The only positive thing is that the quantity is more than expected. However, even this doesn't make up for its poor performance. It's so disappointing that the generous amount becomes a drawback... I downloaded Hwahae for the first time in my life to write a cosmetics review. I saw so many ads that I thought it must be good, so I bought it as a set with a moisturizer. Although I have sensitive skin, I've never had acne, even as a student, and could use anything without issues. But for the first time in my 30 years, my skin completely broke out after using this. Even my husband was shocked. Not only did I get small bumps, but my usually dry skin became incredibly oily on my cheeks, which has never happened before. Hydration? The toner is just water. It doesn't absorb well, and when you apply it, it feels like you're just splashing water on your face. The exfoliating toner has no effect either. After application, it dries exactly like when you wash your face and wait for the water to dry, leaving your skin feeling very tight. It can't be due to other products because I don't wear makeup, just use basic skincare and sunscreen, which I haven't used in months. I'm not the type to mix brands either, I use one brand until it's finished before switching to another. This time I tried Under Ten's products, but they're truly awful and don't suit me at all. The scent is also very strange, like plastic. Neither the toner nor the moisturizer provides any hydration. I don't understand what they're aiming for with these products. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 11, 2021
1. It's incredibly gentle - you might mistake it for plain water. There's no fragrance, so it really does feel like water on your skin. 2. I appreciate that the packaging, bottle, and ingredients seem environmentally friendly, likely causing minimal harm to the environment. The absorption is slow... And after using this, I've been getting small blemishes that look like millet seeds. Since I started using this, the areas around my eyebrows and sides of my nose haven't been calming down. Once it does absorb, it feels like this toner only provides hydration, which paradoxically made my skin feel even tighter. If it doesn't suit your face, try applying it to your arms or legs instead. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 2, 2021
Advantage 1: Simple ingredients. Gentle on skin. The ingredients are relatively simple and free from irritants, making it comfortable even for sensitive skin. Since toner is typically the first product used after cleansing, it's crucial to scrutinize its ingredients carefully. This product seems suitable for everyone. I have super sensitive skin that's prone to irritation, but I experienced no discomfort at all. Advantage 2: Fresh hydration boost It's packed with hydration without feeling heavy. My skin tends to get oily and sweaty as soon as the weather warms up, turning into combination dehydrated skin in summer. That's why I prefer lightweight skincare during hot months. This product is perfect in that regard. It's bursting with hydration without any rich feeling. Drawback 1: Slow absorption The texture of this product is just like water. As a result, it absorbs very slowly. It feels like you're applying water to your face. Perhaps it's more noticeable for me since I have sensitive skin and don't use exfoliating toners. +Update Strangely, while using this, my skin gradually became rougher, so I've decided to discontinue use. My entire face became covered with tiny bumps, as if I had developed small blemishes all over. Since this is the only change in my routine, it's the only product I can suspect. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinMay 25, 2021
Well, the fact that it's fragrance-free is nice, but somehow it still leaves something to be desired... I'm not sure if it's just me, but the more I use this, the more my skin tingles and burns... It even turns red. I've been using the same cleanser for months, and I've only been using this for about 2 weeks. At first, it was just okay, but for the past 2-3 days, even after cleansing, my skin feels... The irritation gets worse after applying it. My skin is extremely sensitive to ingredients like lemon, mint, grapefruit, and pineapple, and of course, it reacts badly to alcohol, AHAs, BHAs, and similar ingredients. I bought two bottles of this... Before, I was using Aromatica's Rosemary Essence and Tea Tree Skin, and those were fine! I've tried airing out the room and cleaning it, but if my skin still burns during my evening cleanse, I'm worried I might have to throw it away... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 19, 2020
[Hwahae Testers Review] 💖My Skin Type💖 I have dry and sensitive skin. I was skeptical until the package arrived. ❤Before Use❤ I applied with doubt, wondering if it would work for me. I had stopped using toners for a while. Previously, when I used various toners, they made my skin feel tight, dry, and I disliked their scents. So I quit using toners and even stopped using cotton pads as they irritated my skin. (My skin improved significantly after stopping cotton pad use.) But this time, I decided to give it a try. 🥕During Use🥕 👍🏻: Usually, if I don't apply anything after cleansing or use something drying, my skin can't handle it. But with this toner... I was amazed. As someone with dry and sensitive skin, I think I've finally found a product that works for me. I was even more surprised that it's a Korean product. When the package arrived and I opened it, I realized I hadn't even properly looked at what I was getting when I skeptically applied. It looked so luxurious! So I'm satisfied with the packaging! The fragrance is subtle, which is great for me as I'm sensitive to scents. I'm not sure if it's sea grape scent (I've never tried them..