When Etude first entered Olive Young, I bought this palette as it was said to be great for cool-toned skin, but... The shimmer shades in this palette are absolutely stunning. I especially loved Rose Bud Tea, a shimmery pink pearl that was my favorite. All the pearl shades have a very fine texture, making them excellent as highlighters and perfect for everyday use without being overwhelming. It's great that the palette includes a suitable shading color, allowing you to do simple contouring with just this one palette. What makes this product unique is the Hibiscus Tea shade - an incredibly deep red tone that you don't often see in other palettes on the market. All the pink-based colors have a warm undertone, which sometimes looks a bit off on cool-toned skin. However, there's also a cement-colored shadow for depth, which doesn't seem to harmonize well with the other shades. The brown shades for creating depth are limited, and all the browns have a sheer color payoff, making it difficult to build up shadows. The darkest shade available is the Hibiscus color, but it's too red for everyday use. The palette design looks cheap... Even for a road shop brand, the outer case quality is significantly lower compared to other palettes at this price point. It's made of inexpensive plastic that started peeling off like skin after some use. - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 4, 2023
The colors look absolutely stunning on cool-toned skin. While there are some shades I don't use often, as a muted cool summer tone, I find myself reaching for the light mauve shade constantly for subtle contouring. The colors I don't use really do end up neglected. I just can't find a way to incorporate them into my routine. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 31, 2022
I got the light undertone shade 21. Initially, I bought it just because there was a coupon and it was on sale. At first, the color wasn't completely cool-toned, but had a bit of warmth to it. Except for the glitter, I didn't reach for it much. But after using a soft, milky blush, it started to balance out the warmth and created more of a shadowy effect rather than intensifying the color. And honestly, you can do your entire makeup look with just this palette! The colors are quite versatile and unique, which I didn't notice at first. It has a slight warmth to it, and there's no deep shade that can be used as an eyeliner substitute. Rom&nd Oat Milk Blush + the 5th and 7th shades are my absolute favorites! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 13, 2022
Jasmine Tea: Bright ivory Cherry Blossom Tea: Subtle beige with glitter Rosehip: Warm dried rose Hibiscus: Marsala shadow Peppermint: Gray-beige Rosebud Tea: Peach-white shimmer Ginger Chamomile: Toned-down orange shading Marigold: Muted orange-brown shimmer Lavender Tea: Gray-purple base Soy Chai Tea: Warm brown shading • It doesn't seem to be a cool-toned palette • The color combination feels a bit off - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2021
I bought the summer cool palette and I'm extremely satisfied! Here's why: 1. The second pink shimmer from the top is perfect for highlighting the aegyo sal (under-eye area). 2. The top right color is great for adding a subtle shadow to the eyes or for nose contouring. 3. The second color from the bottom right is also excellent for contouring! 4. The bottom right color works well for covering eyeliner or slightly filling in the waterline. I don't use the other colors much, though. There's nothing bad to say! Even the brush that comes with it is convenient and great for gently applying color to the aegyo sal area. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJun 13, 2021
My complexion always comes out as Summer Cool Light when I do self personal color diagnostics! I fell head over heels for grayish tones this spring and bought this product after searching around. ✔️ As someone who suits grayish tones more than white ones, this was an excellent choice for me! ✔️ It's a 10-color palette, and I'm satisfied that there's not a single shade I'd consider wasting! ✔️ There are brown colors, but they're completely free of yellow undertones, making them perfect for contouring! ✔️ The hibiscus shade isn't as intense as it looks, so I use it for eyeliner or in the outer corner of the eye! ✔️ I love how big the mirror is! For eye makeup, you need to look closely in a mirror, and having a large one in the palette is super convenient! I highly recommend this to those who love contouring makeup! ☑️ There's some excess powder fallout... It's not too noticeable when applying with fingers, but with a brush, there's a lot of fallout, so you need to tap off the palette after use. ☑️ For a palette aimed at cool light tones, it feels like it might suit muted tones better? ☑️ For warm tones, I'm not sure... Looking at the photo where the skin appears yellowish, it doesn't seem to match well. ☑️ The pigmentation is a bit weak, so you need to apply about two layers with a brush! - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 22, 2021
