The main advantage is that it consistently helps remove dead skin cells with regular use It can occasionally cause a tingling sensation, which might not be suitable for those with super sensitive skin - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 31, 2021
Since it contains BHA, it was truly effective at removing stubborn dead skin cells. I mixed it with a slightly acidic toner, and all my blemishes disappeared! After using it for a year, I haven't noticed any major downsides yet. Maybe a slight tingling sensation when my skin is super sensitive? Please try mixing two toners... I'm begging you, it's so good. Highly recommended! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 7, 2021
The combination of eggplant extract and BHA is great! I love BHA, but other products are too harsh on my skin. It seems like the eggplant extract soothes the irritation that comes from BHA dissolving dead skin cells. Thumbs up! The reason I took off one star: You need to adjust the frequency of use according to your skin type, like once every 3 days or once a week. At first, my skin's reaction was fine, but when I started using it daily, it became irritating and caused redness. Here's a pro tip: Apply a hydrating toner first and let it absorb, then follow with the BHA toner. This method seems to make it safer to use. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 2, 2021
This toner is one I've gone through about 4 bottles of (I usually get bored easily and have many unfinished cosmetics). Compared to other toners, I really liked the noticeable exfoliating effect and the incredibly refreshing finish. I'd recommend this if you dislike heavy formulas or want to gently remove dead skin cells occasionally! Since it's an exfoliating product, it can be a bit harsh. I'm used to it now and it works well for me, but initially it stung and caused some redness (my skin was much more sensitive then). I wouldn't recommend this if you have super sensitive skin. Also, it provides almost no hydration, so I suggest applying a light serum after using this. This product is too harsh for daily use and lacks hydration, so use it occasionally! Don't forget to apply a serum afterwards... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 6, 2021
Review after finishing a whole bottle: ✔️Blackhead removal I used it from late summer to early winter, and while it could be due to the colder weather, I noticed a reduction in blackheads. It seems effective for sebum control and dead skin cell removal! ✔️Irritation I felt a stinging sensation while using it, especially when wiping around the mouth area. It seemed too harsh for daily use, so I only used it two or three times a week. Those with super sensitive skin should take note! ✔️No effect on whiteheads While it reduced blackheads on my nose, it didn't eliminate the whiteheads embedded in my chin area. It seems like nothing works on those, unfortunately. ✔️No blemish care Although it appeared effective for sebum control and dead skin cell removal, I had hoped it might also help with blemishes. However, I didn't notice any reduction in breakouts or faster healing while using it. Reducing irritation After cleansing, apply the exfoliating toner while your skin is still damp, not completely dry! This dilutes the product slightly, making it less likely to cause a tingling sensation. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 1, 2020
I mainly used peeling gels before, but when I tried this skin toner, I found it was enough on its own to effectively care for dead skin cells! Since I have sensitive skin, I feel a slight tingling sensation every time I apply it! It's great for exfoliating in the morning before makeup. If you have super sensitive skin like me, I recommend using it occasionally, alternating with your daily toner for dead skin cell care! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 12, 2020
Honest review from my own purchase: As someone with sensitive, combination dehydrated skin prone to pustular acne, especially with prolonged mask-wearing, I've found this product incredibly helpful. - Dead skin cells and impurity removal? The effects are visibly noticeable. I use cotton pads and typically exfoliate quite frequently, but since using this eggplant toner, I've been able to reduce my exfoliation routine. - Lupeol effect? Due to wearing masks for over 10 hours, stress, and hormonal changes, I've been struggling with pustular and closed comedones acne, particularly on my cheeks and chin. It was so bad I couldn't touch my face. I bought this toner on sale without much thought, not expecting it to help, but it's made a significant improvement. While acne scars are inevitable, my skin has improved dramatically. This has become one of my few staple products, which is rare for me. - Skin irritation: Due to its slightly acidic nature, it can be quite irritating on thinner areas of skin like around the nose. It stings... - Value for money: Considering the full price, the volume is disappointing for the cost. It runs out really quickly. -> I'm currently using it twice daily, morning and evening. - Dryness: As it's not specifically a hydrating or nourishing toner, it's understandable, but my skin feels quite dry after using this exfoliating toner. After using this exfoliating toner, make sure to apply plenty of hydrating products like a moisturizing serum to replenish your skin's moisture. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJul 6, 2020
I have combination dehydrated skin with sensitive tendencies, dealing with excess oil, enlarged pores, and blemishes - basically, a full spectrum of skin concerns. With summer approaching and my skin producing more oil, I decided to try this BHA toner from Bonjour, known for its effective sebum control and quality ingredients. After using it about three times, I can say that while it does tingle a bit on my sensitive yet oily skin, it doesn't cause any breakouts. I've been using it twice a week, especially when my blackheads look more prominent or before applying a mask. There's not much to complain about, but if I had to nitpick, it does cause a slight tingling sensation. For those with super sensitive skin, I recommend applying it generously on a cotton pad and gently pressing it onto problem areas like the nose, T-zone, under the chin, forehead, and any areas with whiteheads or small bumps. Hold it there for at least 10 seconds, then remove without wiping. This method is less irritating for sensitive skin. It's particularly effective when used before a mask treatment. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJun 16, 2020
I felt my skin become softer as it helped remove dead skin cells. It left my skin feeling smooth and polished. The consistency is watery, making it easy to apply without feeling heavy. The ingredients seem good, and it's not too harsh, so I think it could be really beneficial if used consistently. My skin was acting up to begin with. I have combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes, and wearing a mask daily due to COVID made my face break out terribly. I should have left it alone, but I kept squeezing and damaging my skin. When I used this toner afterwards, it stung a bit... though that was probably unavoidable given the open wounds. It seems this toner is often chosen by those with oily skin to remove excess oil and dead skin cells. Instead of trying to fix everything at once, I think using this toner gently every day without irritation could lead to that coveted glowing complexion. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 6, 2020
I bought this when it was on sale because I heard eggplant is good for acne. It's moisturizing and works great as an exfoliating toner. It's so effective at removing impurities and dead skin cells that even after double cleansing, you can see more debris coming off. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. Even though I'm not one to rub too hard when cleansing, my face feels a bit of a tingling sensation after using this. It's perfect for a skin pack when kept in the refrigerator!
