A highly personal review from a skincare novice For reference, my skin type is combination dehydrated, extremely oily T-zone, sensitive, prone to enlarged pores, blackheads, and blemishes. This is one of my holy grail toners! I use it as my daily morning exfoliating toner. It's incredibly refreshing, perfect for those who dislike sticky textures. I've already finished two bottles and just ordered another! If you're looking for a gentle morning exfoliating toner that refines skin texture and removes dead skin cells, I highly recommend this! Whenever I get a lot of small bumps, I use it as a toner mask every evening! I tried it for the first time as a blemish-fighting product, and I'm amazed at how well it works. The next day, my skin is noticeably calmer, which I'm completely satisfied with! It's truly refreshing as the name suggests! While it's effective for refreshing the skin and calming blemishes, it lacks hydration and moisture. That's why I use this refreshing toner along with a hydrating cream. Oh, and I detect a slight alcohol scent. It dissipates quickly, but those sensitive to fragrances might not appreciate it. Before bed, I do a toner mask with this product, then follow up with Atobarrier 365 Cream to replenish moisture! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 19, 2020
I've been using this for about two weeks, and I can already feel the benefits. I bought it to manage my skin issues like excessive dead skin cells, small blemishes, and various skin troubles. I've been using it as an exfoliating toner in the final step of my evening cleansing routine. It seems to effectively remove any residue left after cleansing, and I didn't experience any irritation. Overall, I feel like my skin texture is becoming more refined. This toner seems to be doing its job well! While I sometimes skip other skincare products, I make sure to use this one without fail. There's a slight alcohol-like scent, but it's a common fragrance in these types of products - it seems to be a characteristic of the product itself. Other than that, I didn't find any particular drawbacks. While it worked well for me, I've heard that BHA can be potentially irritating for some skin types, so it's best to familiarize yourself with the proper usage instructions before applying. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinOct 16, 2019
It absorbs well and quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth! The strong alcohol scent was a bit off-putting for me - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 7, 2019
I'm using this toner generously on a cotton pad for a light cleanse. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and velvety smooth! It's a bit disappointing that there's a slight alcohol scent. Also, the container doesn't have a pump, which makes it inconvenient to apply on cotton pads. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinFeb 8, 2019
I've tried many toners, but this one seems to be particularly effective at removing dead skin cells. I'm using it as an exfoliating toner, and when I wipe my face with it, the cotton pad gets a bit darker or yellowish. This shows how well it's removing dead skin cells and impurities from my face! Despite its effectiveness, it doesn't cause any tingling sensation. When I first used it, there was a slight burning sensation. It wasn't painful, but there was an initial heat and a strong scent, possibly from alcohol, that hit me. Apart from this initial warmth when first applying, everything else about it is great! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 5, 2017
🍆Hwahae Trial Reviewer Review🍆 I was aware that eggplants contain ingredients that are good for acne, and that Bha is good for exfoliating, so when I saw that they were recruiting for this product's trial reviewers, I applied. I received the delivery late, but even using it just once, I saw sufficient effects, so I decided to write a review over the weekend. I'll use it as best suited to my skin type! (Current Skin Condition) 1. After developing acne in the summer, I now only have one or two pimples left. 2. Due to weather changes, my skin is dry. (I had a lot of sebum production in the summer, but I'm normally combination to dry.) 3. I stopped using Bha due to a weakened skin barrier (since summer). 4. Due to weather changes, I've reduced exfoliating from 1-2 times a week to 2-3 times a month. Even in a state with little sebum and exfoliation, a faint yellowish stain was visible on the cotton pad. That's how effective it was at removing sebum and exfoliation. The scent is almost unscented. Surprisingly, there was no drying feeling, and the next morning, my skin remained smooth without any sebum production. Since I have dry skin, I plan to use it 1-2 times a week, only at night. I just wipe it on with a cotton pad. (Recommended For) 1. When you want easy exfoliation 2. If you have acne and want to minimize skin irritation (Relatively less irritating than products like peeling gels) 3. If you want to replace all your cosmetics with acne-friendly products and happen to need a toner The smell is a bit strong, almost like alcohol. So I was worried it might be too irritating, but it's surprisingly less irritating than expected. However, you'll have to bear with the smell a bit. But the smell dissipates quickly, and it's not a foul odor! I can't really find any downsides to this... And I wouldn't recommend this to those with normally weak skin barriers.. I'm not sure how it would be in the summer, but I tend to avoid these kinds of products when my skin is getting weaker. This is just my subjective experience, so decide based on your own skin. The only thing I'm a bit disappointed about is that this isn't a daily product for me. Adjust the usage frequency according to your own skin type.
