ConsPerhaps because they've made it gentle without adding ingredients that improve absorption and spreadability, it takes a long time to absorb and just sits on the surface. I'm not sure if the good ingredients are actually being absorbed... At first, I felt deep dryness. You need to build a solid skincare base.
TipApply this after thoroughly layering your essences and other base products. It's difficult to expect sufficient hydration from this cream alone.

Contains 67% Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract instead of purified water, which should help soothe the skin. It includes ceramides for hydration, madecassoside for calming, and panthenol for strengthening the skin barrier. As a product that has passed sensitivity testing, it definitely feels gentle when applied. The moisturizing power seems decent? I've never felt dry or tight after using this product.
ConsMaybe because of its rich texture? The absorption isn't great and it doesn't spread easily. It leaves the skin feeling slightly stuffy. While it's truly gentle, I'm not sure about its other appealing points. I don't have blemishes, so I can't speak to its effectiveness in soothing them. As for calming redness or heat, I find cooling effect pad products work better...

I didn't have high expectations initially. After use: Upon trying it myself, I found it truly gentle, and I could feel it deeply hydrating my skin. I have combination dehydrated skin, which looks oily on the surface but is actually dry underneath. During seasonal changes or in this dry winter weather, my makeup would usually flake and separate, but those issues disappeared after using this! What I loved most: My skin had been so dry lately that the skin around my nose was peeling. After using this product, the peeling significantly improved, and now it doesn't peel at all! I used to be prone to blemishes, but this product has a calming effect on my skin. The frequency of breakouts has decreased, and even my acne scars seem to have faded.
ConsI was a bit disappointed that it felt more like it was moisturizing rather than giving an intense hydration sensation!
TipWhen applying the product, you can experience its smooth absorption by spreading it like an emulsion! I recommend applying it thinly two or three times instead of just once! Instead of spreading it, try patting it in with your hands. The Maskcare Calamine Cream becomes more elastic when patted, so continuously patting it in seems to work better than spreading it.

I was thrilled to be selected by The Hwahae Testers to try this product! Despite my skin being easily irritated and prone to blemishes, I didn't experience any irritation while using this. I think it's because of the great ingredients. It's not particularly hydrating and doesn't have a rich feel, so if you don't have dry skin, it's a decent cream with good ingredients.
ConsAs expected, for my dry skin, this product is too drying to use consistently. It's especially challenging to use in winter.
TipI recommend applying this product after your toner or skin, and then make sure to follow up with an emulsion or hydrating cream!

I had a breakout above my lip, but it didn't get worse and started to subside quickly. No other blemishes appeared after that. For my dry skin, the oil and moisture balance seems to work really well.
ConsThe texture is similar to an ointment, so it feels heavy when applied and requires a lot of massaging with your palms to absorb well.
TipI prefer applying a generous amount all over my face at night rather than in the morning. After using toner, I apply this product and finish with a cream. It keeps my skin hydrated until morning.

This product was fragrance-free and caused zero irritation. In my opinion, it seems more focused on soothing than hydration. The inclusion of calamine suggests it's targeting skin irritated by face masks. It has a rich cream texture. When I applied it like a sleeping pack before bed, my skin felt soft and noticeably calmed the next morning when I washed my face.
ConsInitially, it feels moisturizing, but that sensation disappears quickly, and my skin even feels slightly tight after a while. I wondered if this was due to the calamine powder (similar to how physical sunscreens can be drying). Also, the formula doesn't absorb well into the skin, so you need to be careful with the amount you use to avoid pilling. I wouldn't use it during the day (and actually never have). I can't pinpoint any significant benefits, so I probably won't repurchase it with my own money. It doesn't seem to offer exceptional hydration, and I'm not sure if its soothing effects are truly remarkable either.

