1. Honest color (helps even out skin tone, creates a healthy, natural-looking complexion like bare skin) 2. A matte foundation that's great for dry skin types 3. Thin, adherent coverage that doesn't cake 4. Less transfer onto masks 5. Rivals the Hera Black Cushion - really good! 6. Recommended for those who use Hera shade 23 (might feel slightly dark at first) 7. Achieves full coverage with minimal product 8. Seems gentle on sensitive skin, doesn't cause blemishes... I have atopic, sensitive skin and didn't have much reaction... Occasionally might get some if I don't cleanse well after wearing 1. Darkens somewhat quickly 2. A bit dark for shade 23, could use more brightening (though it helps create that bare skin look) If you're usually shade 22, try mixing the 23 foundation with leftover 21 foundation! (See unedited photo for reference) I mixed in a bit of 21 when I used it - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 11, 2020
I have a 22-23 skin tone with occasional blemishes and pus-filled acne! My skin isn't terrible, but when those red spots pop up or leave behind dark marks, it's really stressful. ✔️Adherence I use this with the Fillimilli brush, and I think it adheres excellently, covering pores without any patchiness. Just be careful not to apply too thick a layer... even with great adherence, it can transfer easily. I recommend applying a moderate amount with a brush! It pairs perfectly with the Fillimilli brush. ✔️Coverage The coverage is medium to high. While there are many high-coverage foundations and cushions out there these days, I think Hanyul's is on the higher end. Of course, high coverage can sometimes look cakey and thick, right? When I was younger, I used to think 'the more coverage, the better!' But now, I find super thick coverage can feel suffocating and doesn't look pretty. Hanyul's foundation isn't as thick as other high-coverage options, but it's not a thin formula due to its high coverage. So, I apply a thin layer all over, then add another light layer just on blemishes. I hardly used concealer with this! If you're bothered by a freshly popped pimple, just dab a bit of powder on that spot with a brush (don't layer on too much foundation as it's not a thin formula and can look heavy). ✔️Color The color was a bit off for me. Many people with shade 23 skin said it matched perfectly, but for me... it was a bit ambiguous. It's slightly dark and oxidizes, becoming a bit dull over time. I have a darker skin tone and prefer a brighter makeup look, but this felt like it became dully ambiguous. I felt this even more as it oxidized over time. But oxidation can vary, so make sure to test it yourself! I highly recommend testing the color at a store before buying! If you have extremely dry skin, rarely get blemishes, or hate thick-looking makeup, this might not be for you. If you have a lot to cover, oily skin, or prioritize coverage, give it a try! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJan 7, 2020
Since it's a quick-setting product, it's greatly influenced by your skin condition and skincare routine. There is some darkening of the shade. Initially, it feels like a bright shade 22, but after darkening, it becomes a very natural shade 23. It seems to darken about half a shade. • I personally don't mind as I prefer a natural look, but if you're after a brighter complexion, you might not like this. Given its very matte formula, layering it too much can make it look thick or cakey. It's best to lightly conceal pores or blemishes with a concealer first, then apply the foundation. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 8, 2019
As someone who usually only uses cushion foundations, this was my first time trying a proper liquid foundation! 1. Color: I use shade 23, and I consider my skin tone to be slightly darker. I love a bright complexion, but sometimes the Black Cushion in 23 felt a bit too light. This foundation, however, is slightly more toned down while still brightening, making it a perfect match for me! It's not exactly a natural skin tone, but I love it (it gets closer to my actual skin tone as it oxidizes). 2. Coverage: In my opinion, the coverage is high. I have some small blemishes and acne scars on my cheeks, but after applying the base, I can cover them completely with just a bit more foundation on those areas. It even seems to cover dark circles to some extent! I'm very satisfied :) 3. Texture: It's not extremely matte, more of a semi-matte finish. However, as time passes, my cheeks tend to get dry, so I make sure to moisturize that area well before application. 4. Longevity: As a student, I wear makeup for long hours, and when I get home, it still looks pretty decent. I have combination skin, so there's a bit of oil on my nose, and the coverage on my cheeks fades slightly (without touch-ups). But with just one touch-up, the coverage stays intact and looks almost perfect. Usually, I'm too lazy for touch-ups and don't carry my cushion around. So I can only touch up when I get home (usually after about 9 hours), and even then, I just pat it once with a cushion puff (to control oil and smooth out any clumping). Then I go out for a few more hours, and when I come back home, it still looks great! 1. Oxidation: I actually care quite a bit about oxidation, and this foundation seems to darken quite a lot. You might need to touch up frequently when you're out. 2. Creasing: This is actually about creasing in smile lines, which happens when I smile a lot... ^^ No foundation has survived my laughter yet. Just keep this in mind! 3. Skin texture: It's not particularly flattering. On days when my skin condition isn't great, it tends to clump and look a bit cakey.
