When Etude first entered Olive Young, I bought this palette as it was said to be great for cool-toned skin, but... The shimmer shades in this palette are absolutely stunning. I especially loved Rose Bud Tea, a shimmery pink pearl that was my favorite. All the pearl shades have a very fine texture, making them excellent as highlighters and perfect for everyday use without being overwhelming. It's great that the palette includes a suitable shading color, allowing you to do simple contouring with just this one palette. What makes this product unique is the Hibiscus Tea shade - an incredibly deep red tone that you don't often see in other palettes on the market. All the pink-based colors have a warm undertone, which sometimes looks a bit off on cool-toned skin. However, there's also a cement-colored shadow for depth, which doesn't seem to harmonize well with the other shades. The brown shades for creating depth are limited, and all the browns have a sheer color payoff, making it difficult to build up shadows. The darkest shade available is the Hibiscus color, but it's too red for everyday use. The palette design looks cheap... Even for a road shop brand, the outer case quality is significantly lower compared to other palettes at this price point. It's made of inexpensive plastic that started peeling off like skin after some use. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 13, 2022

My complexion always comes out as Summer Cool Light when I do self personal color diagnostics! I fell head over heels for grayish tones this spring and bought this product after searching around. ✔️ As someone who suits grayish tones more than white ones, this was an excellent choice for me! ✔️ It's a 10-color palette, and I'm satisfied that there's not a single shade I'd consider wasting! ✔️ There are brown colors, but they're completely free of yellow undertones, making them perfect for contouring! ✔️ The hibiscus shade isn't as intense as it looks, so I use it for eyeliner or in the outer corner of the eye! ✔️ I love how big the mirror is! For eye makeup, you need to look closely in a mirror, and having a large one in the palette is super convenient! I highly recommend this to those who love contouring makeup! ☑️ There's some excess powder fallout... It's not too noticeable when applying with fingers, but with a brush, there's a lot of fallout, so you need to tap off the palette after use. ☑️ For a palette aimed at cool light tones, it feels like it might suit muted tones better? ☑️ For warm tones, I'm not sure... Looking at the photo where the skin appears yellowish, it doesn't seem to match well. ☑️ The pigmentation is a bit weak, so you need to apply about two layers with a brush! - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 12, 2021
1. A cool-toned shadow palette perfect for those who love contouring makeup 2. Versatile composition suitable for daily use with aegyo-sal glitter, regular glitter, and a basic shimmer - almost no wasted shades 3. Compact size 4. Large mirror included, great for minimalist makeup bags 5. Available at Olive Young, making it more accessible to purchase 6. Sophisticated design unlike typical Etude products, sparing you embarrassment when using it in public 7. The 'Peppermint' shade is truly shadow-like and potentially great for nose contouring 1. Not suitable for intense makeup looks due to light color payoff, uniquely so among this line 2. Still somewhat disappointing for true cool-toned users compared to high-end cool-toned palettes 3. 'Jasmine Tea' shade is too light - why do they always include such shades? The already light color payoff becomes even lighter and brighter 4. Even the darkest shade is too light to use as an eyeliner alternative, both in terms of color intensity and payoff Purchase Info: Coupang - 17,750 won Features: 1. Composition: 7 matte, 1 shimmer, 2 glitter shades 2. 10-pan palette 3. Simultaneously sold at Olive Young Color Description: Overall: - Rose muted tone with a hint of warm undertones, but still better suited for cool undertones - Recommended for light cool and muted cool (pink-leaning) skin tones - 'Rose Bud Tea' and 'Ginger Chamomile' are slightly warm - Suitable for those who prefer light makeup due to subtle color payoff Detailed Colors: - 'Peppermint' (ashy) and 'Lavender Tea' (purple-brown) are ideal for contouring - 'Soy Chai Tea' can also be used for contouring and potentially as a soft eyeliner - 'Jasmine Tea' is too light for a base shade Comparisons: - Better composition than the discontinued Lingerie Backstage palette - Less purple-toned than the 2017 Rooster Year edition 'Overcome the Limits of Beauty' - Slightly warmer with more contouring shades compared to Holika's light muted palette - Lightest base shade ('Jasmine Tea') is brighter than 'Dried Buckwheat Flower' base Additional Comments: - Finally, a light muted cool-toned palette without intense purples - Etude House consistently delivers on pink tones, which is commendable - Unique among road shop brands for offering hot pink, cherry blossom, wine, and chili-themed palettes - Light muted cool tones can try the 'Ginger Milk Tea' shade Note: Swatches shown with and without lighting for reference - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 4, 2021
