I bought this thinking it would be good for dry skin, but it's too heavy, doesn't absorb well, and pills before applying makeup. It seems like it would really clog pores. I think those with oily skin absolutely shouldn't use this. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinFeb 11, 2025
This is a product I stock up on every winter. It might feel a bit thick and heavy at first, but if you apply it over a lighter moisturizer, it lasts for ages. It's truly powerful for locking in hydration and moisture. The formula isn't overly rich in oils. It might feel even drier if applied to skin without any prior hydration. While it's great for moisturizing, it can feel heavy as a result. Depending on your skin type, it may potentially clog pores. Use this after applying a light moisturizer or hydrating product to seal in the moisture. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 3, 2025
1. This is a moisturizing cream with a slightly rich texture. You'll need to add hydration separately in previous steps with toners or serums. 2. It helps strengthen the skin barrier. My skin, which used to easily dry out and become red from heater air, has calmed down significantly. 1. This product alone isn't enough to balance oil and moisture. Its heavy texture can feel a bit suffocating, and it contains ingredients that may clog pores, which led to some minor blemishes. If you're looking for a cream with more hydration, the Intense Cream might suit you better than the Extreme Cream. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinJan 18, 2025
The texture is rich and creamy. It melts with the warmth of your fingers as you spread it. It absorbs well, leaving skin feeling firm and supple, making it ideal for normal to dry skin types. For oily skin, this cream might be too rich and could potentially clog pores. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinJan 3, 2025
Incredibly thick... The absorption and texture are similar to Vaseline. Highly recommended for locking in moisture after applying a hydrating formula. Great for filling pores after blackhead removal. It doesn't absorb quickly or evaporate, giving a long-lasting feeling on the skin. Not recommended for standalone use or oily skin types. It feels like it creates a thick barrier on the skin, preventing moisture from escaping. However, it also seems to clog pores and make the skin feel like it can't breathe. It doesn't provide a separate moisturizing effect either. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 11, 2024
I have combination dehydrated skin! I had been using my regular moisturizer for years, but I would still get occasional red, inflamed blemishes or small bumps two or three times a month for no apparent reason. During the recent Olive Young sale, I decided to switch up my skincare routine and came across the Real Barrier Extreme Cream, which is said to be great for improving the skin barrier. True to the hype, it applied to my face with a rich, hydrating feel. It felt more like a balm than a typical cream! While it felt moisturizing, it seemed to only hydrate the surface. I'm not sure if it was because it felt like it was clogging my pores, but I didn't get that deep, lasting hydration feeling right after application. Unfortunately, the day after using it, I noticed some small inflamed blemishes starting to appear. It seems to work well for some people with combination dehydrated skin like mine, but I experienced some tiny white bumps! I recommend buying a smaller size first to test it out on your skin before purchasing a larger amount. It's best to see how your skin reacts before committing to a full-size product! - Hwahae UserDry SkinJul 26, 2024
I really love how it applies smoothly without being sticky. The hydration power is impressive too! It's a bit disappointing that it seems to slightly clog the pores. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 1, 2024
I have combination dehydrated skin. I used to think I had oily skin, but it's become unusually dry... Maybe it's because I'm getting older... 1. Good hydration When dead skin cells appear around my mouth and nose, applying this a few times prevents them from forming. It definitely seems to reduce them. 2. Since it's called a barrier cream, there's definitely a feeling of it creating a protective layer. 3. It doesn't seem to cause any blemishes.. 1. The product is a bit heavy and rich It seems okay if you apply it in small amounts? 2. The price... it's not exactly cheap 3. It's not in a tube A spatula is included, but I'm a bit worried about dust getting in I use the spatula to put some on the back of my hand and immediately close the lid I've heard it might clog pores... but I'm not sure about that.. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 20, 2024
I tried this because everyone was raving about it, even though I have sensitive skin. However, I found it disappointing as it felt like it was clogging my pores, was too stiff, and left my skin feeling very dry. It's extremely drying. I wonder if there's something wrong with my skin. The feeling of clogged pores and the dryness are just too much. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 31, 2023
As someone with very dry skin, I really focus on hydration from fall through winter! I heard this cream was popular among those with dry skin, so I decided to give it a try. The texture was so rich that I was worried it might not absorb well, but even after applying my serum, it absorbed quickly without any stickiness. I'm really pleased with it! I think it'll work great even in winter. The texture is extremely rich, so if you have dry skin but are prone to blemishes, it might potentially clog your pores.
