- It has a slightly rich finish on the surface, but feels deeply hydrating underneath, which works perfectly for my combination dehydrated skin. It absorbs well into areas with deep dryness, while not making my T-zone excessively oily, making it great for both morning and evening use. - On days when my skin is super sensitive, I can't use just anything, but this gives a soothing feeling that makes me reach for it more often, especially when I have redness or a burning sensation. It also applies smoothly under makeup without pilling. - When used as the final step before applying base makeup, it creates a firm, non-slippery canvas that helps foundation adhere well. - It's quite moisturizing, which might feel a bit heavy in the peak of summer. While this is actually a plus for dry skin, those with combination skin may need to adjust the amount. In summer, I apply only a small amount to my T-zone and focus more on the U-zone. - The jar packaging is slightly less hygienic. I use a spatula to scoop it out, but this can be a hassle on busy mornings. A tube or pump-type container would probably be more convenient. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 5, 2025
Definitely feels like it's strengthening the skin barrier! Highly recommended for dry skin types. The texture is quite heavy, which can feel a bit suffocating when applied. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinMar 2, 2025
This night cream melts into your skin as you smooth it on, creating a luminous complexion that clings perfectly to your face. It provides incredible hydration without any pilling. It's truly a holy grail product! Depending on personal preference, some might find it a bit heavy or sticky. However, I absolutely love this texture, so it's perfect for me. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinFeb 25, 2025
I've been using this since fall 2023 from Olive Young! As a teenager with combination dehydrated skin, I occasionally get blemishes and suffer from deep dryness. ⭐️ My Review ⭐️ • Having used this for a long time, I have a lot to say. First off, for hydration, it's a perfect 100 out of 100. No joke. It's somewhat seasonal, working best in winter. It feels a bit rich, but that's unavoidable for a cream. It takes a while to absorb, so apply just the right amount. If you overdo it, you'll need to massage it in and wait for absorption. I usually apply this when I need soothing, when my skin feels tired, or when I need extra hydration. On days when skincare feels like a chore, I just slap this on before bed. It's almost like an all-in-one cream! I've been using this since fall 2023 from Olive Young! As a teenager with combination dehydrated skin, I occasionally get blemishes and suffer from deep dryness. ⭐️ Drawbacks ⭐️ • It's heavy and thick. At first, I thought it was Greek yogurt! So it takes time to absorb, plus it feels a bit suffocating. If you dislike heavy creams, avoid this. While there's nothing particularly disappointing, it's not something I'd enthusiastically recommend. It's really just... winter hydration, plain and simple. My Personal Tip • I use this for hydration and soothing after retinol. It's especially great on days when my skin is irritated or extremely dry. Give it a try! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 3, 2025
1. This is a moisturizing cream with a slightly rich texture. You'll need to add hydration separately in previous steps with toners or serums. 2. It helps strengthen the skin barrier. My skin, which used to easily dry out and become red from heater air, has calmed down significantly. 1. This product alone isn't enough to balance oil and moisture. Its heavy texture can feel a bit suffocating, and it contains ingredients that may clog pores, which led to some minor blemishes. If you're looking for a cream with more hydration, the Intense Cream might suit you better than the Extreme Cream. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinDec 30, 2024
[Hands: extremely dry, Feet: dry, Lips: extremely dry, Scalp: oily, Face: combination dehydrated skin, Body: dry] [Complexion 23-24, concerned about makeup settling into under-eye wrinkles, lip line discoloration, brown dark circles, good skin texture but worried about pores, no major blemishes but severe redness on cheekbones] Applies smoothly Leaves a non-greasy finish Suitable for the whole family Can be used by both dry and oily skin types without causing blemishes Helps improve skin when the barrier is compromised - feels soothing and more firm Might feel heavy for those with oily skin during summer (need to pay attention to the amount used) - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinOct 12, 2024
A holy grail for extremely dry skin... It doesn't leave you feeling greasy or oily, but provides deep, genuine hydration...!!! This product has gentle ingredients and brings incredible moisture stability to sensitive, very dry skin. My skin used to sting when applying skincare in winter, but that disappeared as soon as I started using this. This product was the turning point that made me settle on Real Barrier for my skincare routine. I recommended it to a friend with dry skin too, and now we're sharing discount links with each other since she's also committed to it. If you have oily skin, this might not be for you. The texture is almost like Vaseline, so it might feel heavy. Highly recommended for those with dry, very dry, or sensitive skin! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAug 3, 2024
For those with dry skin in winter, it's fantastic as a moisturizing cream on top of your hydrating cream! I wouldn't recommend this for people with oily skin due to its rich texture. It feels a bit heavy for summer use, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 23, 2024
•Hydration: 5/5 Excellent for winter. Even a thin layer keeps skin moisturized for long periods due to its rich texture. •Skin barrier improvement: 4/5 Consistent use of Real Barrier makes your skin feel stronger. •Absorption: 3/5 Spreads smoothly with a pleasantly rich texture I usually love Real Barrier for its gentleness and how it improves skin texture. After trying other products, I decided to use the Extreme Cream due to its popularity. Despite having dry skin, I found the formula quite heavy and it might feel a bit suffocating for some. Recommend applying this as the final step in a simplified nighttime routine: Toner - Essence - Real Barrier Cream It's like a treatment for when your skin feels parched. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJul 21, 2024
While not overly firm, it has a substantial feel. Though it applies thickly, it's neither too rich nor sticky, making it comfortable and giving a sense of skin protection. The scent is subtle (even more so than the Intense Moisture Cream), with only a faint hint of essential oils detectable if you really focus. It seems better suited for dry skin rather than oily or combination complexions. There wasn't anything particularly uncomfortable or bothersome. If I had to pick something, I'd say it might feel a bit heavy during the summer months.
