with the amount you apply - using too much can irritate your skin and cause blemishes!
TipIf you have stubborn pigmentation on your face, try this: after a light skincare routine, apply just one drop of this product to the affected areas before bed. You'll see the difference in just a few weeks! Remember, retinol is sensitive to sunlight, so only use it at night and don't forget to apply sunscreen during the day!

Super sensitive - one wrong product and I break out in blemishes or my skin goes haywire. In my late 20s, after 20 toning sessions followed by skydiving, frequent Southeast Asian trips, and hobbies like hiking and cycling, I noticed more dark spots and thinner skin compared to before the toning. I decided consistent home care was better for managing hyperpigmentation than further toning treatments. Can't give up Southeast Asian travel and hiking, so I've essentially accepted the dark spots. People say my skin looks good for someone in their 40s who's often outdoors. I always check ingredients for safety on the Hwahae app before purchasing. I buy products recommended by YouTuber Reina or find alternatives with similar ingredients. Why I bought it: I heard retinol can cause skin reactions in some people, so I started with Dr. Different Vita Lift A to introduce retinol. After confirming my skin tolerates it well, I felt ready for a higher concentration and purchased this product. Application and effects: As it's a water-based serum, the texture wasn't ideal for my dry skin, so I mixed it with Dr. Different Vita Lift. Many people commented that my sun-damaged summer skin looked brighter again. I apply The Ordinary Matrixyl first, then this product. Matrixyl has been discontinued and replaced with a peptide formula, I believe. My evening routine: Matrixyl (peptide) - retinol - cream My morning routine: Innovative Vitamin C, E, Ferulic - cream - sunscreen This regimen has noticeably improved my dark spots. Once I finish this 0.2% concentration, I've already purchased the 0.5% to level up. Of course, this can't compare to professional toning treatments at a dermatologist's office, which work faster if you can afford them and have good skin condition. Just be cautious with dark spots, as improper treatment can make them worse. Additional products I use as needed: Abib Gummy Sheet Mask Serum + Cream Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair (brown bottle) Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream Bepanthen Ointment
ConsOccasionally causes a stinging sensation and small blemishes may appear the next day. It's crucial to carefully control the amount used. As someone with dry skin, I wish it came in a cream form rather than just a water-based formula.

However, I occasionally experience some blemishes...
ConsI bought the one with the lowest concentration of retinol, worried it might not suit me. Sometimes when my skin isn't in great condition, it feels a bit harsh and I get what seems like blemishes...

After applying this, layering on plenty of moisturizer and generously spritzing toner beforehand feels like it nourishes the skin with hydration, improving its condition! Although the texture was rich, it can feel dry after absorption, so a cream is definitely necessary.
ConsIt seems to change a bit when exposed to sunlight and heat. I accidentally left it on a warm floor overnight, and when I used it the next day, I noticed some blemishes. Also, when my skin is super sensitive, like when I haven't slept well, using this can cause breakouts.

At least that's the impression I get.
ConsPerhaps because it's oil-based, my skin reacted badly the very next day after application. Tiny whiteheads popped up all over, like a sudden outbreak of milia. The irritation spread across my entire face... I tossed it after just two uses.

There's absolutely no irritation!
ConsBeing an oil-based product, it might cause some blemishes if you have oily skin like mine. I'm a bit disappointed it's not in a different formulation.

ConsAfter using this, I'm not sure if it's causing acne, but I'm experiencing blemishes on my skin
TipI recommend gradually increasing the amount when you first start using it