This is truly a must-have for cool-toned beauties! The adherence, application, and longevity are all fantastic. As a summer cool-mute tone myself, I love that the shades in the palette aren't yellowy or reddish, making it perfect for those with cool undertones. The colors are subtle, beautiful browns. And oh my, the shimmer shadows are absolutely gorgeous! The palette feels like a collection of daily-wear colors all in one place, allowing you to create any look or mood you desire. The soft, subtle hues make it a versatile product that's not overwhelming to use. This might not be ideal for warm-toned folks. Since it's designed for cool undertones, I wouldn't recommend it to those with warm complexions. Apart from that, I can't find a single flaw with this product! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 29, 2020
Three-line summary! This palette is a godsend for cool-toned skin! Please buy it! It's great for beginners to mix and match colors, and all the shades are easy to use! Excellent value for money. Considering the 10 colors, shadow quality, and case quality, it's a great deal at this price. As someone with very cool-toned skin, this palette is a blessing. Most palettes on the market are warm-toned, and even those marketed as cool often have many warm shades. Even palettes labeled as "cool pink" often turn out to be too warm when applied. I'm amazed that all 10 colors in this palette are genuinely cool-toned! There are even shades here that are hard to find as single shadows. The colors are generally muted, soft, and light, making them perfect for daily use without being overwhelming. Even the most vibrant and reddish color (fourth from the left in the top row) isn't too flashy when applied and gives a nice, subtle flush. There are many soft base colors without shimmer, and while they're all subtly different, they share a similar light and gentle quality. All 10 colors have a similar vibe (there are no dramatically different shades in terms of color, brightness, or saturation!), so whatever combination you choose tends to work well together! The colors themselves are all versatile and not too intense, so there's a low chance of making mistakes. That's why I recommend this palette for beginners too. Despite the variety of colors, they're all easy to use and hard to mess up. All 10 shades work well together, so you can't really go wrong with any combination! There are two shimmer shadows that are truly subtle and beautiful. The particles aren't too large, which is great. The shimmer spreads evenly with a natural, understated effect. The colors are pretty, and they adhere well to the skin without fallout. The value for money is excellent. The shadow quality is good with minimal fallout, decent pigmentation, and smooth, even application. The staying power is also good. Having 10 high-quality shadows in a palette priced in the mid-20,000 won range is fantastic value. Compared to other palettes at Olive Young, it's really cost-effective. Even if these colors aren't your style, I'd recommend trying their other palettes because the quality is so good. The case is nice too. The matte finish doesn't look cheap, and the design is clean and sleek. The included applicator is soft and good quality (much better than average included applicators - I usually throw them away, but I actually use this one). The large mirror inside the lid is convenient. Overall, it's thin and lightweight. This quality at this price point is unbeatable. Among 8-10 pan palettes at Olive Young, I personally prefer this to popular brands like Clio or 3CE. Even if you don't like these specific colors, the overall quality, minimal fallout, mirror, etc., are all great when you consider everything. I have a lot of makeup at home, and this is one of the best products I've tried in a while. It's a shame it's not more well-known considering how good it is! As someone with very cool-toned skin, this palette finally showed me what natural daily eye contouring can be! I've always struggled with shadows that claim to be natural and light for daily use, but end up looking floaty, yellowish, or muddy on my skin. The edges would be visible, and the color would just sit on top without creating any real