1. It seems to effectively exfoliate dead skin cells and balance oil and moisture as expected. 2. The water-like texture leaves a refreshing finish. 3. The pretty purple color makes me feel proud to display it on my vanity. There was a slight tingling sensation immediately after use. It wasn't all over my face, just on my right cheek and jaw area. Since these are sensitive areas, I thought it might be causing irritation, so I rinsed those parts with water. The tingling didn't subside right away after rinsing, but as time passed, it disappeared and no blemishes appeared. Other than that, nothing particularly negative to note. 1. For areas that have become sensitive due to frequent blemishes, avoid using the product or rinse immediately if irritation occurs. 2. If you have large sensitive areas, it might be best to alternate with a gentle, soothing toner on different days. 3. Even for non-sensitive skin, it's better to use it lightly for evening out skin tone rather than as an intense skin pack. Excessive absorption might cause irritation. 4. For those with super sensitive skin, it's safest to avoid using this product altogether. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJan 6, 2020
The cream absorbs exceptionally well and leaves the skin feeling hydrated. It's pleasantly fragrance-free and feels refreshing on the skin. It seems my skin doesn't agree with BHA, and possibly due to the lupeol ingredient, within less than 3 hours of application, I developed hard pimples. Many areas of my face became red and itchy with blemishes appearing, so I had to wash it off immediately. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 17, 2018
With its BHA ingredient, I used it only in the evening rather than morning and night. It's great at smoothing out skin texture. It's a shame I can't use it daily. Not sure if it's the BHA or the eggplant extract, but it makes my face itchy. For an extra cooling effect, try storing it in the refrigerator before use. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 10, 2017
I was selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer and tried the Gaji Toner. My skin type is troubled, combination (oily T-zone and dry), and has some flakiness. (It's not sensitive, but some cosmetics can cause a slight stinging sensation.) The toner has a watery texture and a mild, cosmetic-like fragrance. I applied the toner by soaking a cotton pad and gently wiping it on my skin. At first, it felt moisturizing and soft, but after a few seconds, I felt a slight stinging sensation. Since this was the first time I've used a product with salicylic acid (0.5%), I wondered if this toner didn't agree with my skin. However, even though there was a stinging sensation, my skin didn't turn red, and the feeling went away quickly. So I continued using it for a few more days, and as my skin got used to it, the stinging sensation decreased, and it was fine. Definitely, using this toner has helped refine my skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine flaky skin. (Of course, for thicker flakes, I still use a peeling gel.) I have combination skin with a slightly oily T-zone, and I noticed the oil production around my cheeks and nose has decreased a bit. In conclusion, while there was a slight stinging sensation initially due to the BHA ingredient, my skin texture improved, flakiness reduced, and oil production decreased, so I think it's working well for me. If you have skin that doesn't agree with BHA (salicylic acid), you may experience itchiness, stinging, or redness. It's recommended to do a patch test first. In my case, when I have more noticeable flakiness, I gently wipe the toner all over, and for more localized flakiness, I use a cotton swab to apply the toner only to those areas, which helps remove the light flakes. I recommend this method for those who don't want the stinging sensation but still want to address flakiness.