The colors are subtle and generally neutral, making it suitable for various complexions without much concern. There's even a muted brown-grayish shade that allows for contouring with just this palette. The overall subtlety of the colors means that even on fair skin, it doesn't look muddy or excessive, which I really appreciate. While the subtle pigmentation is a plus, those with darker skin tones might need to layer it multiple times for it to show up. Also, the shimmery shades have a slightly gritty texture, so they don't apply as smoothly. As a result, the shimmer doesn't seem to adhere well to the eyes. I use this to create a fresh and soft look. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinFeb 13, 2021
This is truly my holy grail palette! (For reference, I have cool-toned winter skin) The color payoff is decent, but the color combination is absolutely amazing! I used to prefer darker shades, but since using this palette, I've started applying a light base and just adding pops of color. The size is perfect for carrying around, and if you use it well to suit your eye shape, you can create even more beautiful eye looks. I highly recommend it! The highlighter part is a bit weak, and there's some fallout with the shimmer shades. But other than that, it's perfect! I found that using this palette as a base and then adding larger shimmer particles separately as accent points creates a beautiful look. - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 12, 2021
1. A cool-toned shadow palette perfect for those who love contouring makeup 2. Versatile composition suitable for daily use with aegyo-sal glitter, regular glitter, and a basic shimmer - almost no wasted shades 3. Compact size 4. Large mirror included, great for minimalist makeup bags 5. Available at Olive Young, making it more accessible to purchase 6. Sophisticated design unlike typical Etude products, sparing you embarrassment when using it in public 7. The 'Peppermint' shade is truly shadow-like and potentially great for nose contouring 1. Not suitable for intense makeup looks due to light color payoff, uniquely so among this line 2. Still somewhat disappointing for true cool-toned users compared to high-end cool-toned palettes 3. 'Jasmine Tea' shade is too light - why do they always include such shades? The already light color payoff becomes even lighter and brighter 4. Even the darkest shade is too light to use as an eyeliner alternative, both in terms of color intensity and payoff Purchase Info: Coupang - 17,750 won Features: 1. Composition: 7 matte, 1 shimmer, 2 glitter shades 2. 10-pan palette 3. Simultaneously sold at Olive Young Color Description: Overall: - Rose muted tone with a hint of warm undertones, but still better suited for cool undertones - Recommended for light cool and muted cool (pink-leaning) skin tones - 'Rose Bud Tea' and 'Ginger Chamomile' are slightly warm - Suitable for those who prefer light makeup due to subtle color payoff Detailed Colors: - 'Peppermint' (ashy) and 'Lavender Tea' (purple-brown) are ideal for contouring - 'Soy Chai Tea' can also be used for contouring and potentially as a soft eyeliner - 'Jasmine Tea' is too light for a base shade Comparisons: - Better composition than the discontinued Lingerie Backstage palette - Less purple-toned than the 2017 Rooster Year edition 'Overcome the Limits of Beauty' - Slightly warmer with more contouring shades compared to Holika's light muted palette - Lightest base shade ('Jasmine Tea') is brighter than 'Dried Buckwheat Flower' base Additional Comments: - Finally, a light muted cool-toned palette without intense purples - Etude House consistently delivers on pink tones, which is commendable - Unique among road shop brands for offering hot pink, cherry blossom, wine, and chili-themed palettes - Light muted cool tones can try the 'Ginger Milk Tea' shade Note: Swatches shown with and without lighting for reference - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 31, 2021
As someone with a light undertone, I'm really enjoying this! The colors aren't too dull and have just the right amount of whiteness. I especially love the second pearl shade - it's absolutely gorgeous! The large mirror is perfect for touch-ups, and the included tip makes it super practical. I even use the fifth color for eyebrows and nose contouring, not just on my eyes. There's not a single shade I don't use! I wouldn't recommend this for those with warm undertones as it might not blend well. I'd suggest trying a different color in the same series instead. Here's my personal go-to combination: I start with the first color as a base, then apply the third color, followed by the fifth shimmer shade. Finally, I add the second pearl color to my aegyo-sal (under-eye area). It's my secret recipe for a perfect look!