contour. I'm so grateful they've made a cool-toned palette like this! I could never achieve a natural contour before because everything would just float on my skin, but now I finally understand what it means to have something that's easy to use. Even when I occasionally found something that worked for cool tones, it was either too intensely cool to be comfortable or so similar that it got boring. This palette is truly the essence of natural, daily eye makeup. If you're a cool-toned person like me who's sensitive to warm tones, these colors will work well regardless of your specific undertone. That's how versatile they are. You can really use this carelessly without messing up your eye makeup. It gives that light, effortless daily contour effect. Any combination works well, there are no overly bright or intense colors, and all 10 shades complement each other. You can just casually use different combinations and end up with a natural, pretty daily eye look. Even when I'm in a rush or not paying much attention, I've never had a bad result. It's always effortlessly pretty for daily use, and with so many colors, it doesn't get boring. It's fail-proof and easy, which is why I reach for it the most. The large mirror is also very convenient. The case design is clean and nice, making it pleasant to keep on your vanity. I appreciate that it's not unnecessarily bulky or heavy - it's lightweight and compact. It's been a while since I've been 100% satisfied with every aspect of a product. Oh, and this is just my personal preference, but I feel a palette is perfect when it includes a deep, muted brown shade that can be used to soften eyeliner or create a more intense contour. Unfortunately, this palette doesn't have that. The bottom right color is the closest to what I'm describing, but it's a bit too light. That said, this is just my personal taste and doesn't detract from the overall excellence of the palette. It's still an amazing product that I highly recommend, especially for those with cool-toned skin looking for an everyday, foolproof eyeshadow palette. The Jasmine Tea color has very little pigment, so it's great for using lightly, almost like a setting powder. The Rosehip color looks beautiful when applied broadly under the eyes. (Apply generously to the aegyo sal and the triangular zone, extending slightly downwards.) It gives a soft contour while making the eyes appear larger, and the slight reddish tint adds a pretty flush under the eyes. It's not too intense, so it's comfortable and easy to use. Except for the two shimmer shades, Hibiscus, and Soy Chai Tea, any of the colors work well as a base. They look good applied alone or blended together. Mixing colors helps you use the palette more evenly and can create beautiful, unique shades when you can't find exactly what you want. Hibiscus, the most vibrant and reddish color in this palette, can be blended into the base color along the crease line or mixed with other muted base colors. This gives a fresh, floral-like redness and contour without being too red or overwhelming, and it doesn't make the eyes look puffy. Alternatively, applying it narrowly to the under-eye triangle zone creates a pretty, reddish effect. If you want to add a bit of glamorous shimmer under the eyes, try this: After completing your eye look with the palette's natural shimmers, add a touch of a more dramatic shimmer product as a final step. I recommend 3CE Double Note or Stila Liquid Glitter in Coral Vista. They pair well with this palette and look beautiful. When you occasionally want a more glamorous look or to add a special touch, layering these on top works well because the shadows themselves are so wearable, preventing the overall look from becoming too much. Rather than using a separate colored shimmer shadow, I found it better to apply one of the palette colors (I recommend Rosehip) to the under-eye area, then top it with a clear shimmer. This ensures better color coordination. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 29, 2020
I have hooded eyes with fatty lids, but the glitter and shimmer went on beautifully without making them look puffy. As someone with cool undertones, when I apply Lavender Tea to my eyes, it creates a sultry grayish-brown effect that's absolutely stunning. I really wish they'd sell this shade individually! The color payoff is a bit on the lighter side, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who usually prefer more intense pigmentation. There are also some shades with a strong white base, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. For a delicate makeup look, start by applying a thin layer of Ginger Chamomile as a base. Then use Rose Hip to create a shadow on the inner corner and outer V of the eye. Follow up with a light touch of Soy Chai Tea to softly deepen the crease. Finally, sweep the shimmer and glitter across the entire eyelid. I also like to add a pop of color to the inner corner using Rosebud Tea. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinAug 26, 2020
