I bought it because they said the effect would be better if applied together with retinol, and I feel that my skin texture has definitely improved without any breakouts! I like it so much that I will continue to use it.

After trying many other brands, I've come back to Pola Choice!! These days, basic skincare products are being launched by large corporations and small businesses alike, both domestically and internationally. Even pharmaceutical companies are now making basic skincare products, and there are truly so many brands out there. I've used many different brands, but I've returned to Pola Choice. Previously, I had wrongly used a shampoo with poor ingredients and suffered from cystic acne for a long time as a result. But after using this product, my skin has really improved a lot. The textural irregularities and cystic acne on my jawline, forehead, and chin have been resolved, and my overall skin texture has become smoother and more even.

- Fragrance The fragrance is a bit unpleasant, perhaps because it's unscented and just the natural scent of the ingredients. But this can be both a downside and an upside - there's no need for added fragrance in a basic skincare product. - Texture The color is a very deep brown. I really love the niacinamide ingredient, and have been using basic products with this ingredient from other brands as well. But I've never seen such a dark color before. I'm curious if this is just the natural color of the high 20% concentration of this ingredient. I generally avoid using dark-colored basic skincare products on my face, as there have been cases of them leaving a visible residue. Fortunately, it didn't actually darken my skin tone. - Absorption After fully absorbing, over time a white powdery residue appears on the face. If left as is, this white residue will start to pill and flake off. So I have to make sure to apply a hydrating moisturizer as the last step after using this. This is why I absolutely cannot use this during the day. - Usage At first, it felt a bit stinging. Even after my skin adjusted, it still felt a bit drying and irritating when applied. So I'd recommend those with sensitive skin to do a patch test first before using this.

Pros
My T-zone and U-zone have combination skin with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks. I have mild allergic reactions and focus on pore care, skin texture, and blemish care in the butterfly area. This is a review after using about 10 bottles. This serum converted me into a Pola Choice fan!! I tried it by chance and by the time I finished one bottle, I noticed significant improvements in my pores and skin texture. This sparked my interest in niacinamide, and I've been using it consistently for the past 2 years. They say it can be used in a day routine with sunscreen, but I only use it in my nighttime routine. The texture has a viscous feel and leaves a slightly heavy but bouncy sensation on the skin. However, it absorbs well and doesn't feel greasy. You need to massage it in well to help it absorb. With consistent use, I definitely noticed my cheek pores tightening a lot, my rough texture improving, my complexion brightening, and my uneven skin tone evening out. Since this has a very high 20% niacinamide content, it would be great for those whose skin agrees well with the ingredient.
Cons
The high concentration means it can cause breakouts if your skin doesn't agree with it. I also started by mixing the 10% booster from the same brand into my regular hydrating serum to 'train' my skin first before using this. If you want to test it, I'd recommend trying the booster product first. Another downside is the price - it's almost 70,000 won for 20ml. The price keeps going up every year, haha. So I tend to stock up when it's on sale. I only use it in my nighttime routine, but I'll keep using it.
