After a year of wearing masks due to COVID-19, the skin on my chin, under my nose, and above my upper lip became rough. Eventually, it got so dry that it started peeling. Regular moisturizers seemed to have their limits, and even my go-to Innisfree Bija Cica Balm wasn't quite enough. The product's claims of reducing redness and calming the skin caught my attention, and I'm thrilled to say that after using it, I'm extremely satisfied! Here are the highlights: 1. Reduced redness - The redness on my chin, sides of my nose, and above my upper lip was severe. Acne products didn't help, but since using this, the redness has significantly decreased and the dryness has disappeared! 2. Fewer blemishes and skin irritations - Mask-wearing caused bumpy, rash-like eruptions. Applying a thick layer before bed would calm these bumps, leaving my skin smooth by morning! 3. Hydration for dry skin - My skin type varies with weather and seasons, but it's generally dry. While this isn't as hydrating as a water-based cream, it certainly doesn't leave my skin feeling parched! The slightly rich texture was appealing and absorbed well, despite its consistency. 4. Ingredients and quantity - As someone who prioritizes ingredients, I was relieved to find no harmful components. It absorbed without causing major blemishes or irritation. The tube is generously sized, and the effects are worth the price - I'd definitely purchase it myself when I run out!
ConsPersonally, I didn't find any downsides! But if I had to nitpick, those with oily skin might find the texture a bit heavy. Also, while it's technically unscented, there's a slight medicinal smell. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied with no reservations or 'meh' feelings about this product!
TipThis isn't a particularly hydrating or moisturizing product, so it might work best when used after your regular skincare routine for optimal results.

I usually don't prefer thick formulas as they tend to absorb slowly, but this product is different. With sufficient patting, it absorbs well into the skin. My skin is super sensitive and typically reacts badly to new products, but the Mascare Calamine Cream didn't cause any blemishes. It's probably because it's a soothing cream. Not only does it maintain hydration over time, but it also tackles deep dryness. It's a moisturizer that works hard! I think it would be great for those with similar skin to mine!
ConsWhile there's nothing particularly disappointing, it does have a slight medicinal scent. Those with sensitivity to fragrances should keep this in mind!

Initially, it feels a bit heavy when applying, similar to sunscreen, but that sensation quickly fades. Soon after, it feels as pleasant as applying an emulsion. Despite having combination dehydrated skin, I was concerned it might be too oily at first. However, once it absorbs, there's no greasiness at all. What I really appreciate is how visibly it improves skin soothing and texture right away.
ConsScent: Unfortunately, it really smells like ointment... not pleasant at all. Next day cleansing: When I apply it in the evening and wash my face the next morning, my skin feels slippery. This makes me wonder if it actually absorbed into my skin properly. Application: The way it applies isn't great. It seems to absorb rather slowly. As a result, you need to spread it evenly and then pat it in repeatedly to help it absorb.

It seems to suit sensitive skin well. In the morning, I smooth out my skin texture with toner, apply a thin layer of this cream, and finish with a brightening moisturizer - it's perfectly fresh and lovely. My chin area was severely irritated due to mask-wearing, and the nose area where the mask touches was particularly sore, but since using the Calamine Cream, there's less redness. It's a cream with outstanding soothing effects! Although it applies with a thick consistency and some white cast, if you spread it thinly, it absorbs completely. I love that it doesn't leave a sticky residue on the skin!
ConsDisadvantages: The thick texture means it doesn't spread easily. While it absorbs well if applied in a thin layer, you need to do a lot of rolling to spread it out. Also, despite its rich consistency, it feels less moisturizing than expected. It seems like the perfect cream for my extremely oily skin to use in winter. Lastly, while I'm not sensitive to cosmetic fragrances, there's a slight rubber or ointment-like scent. It has a medicinal feel which I don't mind, but the scent might be polarizing for some!
TipBrief User Review: This is my review after using the product daily since receiving it on the 23rd as part of The Hwahae Testers program. As calamine, which is good for blemishes, is the main ingredient, it seems to have excellent soothing effects! At night, I can sleep with just this one product and my skin still feels hydrated!