😅), but I like this kind of subtle, not overpowering fragrance, so I'm satisfied with the scent too! The color is extremely transparent... so I'm happy with that as well! 💛Family Opinion💛 My mother is using this product and loves it.. haha. She's already used over 1cm of it! 👎🏻: I thought there wouldn't be any downsides shortly after receiving it, but I was wrong. Around the fourth day of use, two painful blemishes appeared on my face. It was quite disappointing... The deep dryness feels the same as with other products, maybe I didn't apply enough, but there's really no surface dryness. 💙Overall Review💙 Thanks to Hwahae, I've finally found a product that works for me. It's great for dry, sensitive skin and provides excellent hydration!.. I think it's worth trying! [Out of 10 stars, 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟(7 points)] It evens out the complexion, and when you apply it to your face, it feels moisturizing. At first, it looks like water, but once it absorbs, it feels nice and firm! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 19, 2020
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. First off, my mom and I tried it together from the day we received it. We both felt that it absorbs well and is very hydrating. There's no irritation, and the scent is pleasant, so I think it's a good toner! I recently had laser treatment, so my skin was a bit sensitive. The next day, I noticed some small blemishes. However, my mom has very healthy skin and didn't experience any blemishes at all, so it seems to vary from person to person. Using multiple layers with a generous amount makes it much more hydrating. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 19, 2020
This is my review as one of The Hwahae Testers! I'll write an honest review without exaggeration. My skin isn't particularly acne-prone, but it is sensitive. The product is fragrance-free with a light, non-sticky water-like texture. I'm not a fan of skincare products with strong scents, so this is a plus for me. While there aren't any standout features or dramatic effects, I think that's what makes it suitable for many people to try without hesitation. It seems like a product that's easy to incorporate into your routine. My skin is extremely sensitive, so even the slightest mismatch with a product can cause a major reaction. After using this product, I developed small blemishes all over. Since I haven't changed any other cosmetics recently, I believe these blemishes are due to this product. If you have sensitive skin like mine, please keep this in mind! In my case, I used the 5-ply cotton pads available at Olive Young, separating them into single layers. The thinness of these pads means you only need a small amount of toner to cover your face effectively. Hope this tip helps! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinJun 18, 2020
This is an unscented, water-like skin toner. Unlike typical water toners that leave your skin feeling dry after a few minutes, this product maintains hydration. It provides sufficient moisture and hydration, yet has a refreshing, light moisturizing effect perfect for summer use. The bottle is designed with an opening that dispenses just the right amount of toner. When you're running low, you can easily squeeze the bottle to get every last drop, making it convenient to use until the very end. It's a product that excels in the basics. It didn't seem to agree with my skin or perhaps didn't mix well with my other products, as I developed some small blemishes... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 17, 2020
Application The texture is perfect for use as a skin toner. It's truly like water. That's why I soaked it generously and used it as a skin pack before bed. It's ideal for those who dislike sticky products. It seems especially suitable for people with oily skin. Skin Type I have combination dehydrated skin, but it wasn't unbearably dry for me usually. So while this product didn't feel particularly moisturizing, it's perfect for a calming skin pack or as a post-cleanse toner in the morning! As mentioned above, I'd recommend it more for oily skin types than dry ones. Scent There's no artificial fragrance, and I didn't specifically try to smell it, but it doesn't seem to have a noticeable scent during use. Skin Type Acne is my biggest concern. I consider it a success if using this doesn't make it worse. But it was a huge failure. I never used to have this issue, but since I started getting acne, my skin became extremely sensitive. The day after using this, I started breaking out. My usual skincare had been working well and my acne was clearing up, but as soon as I used this, it flared up again. Given how quickly it happened, there must be an ingredient that doesn't agree with me. I think it might work fine for others though...? Just to be sure, I went back to my original products and the breakouts stopped...? So it must be that this product doesn't suit me, right? I was planning to post 'after' photos if my skin improved, but it actually got worse... I'm too disappointed to post them... As a Hwahae Tester: - It's incredibly hydrating. I thought such a watery texture wouldn't provide enough moisture, but I was wrong. It truly makes your skin feel hydrated. Of course, this could partly be due to summer when skin is less dry, but for its texture, it provides excellent hydration. - It absorbs quickly. Well, that's to be expected given its water-like consistency. - It's fragrance-free. No scent at all. - The ingredients are high-quality. What's going on... Everything was fine, but I got a couple of small blemishes and one really painful one. They appeared after using this, so I think it might be because of this product. I wonder what could have caused it. I'll have to try it again when my skin calms down a bit. It might be even better if used chilled.