1. Essential color palette for cool tones If you have a cool complexion, this is a must-have palette. The muted shades that aren't too yellow or red are a rare find in drugstore brands, making it highly recommendable. 2. Perfect for daily use There's not a single throwaway shade - you can mix and match every day for new combinations. If you're a cool-toned gal looking for a daily palette, you won't regret grabbing this one! 3. Soft-tipped brush It comes with a long, built-in tip brush. Unlike some other Etude palettes with rougher tips, this one has densely packed, silky-soft bristles. 4. Generous mirror One entire side is a mirror, making eye makeup application a breeze. It's big enough for doing eyebrows and base makeup too - proving that bigger mirrors are always better! 5. All-in-one shadow types It's got everything: nose contouring, eyebrow powder, eye base, contour, shimmer, glitter, point colors, aegyo-sal highlight, and highlighter. So convenient! 6. Great for students and professionals Recommended for those who need to keep their makeup subtle. The soft, delicate color combination is perfect, especially for students who need to avoid bold looks. - Light color payoff While the muted tones suit summer cool tones well, those who prefer intense pigmentation might find it disappointing. - Weak aegyo-sal/highlighter It's not expecting miracles, but sometimes it's so subtle you need to layer it multiple times for it to show up. - Poor staying power Perhaps due to the light pigmentation, it doesn't last very long. After 20 minutes of walking on a windy or hot day, the contour shadows seem to disappear. The ivory base shadow, in particular, tends to fade quickly. - Easily peeling matte case The clean matte case looks great at first, but it starts peeling like skin after being tossed in a makeup bag a few times. It's not the prettiest sight. There's some fallout with the glitter shades, so I recommend using an eye primer before applying. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAug 21, 2020
I have a cool summer undertone (17), but I also enjoy using warm shades. The palette itself is beautiful, with a muted feel that's perfect for those who prefer subtle looks. I mainly use shades 2 (Cherry Blossom Tea), 9 (Lavender Tea), and 10 (Soy Chai Tea). The shimmer in shade 2 is absolutely stunning - it's truly gorgeous! As for the other shades, 1 (Jasmine Tea) doesn't show up well on me, and the rest are either too warm or too deep for my liking, so they're more for admiring than using. If you've been wanting to try muted eyeshadows or don't have similar single shadows, this palette is worth adding to your collection. It's also compact, making it great for on-the-go touch-ups. This is my first Etude House palette purchase, and I'm a bit disappointed. The pigmentation is sheerer than expected, and there's significant variation between shades (though the shimmers have good color payoff). Blending isn't as smooth as I'd hoped. When compared to single shadows, the difference in quality is noticeable. The swatches shown are after multiple layers - in reality, the colors apply more subtly. I bought this thinking it was a cool-toned palette, but honestly, I can't say it's a true cool-toned collection. There are quite a few warm shades that I don't reach for often. I think even warm-toned individuals could use this palette, especially those with deep undertones. If you're expecting a strictly cool-toned palette, you might end up not using over half the shades like me. I'd strongly recommend swatching before purchasing to avoid disappointment. I've compared swatches with similar single shadows I own. Some are discontinued, but it should give you a general idea of the colors. Please use this just for reference! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinJul 18, 2020
As someone who recently discovered I'm a summer cool tone, this was the first palette I bought, and I absolutely recommend it for fellow summer cool tones! It's perfect for creating both bright and contoured looks. The shade in the bottom left corner is a perfect match for aegyo sal. The staying power is incredible with zero excess powder fallout. One slight drawback is that the texture of the shadows feels a bit like touching drawing paper... I suggest removing the included brush. If you don't, eyeshadow gets on it every time you open the palette. For summer cool tones, try using Rose Whip for your makeup look - it will truly suit you.
