I originally used Maybelline products, but they were often out of stock, so I bought a similar-looking product from Olive Young. Being in a tube with a thick consistency made it convenient to use. When I squeeze a small amount onto the back of my hand and prepare my brush, the surface sets slightly like paint on a palette. The thicker consistency makes it easier for beginners to use compared to liquid concealers in stick form. I liked how it effectively covered blemishes and dark spots when I spread it thinly with a brush and applied one layer to the areas needing coverage. It also adhered well, lasting 8-10 hours until I got home from work without needing touch-ups. Considering you use small amounts and it's hard to finish before expiration, it's about 1/3 the price of Maybelline products and frequently on sale, making it great value for money. I was disappointed that the color was on the darker side. Initially, I bought the Natural color online based on the description, but when I compared it to my foundation, it was quite dark. While the darker color provided better coverage, it also had a darkening effect, making it difficult to use in the center of my face. So, I purchased the lightest Bright color next time, but even this shade was darker compared to my 21 shade foundation. In the last photo, the top is Natural and the bottom is Bright. The darkening effect is significant, and there isn't a big difference between the colors, so I think it would be challenging for those with fair skin to use. - fv********Dry SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsRednessDead Skin CellsAug 8, 2024
The shade 21 was a bit dark for me. On the bright side, you get a generous amount of product... I guess? There was a time when they heavily promoted this as a high-coverage foundation that you need to apply thickly and take good care of your skin. However, the coverage isn't as good as I expected. - s2****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 25, 2024
Great coverage! When applied gently with a brush, it effectively covers pores and stays put on the skin. The massive quantity lasted me two years, haha! The color isn't too flashy, making it perfect for coverage. It has good staying power too. I used it until the very last drop - a true holy grail product! The lack of a spatula means you have to dispense it onto the back of your hand or a palette each time you use it. It's hard to control the amount, so you end up wasting quite a bit. However, the enormous quantity makes up for it. - pr********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 11, 2024
The coverage is excellent. I have acne scars, and this concealer does a great job hiding them! It also absorbs well on the skin. It can be a bit drying, making touch-ups somewhat challenging. Also, the concealer shade tends to be on the darker side, so it might be tricky to match with your complexion. This concealer is perfect for spot-concealing areas with blemishes or marks. - ls********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 25, 2024
Holy grail concealer! I must have used at least 15 tubes in my lifetime. I'll be using this forever. Absolutely nothing bad to say. If they ever discontinue this, I'll be staging a one-person protest in front of Hanskin's headquarters! - az*******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 26, 2023
I use this more often than foundation.. Unlike foundation that can cake, emphasize dead skin cells, and make pores visible, applying this thinly on the butterfly zone or nose provides good staying power and less transfer. If this product is discontinued, I'll have nothing to use..!!! There are no downsides. Please keep producing this product for a long time! For areas where you'd normally use foundation, apply a thin layer and quickly pat it in with a puff as if you're pressing it into the skin! This helps cover pores and works great. - ha*********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 25, 2023
Great for concealing stubble marks. I've been using it for the 8th time since this year. It makes my skin dry. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like this, but my skin feels parched. - ch*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedMay 24, 2023
This product is fantastic for covering redness! I usually have redness on my cheeks, between my eyebrows, and around my nose. Especially when I drink alcohol, my face tends to get very flushed, and no base makeup seems to cover it completely. But when I use this product before going out, it's like magic! The grayish undertone really helps to neutralize the redness. However, it's crucial to control the amount you use. If you apply too much, it can settle into dead skin cells and look patchy. Here's my technique: When applying foundation, use a lighter layer on areas where you want to cover redness. Apply it so thinly that blemishes are still slightly visible. Then, squeeze out the tiniest amount of this product onto a sponge, spread it evenly, and gently pat it onto your skin with a light touch. If you apply it with too much pressure, it can ruin your base and emphasize texture. Remember, your skin can only handle a certain amount of product in total. If you've already applied a thick layer of foundation, adding this on top can make everything break down quickly. So, start with a light base, then add this product for a beautiful finish and long-lasting coverage. The first time I wore this to a night out, my friends commented that my face wasn't red at all - that's how well it works! To be honest, this product has its limitations when it comes to covering blemishes. For trouble spots, blemishes, or moles, I prefer using concealer pencils or pot concealers rather than liquid types. It doesn't work well with matte foundations or mineral sunscreens. For best results, use a moisturizing hybrid sunscreen for a dewy finish! On days when I haven't exfoliated well or when my skin isn't at its best, it can look a bit cakey no matter what I do. But usually, once some natural oils come through, it smooths out again. If you're planning to apply this over a large area like I do, make sure to prep your skin thoroughly! My routine is: toner + hydrating ampoule + emulsion with a good oil-moisture balance. I apply these in layers, allowing each to absorb. I think of the emulsion as 'sealing in' the moisture, so I apply it firmly. Around the eyes, use less product to prevent creasing when you apply eye makeup. Instead, focus on applying more product precisely where you'll use concealer. - o_****Combination SkinRecommendedFeb 5, 2023
My skin is combination type that occasionally gets major blemishes. I have a few acne scars, so I always need to apply concealer after foundation. I use shade 21 for foundation, but for concealer I use a slightly darker shade 23 Natural, which covers well! It doesn't separate even after hours and maintains a hydrated look. The tube packaging makes it convenient to squeeze out and apply. Plus, there's quite a lot of product, so it should last a while. Because it's in a tube, sometimes I accidentally squeeze out too much. It feels wasteful when that happens. - dj********Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedDec 22, 2022
I think it's just a decent product that hits the sweet spot It's not particularly outstanding, but it doesn't have any major flaws either
