My skin texture isn't great and I have dehydrated oily skin, so usually when I apply even slightly bright or matte foundations, they immediately look patchy and unattractive. However, with Hanyul's foundation, even a thin layer provides decent coverage and adheres so well to my skin that it creates a beautiful complexion. I love natural-looking skin, so I think I'll be sticking with Hanyul's foundation. On days when my skin is particularly dry, it can look a bit flaky. But that happens with other foundations too, so I don't really consider it a drawback. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 20, 2021
My skin type: Sensitive, with an oily T-zone and dry U-zone. I have slight redness on my cheeks, slightly enlarged pores, and occasional blemishes. My skin tends to react with redness or small bumps if I use incompatible cosmetics. The shade is on the lighter side, similar to shade 21. The texture is firm and semi-matte. Coverage is excellent. Longevity is great - no breakdown or darkening for 9 hours. It applies smoothly with good adherence. Covers pores on the nose area perfectly. However, some pores on the cheeks are still slightly visible. A brush works better than a puff for better coverage. Relatively easy to remove. The ingredients are somewhat disappointing. It emphasizes dead skin cells and leaves a slightly heavy feeling. Initially, it looks fine, but over time it accentuates skin texture. The shade 23 is too light, more like shade 21, and doesn't match my skin tone. After removing the makeup, my skin feels slightly itchy, and I get small bumps under my chin. My forehead also feels itchy with some residue left behind. Overall, it's a disappointing product due to issues with texture enhancement, shade mismatch, and potential for blemishes. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 22, 2021
1. Honest color (helps even out skin tone, creates a healthy, natural-looking complexion like bare skin) 2. A matte foundation that's great for dry skin types 3. Thin, adherent coverage that doesn't cake 4. Less transfer onto masks 5. Rivals the Hera Black Cushion - really good! 6. Recommended for those who use Hera shade 23 (might feel slightly dark at first) 7. Achieves full coverage with minimal product 8. Seems gentle on sensitive skin, doesn't cause blemishes... I have atopic, sensitive skin and didn't have much reaction... Occasionally might get some if I don't cleanse well after wearing 1. Darkens somewhat quickly 2. A bit dark for shade 23, could use more brightening (though it helps create that bare skin look) If you're usually shade 22, try mixing the 23 foundation with leftover 21 foundation! (See unedited photo for reference) I mixed in a bit of 21 when I used it - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 11, 2020
This is my holy grail foundation! It's lightweight, adheres well to the skin, and provides great coverage. Most importantly, it didn't seem to irritate my skin at all. I've been using only this product consistently. The product tends to leak a bit inside the cap, which is somewhat disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 11, 2020
I have a 22-23 skin tone with occasional blemishes and pus-filled acne! My skin isn't terrible, but when those red spots pop up or leave behind dark marks, it's really stressful. ✔️Adherence I use this with the Fillimilli brush, and I think it adheres excellently, covering pores without any patchiness. Just be careful not to apply too thick a layer... even with great adherence, it can transfer easily. I recommend applying a moderate amount with a brush! It pairs perfectly with the Fillimilli brush. ✔️Coverage The coverage is medium to high. While there are many high-coverage foundations and cushions out there these days, I think Hanyul's is on the higher end. Of course, high coverage can sometimes look cakey and thick, right? When I was younger, I used to think 'the more coverage, the better!' But now, I find super thick coverage can feel suffocating and doesn't look pretty. Hanyul's foundation isn't as thick as other high-coverage options, but it's not a thin formula due to its high coverage. So, I apply a thin layer all over, then add another light layer just on blemishes. I hardly used concealer with this! If you're bothered by a freshly popped pimple, just dab a bit of powder on that spot with a brush (don't layer on too much foundation as it's not a thin formula and can look heavy). ✔️Color The color was a bit off for me. Many people with shade 23 skin said it matched perfectly, but for me... it was a bit ambiguous. It's slightly dark and oxidizes, becoming a bit dull over time. I have a darker skin tone and prefer a brighter makeup look, but this felt like it became dully ambiguous. I felt this even more as it oxidized over time. But oxidation can vary, so make sure to test it yourself! I highly recommend testing the color at a store before buying! If you have extremely dry skin, rarely get blemishes, or hate thick-looking makeup, this might not be for you. If you have a lot to cover, oily skin, or prioritize coverage, give it a try! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 23, 2020
The adherence is truly impressive - it's the best foundation I've used so far! The coverage is also quite good. It has a slightly semi-matte finish, which is a bit disappointing for my combination skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 13, 2020
It finishes with a powdery feel and has excellent adherence that really fixes to the skin. As time passes, rather than clumping together with your natural oils, it seems to almost evaporate, giving the impression of a foundation that's less prone to breaking down. Oh no! After applying this and coming home, I found my forehead and chin bombarded with tiny blemishes. Wearing a mask seemed to make the breakouts even worse. This foundation might be too matte for those with dry skin. It seems better suited for oily, combination dehydrated skin, or those with combination skin types. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 6, 2020
It absorbs thinly and adheres well to the skin, which I found quite nice. The color is also just right. I'm left wishing it was a bit more hydrating... - Hwahae UserNormal SkinApr 1, 2020
The coverage, adherence, and application are incredibly good. I especially dislike the feeling of stickiness left on the skin, but with Hanyul, I wondered if it was matte when applying. Shortly after application, it sets and finishes with a soft, powdery feel, which I really like. Since it's shade 23N, it appears too light on darker complexions. This seems suitable for skin that's neither too light nor too dark. I'll have to go back to searching for cosmetics that match my skin tone. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 14, 2020
I'm a teenager with dry and slightly sensitive skin. The good points are its excellent coverage, easy control of the amount used, and it works well even with a regular Daiso brush. Also, the adherence and coverage are superb. If you like quick application, I recommend this. Just spread it on your cheeks with a brush, then pat it with the sponge that comes with it. It's done in no time. Good stuff! First off, if you have extremely dry skin, I wouldn't recommend this product. It's more suitable for combination dehydrated skin types. I have dry skin, but I prefer products that are moderately hydrating and leave a matte finish rather than those that are overly oily and shiny. So, I use this product in summer when I'm sweating a lot. It's not bad when applied after thorough skincare in summer. However, after about 4 hours, it does tend to break down a bit. Also, if you don't prep your skin properly, it breaks down faster and can quickly dry out your skin. Be careful! If you have combination dehydrated skin or oily skin, or if you like a semi-matte finish, use this. If you have dry skin and prefer a dewy, moisturizing look, don't use it - it'll be a waste of money. Note that this foundation will pill if you apply it directly to your face. Instead, squeeze some onto the back of your hand, apply it to your face with a brush, then use a puff directly.
