First off, the scent is lovely! Even as a makeup novice, I find it applies smoothly with a brush without leaving much texture. The absorption is great too. The downside is... I'm not sure if it's just not suitable for oily skin, but it tends to settle into the creases around my nose and causes some oil to surface. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 1, 2020
First off, the coverage is excellent! When applied with a beauty blender, it doesn't feel dry at all and goes on smoothly. It's definitely improved since the reformulation. While I'm typically a shade 23, this seemed a bit light for my complexion. After about 10 hours of wear, it tends to bunch up around the mouth and nose areas, which isn't the most flattering look. With all the mask-wearing lately, I've found a great technique: apply with a flat foundation brush, then pat with a damp sponge. This method helps minimize transfer onto your mask. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 8, 2019
As someone who usually only uses cushion foundations, this was my first time trying a proper liquid foundation! 1. Color: I use shade 23, and I consider my skin tone to be slightly darker. I love a bright complexion, but sometimes the Black Cushion in 23 felt a bit too light. This foundation, however, is slightly more toned down while still brightening, making it a perfect match for me! It's not exactly a natural skin tone, but I love it (it gets closer to my actual skin tone as it oxidizes). 2. Coverage: In my opinion, the coverage is high. I have some small blemishes and acne scars on my cheeks, but after applying the base, I can cover them completely with just a bit more foundation on those areas. It even seems to cover dark circles to some extent! I'm very satisfied :) 3. Texture: It's not extremely matte, more of a semi-matte finish. However, as time passes, my cheeks tend to get dry, so I make sure to moisturize that area well before application. 4. Longevity: As a student, I wear makeup for long hours, and when I get home, it still looks pretty decent. I have combination skin, so there's a bit of oil on my nose, and the coverage on my cheeks fades slightly (without touch-ups). But with just one touch-up, the coverage stays intact and looks almost perfect. Usually, I'm too lazy for touch-ups and don't carry my cushion around. So I can only touch up when I get home (usually after about 9 hours), and even then, I just pat it once with a cushion puff (to control oil and smooth out any clumping). Then I go out for a few more hours, and when I come back home, it still looks great! 1. Oxidation: I actually care quite a bit about oxidation, and this foundation seems to darken quite a lot. You might need to touch up frequently when you're out. 2. Creasing: This is actually about creasing in smile lines, which happens when I smile a lot... ^^ No foundation has survived my laughter yet. Just keep this in mind! 3. Skin texture: It's not particularly flattering. On days when my skin condition isn't great, it tends to clump and look a bit cakey.
