- It has a slightly rich finish on the surface, but feels deeply hydrating underneath, which works perfectly for my combination dehydrated skin. It absorbs well into areas with deep dryness, while not making my T-zone excessively oily, making it great for both morning and evening use. - On days when my skin is super sensitive, I can't use just anything, but this gives a soothing feeling that makes me reach for it more often, especially when I have redness or a burning sensation. It also applies smoothly under makeup without pilling. - When used as the final step before applying base makeup, it creates a firm, non-slippery canvas that helps foundation adhere well. - It's quite moisturizing, which might feel a bit heavy in the peak of summer. While this is actually a plus for dry skin, those with combination skin may need to adjust the amount. In summer, I apply only a small amount to my T-zone and focus more on the U-zone. - The jar packaging is slightly less hygienic. I use a spatula to scoop it out, but this can be a hassle on busy mornings. A tube or pump-type container would probably be more convenient. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 30, 2025
As someone with sensitive combination dehydrated skin, I've struggled with severe dryness, especially in winter or when my skin barrier weakens. But this cream has been a game-changer! My skin used to feel so dry and tight, it was like it was about to crack. I've tried countless skincare products and supplements, but nothing has worked as well for me as this cream. I initially bought it on a whim after seeing it on YouTube, not expecting much. For the first week, I didn't notice much difference compared to other creams. But after about two weeks of use, I saw a remarkable improvement. My once flaky skin became soft and noticeably healthier. Most importantly, I could feel my skin barrier becoming stronger and more resilient. The texture is quite rich, but it doesn't leave a greasy residue or feel sticky. You can apply a generous amount without it feeling heavy on the skin. Unlike other thick creams that sometimes cause small bumps, this one doesn't cause any such issues, even with liberal application. It's also practically fragrance-free! I've gone through about five jars already and plan to keep using it. If you're struggling with dryness like I was, I highly recommend giving this cream a try. It might just be the solution you've been looking for! If I had to point out one drawback, it would be the jar packaging. It might not be the most hygienic option. However, there's a silver lining - unlike tube packaging where it's hard to use up every last bit, with a jar, you can easily use the entire product. For extra hydration during winter or particularly dry periods, try applying a layer all over your face, then add an extra layer to especially dry areas for maximum moisture. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinMay 4, 2025
I bought this product because I was worried about acne scars and breakouts, and I heard it strengthens the skin barrier to prevent acne! The first thing I loved is that it absorbs well without feeling sticky when applied. For someone like me who hates when things stick to my hair or face when I'm trying to sleep, this was perfect! Surprisingly, when I woke up the next morning, my red acne marks seemed to have faded a bit. It definitely seemed to alleviate deep dryness, and overall it's a great product! I highly recommend it for dry skin types! The scent wasn't particularly pleasant, but it was still tolerable. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 1, 2025
It absorbs well and is great for deep hydration. Some moisturizers tend to pill, but Real Barrier absorbs well, which I'm really satisfied with. There's not much to complain about. It would be nice if they had sales more often. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 23, 2025
My redness was severe, but it improved after applying this! The deep dryness has also reduced. When I apply cushion foundation over this, it pills a bit and feels quite greasy. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 14, 2025
I first bought this cream when struggling with deep dryness in winter, and I've been using it for 3 years now! It's incredibly rich and thick, locking in both oil and moisture. A few minutes after application, it settles to a soft finish without any feeling of dryness. I love how it maintains the oil and moisture balance until morning, keeping my skin hydrated! I'm using it so well that it's become a true staple... There's not really anything I'm disappointed about! It might feel a bit heavy for summer use or morning application, but you can mix it with liquid products like toner or essence for a lighter, smoother application! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMar 13, 2025
I bought both the jar and tube versions during a promotion at Olive Young, and the jar version is truly amazing! Even though I've tried many rich creams, none could tackle my deep dryness until this one. It immediately improved my skin's hydration. What's more, it's gentle and genuinely mild on the skin. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the tube version seems to have a slightly different formula. Also, I keep noticing tiny plastic-like particles coming out - I'm unsure if this is a defect. The rich texture makes it difficult to squeeze out and use from the tube, which is inconvenient. I recommend using only a small amount if applying before makeup to prevent pilling, or consider using it as part of your night care routine. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinMar 4, 2025
It's a lifesaver for winter dryness! Just apply toner and this cream, and you're all set. I've been using this product for years during the winter months. It's so gentle that it doesn't cause any blemishes. The downside is that you need to use a spatula since it's in cream form. The tube version is okay, but for that rich, luxurious feel, the jar packaging is still the best. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 1, 2025
This cream is my absolute go-to for winter! It's incredibly moisturizing and tackles deep dryness like a champ. The price point is a bit high for the amount you get. But there are no drawbacks in terms of performance. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinFeb 25, 2025
I've been using this since fall 2023 from Olive Young! As a teenager with combination dehydrated skin, I occasionally get blemishes and suffer from deep dryness. ⭐️ My Review ⭐️ • Having used this for a long time, I have a lot to say. First off, for hydration, it's a perfect 100 out of 100. No joke. It's somewhat seasonal, working best in winter. It feels a bit rich, but that's unavoidable for a cream. It takes a while to absorb, so apply just the right amount. If you overdo it, you'll need to massage it in and wait for absorption. I usually apply this when I need soothing, when my skin feels tired, or when I need extra hydration. On days when skincare feels like a chore, I just slap this on before bed. It's almost like an all-in-one cream! I've been using this since fall 2023 from Olive Young! As a teenager with combination dehydrated skin, I occasionally get blemishes and suffer from deep dryness. ⭐️ Drawbacks ⭐️ • It's heavy and thick. At first, I thought it was Greek yogurt! So it takes time to absorb, plus it feels a bit suffocating. If you dislike heavy creams, avoid this. While there's nothing particularly disappointing, it's not something I'd enthusiastically recommend. It's really just... winter hydration, plain and simple. My Personal Tip • I use this for hydration and soothing after retinol. It's especially great on days when my skin is irritated or extremely dry. Give it a try!