It's truly mild and soothing. That's why both my mother and I, with our sensitive skin, have been using it so well. There's no stickiness, like hair getting stuck to it. Instead, it feels like a protective layer is being applied. It's perfect for wearing under a mask when you're going out bare-faced. It really lives up to its name! For those with dry skin, you know how it can get when you try to moisturize and wear a mask in winter... But with this, there's no greasy shine from breathing under the mask! I didn't have high expectations, but the packaging is hygienic and pretty, and overall, I'm really pleased with it.
ConsThe application can be a bit tricky. It has a slightly ointment-like feel, despite being a cream, so it doesn't spread as smoothly. This means it can cause makeup to pill if applied beforehand, and it's difficult to layer thinly. If you're going to use it, I'd recommend applying it at night before bed or when going out without makeup. Also, this might vary from person to person, but while my mother found it fine, I felt it was a bit drying.
TipSince it feels like it creates a non-sticky layer but can be a bit drying, I often use it as a finishing layer over another moisturizer. Because it's hard to apply thinly, I recommend applying your desired amount all at once, whether it's a lot or a little. I found that works better! If you accidentally squeeze out too much, gently pat it in towards the end of application.

My T-zone is oily, so it doesn't need much care to prevent breakouts, but my U-zone is dry. If I don't balance the oil and moisture well, I get blemishes. It seems like I break out when it's dry, and if there's too much hydration, the heat in my cheeks makes it evaporate quickly. Too much oil leads to acne! The ingredients are incredibly gentle. Looking at the ingredient list, there's nothing particularly problematic, and the first ingredient is Centella Asiatica extract - a star ingredient! It worked well for me since Centella suits my skin. The soothing effect is notable, not just from the Centella but also from calamine. Calamine is famous for its excellent anti-inflammatory properties. I actually applied for The Hwahae Testers because it's a calamine cream! Calamine has a soothing effect, so when I apply it, my skin feels calm. It really does seem to reduce blemishes. As for hydration, it's so moisturizing that on dry days like these, you could finish your skincare routine with just this after your toner. True to its hydrating properties, it has a richer texture than regular moisturizers. After testing it, I think this product would be perfect for those whose skin has become super sensitive due to constant mask-wearing! It seems the product was designed with these concerns in mind, and it delivers. The product itself is extremely gentle, with excellent soothing ingredients and great hydration. During the testing period, I didn't experience any breakouts due to this product. Of course, since I have acne-prone skin, I still got some blemishes, but expecting a skincare product to completely prevent that might be a bit unrealistic. I recommend it for skin soothing purposes!
ConsRegarding absorption, well... The application is good, it spreads well and feels moisturizing when applied, but the calamine, which I mentioned earlier, has a characteristic drawback. It leaves a white cast when spread on the face. You can see this in other reviewers' photos. Of course, if you pat it in instead of rubbing, it's not a problem, but patting every time you apply multiple layers can be tiring for your arms. Because it's made with gentle ingredients, it tends to take a while to absorb into the skin. Combined with the white cast when applying, it's a bit challenging to apply carelessly if you're feeling lazy. As for the packaging, I'm not sure if it's the cause, but it's difficult to squeeze out the cream. Maybe it's because the texture is rich and slightly firm, but there are tube creams with even firmer textures than this one, yet this calamine cream requires more effort to squeeze out. I wonder why...
TipWhen applying the cream, either pat it in or spread it well and finish by pressing your palms against your face - this helps the white cast disappear quickly! Oh, and the calamine I mentioned adding to my regular moisturizer is calamine emulsion sold at pharmacies (price around 3500 won, may vary slightly by pharmacy). If you're unsure whether calamine suits your skin before using this product, you might want to try that as a test. It's not expensive, and you can mix it with your existing products or use it as a spot treatment. Just be aware that mixing it every time can be a bit of a hassle.

First off, I have super sensitive skin prone to small blemishes and excess sebum production. Lately, I've noticed more sebum buildup on my cheeks and chin, probably due to wearing masks. My skin tends to react quickly with redness if I apply products incorrectly, but this cream felt gentle without any such reactions. With consistent use, I noticed it helped calm my blemishes to some extent. However, the effects weren't dramatic - more of a gradual improvement with regular use. Given the winter dryness, this worked well as a finishing moisturizer. It seemed to layer nicely with other skincare products without feeling heavy. I'd like to note that it feels slightly more rich than hydrating, which is something to keep in mind.
ConsRather than a drawback, I'd say it's worth noting that this cream doesn't instantly absorb. The texture requires patting it in several times for full absorption. It also has a slightly ointment-like feel to it.

It's gentle, easy to apply generously, and I really like it.
ConsThe moisturizing effect doesn't last as long as I'd like. Even when I apply a lot, it somehow feels insufficient.
