It's a toner that works incredibly well for me, and I'm extremely satisfied with it. The texture is water-like, but it feels concentrated if that makes sense? When it touches the skin, it makes it smooth and provides a moisturizing effect. I love doing up to three layers of this toner. It absorbs well, and with multiple applications, it leaves my skin as hydrated as if I'd applied a serum. It doesn't seem to evaporate quickly, which is perfect for my dry skin. The large volume means it lasts a long time. I have extremely dry skin, and if I skip my skincare routine for even a day, the area around my mouth, cheeks, and nose tends to crack. But with this toner, I can apply it casually, and it prevents that from happening. The ingredients are gentle, and I've never felt like it was causing breakouts or not agreeing with my skin while using it.
ConsThe only downside is the packaging. It's a bit difficult to dispense the product into your hand. The opening of the bottle is quite small, which sometimes causes the liquid to run down the side of the bottle.
TipIt's great to use chilled, fantastic for layering, and works wonderfully with cotton pads too! I've found that decanting it into a foam pump bottle sold in various places makes it easier to apply. However, I personally just dispense it into my hand as I suspect I might be allergic to the spring in the foam pump.

My skin is particularly vulnerable to oils, heavy oil-based products, strong vitamins, and alcohol ingredients. Pores are my biggest concern. My skin tends to have allergic reactions to sunscreens, so I'm always on the lookout for hypoallergenic options. This toner is gentle and cleanses effectively without irritation. I especially appreciate that it's fragrance-free.
ConsHowever, it's too watery and runs excessively. Also, since it's a Japanese product, I probably won't go out of my way to purchase it again.

As someone who's been quite invested in skincare, I've tried various products that others rave about. Comparing this to other toners, here are its strengths: - It's refreshing: I was initially worried because Hada Labo's ads often show that sticky rice cake-like skin texture. Even after using it a few times, I expected it to leave a slippery film due to its hydrating properties. However, while it's not completely watery and has some slip, it absorbs comfortably without feeling heavy or suffocating, making it suitable for summer use. - It's moisturizing without being overwhelming: Given my preconceptions about the brand, I thought it might be too heavy for my combination skin, especially in summer. But thanks to its fresh finish, I could layer it multiple times without it feeling greasy. It kept my skin comfortable with no deep dryness or tightness. In fact, it was so non-drying that I could finish my skincare routine with just this product. - It has decent staying power: With my combination skin, I usually get oily after an hour or two post-skincare. Despite being light and fresh, this toner leaves a lasting hydration even after multiple layers have fully absorbed. - Simple packaging: The minimalist design without excessive packaging is both aesthetically pleasing and eco-friendly, producing less waste.
Cons- The bottle opening is a bit inconvenient. It's less of an issue when using cotton pads, but I often spill when dispensing into my hands. - While it didn't bother me, there's a slight scent that's reminiscent of saliva. It's not an aggressive fragrance, but those sensitive to scents might find it uncomfortable. To me, it was almost unscented.
Tip- It works well both as an exfoliating toner and for layering. - Interestingly, I thought it was a Japanese product, but it contains Jeju young barley extract. It seems it might be developed in Korea (though I could be wrong!).

Absorption: The small particles make it feel like it's being absorbed deeply into the skin! I've been having a lot of blemishes lately due to wearing masks, but there was no stinging or irritation while it was being absorbed. Moisturizing: After absorption, it finishes very refreshingly without feeling dry or tight. It leaves a moisturized feeling that's not sticky but has just the right amount of hydration! Recommended Skin Type: It's not as heavy as a cream toner, nor as light as an exfoliating toner, so it seems perfect for combination dehydrated skin to maintain inner hydration during summer! Overall, the user experience is very mild, so there weren't any dramatically noticeable improvement effects, but this seems to be its strength. I've been having blemishes on my forehead and cheeks lately, making my skin sensitive, but this didn't worsen the blemishes and I was able to use it gently without any irritation!
ConsThe container design was disappointing. It has a large volume and the formula is a sloshy water type, so when using it, it tends to pour out suddenly. There's also some dripping around the spout. While the large volume is nice, the container doesn't seem to be a good match for the formula.
TipThis would be great for those looking for a mild toner that's suitable for daily use! It's not a toner that leaves a refreshing finish by exfoliating dead skin cells, but rather one that fills in deep hydration. I highly recommend using it as an absorbing toner rather than an exfoliating toner!

Please note that my old phone (Note 8) doesn't capture colors accurately, so the image quality might not show detailed differences. Just use these as a reference. The difference between Day 1 and Day 4 face shots isn't actual brightening, but likely due to the camera shifting between yellow and pink tones. Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin with deep dryness, pores/blackheads, acne scars, and redness In a nutshell, it's a 'watery toner with a bouncy hydration and just the right weight'! It has a thin consistency and barely any scent - just the typical unscented skincare product smell. To be honest, I didn't notice any dramatic improvements or visible skin changes (maybe due to the short period). Personally, it felt like a regular, refreshing water-based toner, but more hydrating. The good points are: 1. Hydration As advertised, the hydration is really bouncy. I tend to feel deep dryness, so I layered it at least twice (exfoliating toner + this, or two layers of this), and I could immediately feel the moisture building up. Despite being very watery, it doesn't lack hydration. Usually, I use toner-emulsion-moisturizer, applying two layers of emulsion on my cheeks, but with 2-3 layers of this toner, it was hydrating enough to skip the moisturizer! 2. Texture It has a thin, runny consistency. This makes it great for generous application and quick absorption. It works well as an exfoliating toner or for masking! I highlighted the texture because it's perfect for summer use while still providing ample hydration. 3. Absorption It absorbs quickly and well. If you apply a palmful it might take a moment, but if you pat it on thinly, it absorbs so fast you barely have time to spread it! Highly recommended for summer. ❣Conclusion While I didn't notice dramatic pore reduction as shown on the product page (possibly due to the short usage period), the product itself is decent. I'm not sure if it's worth splurging on, but it's great for hydration and light, moisturizing application in summer. I'd recommend it if you prefer a bouncy, hydrating feel and watery toners.
Cons1. Packaging It's a standard toner bottle, but given the watery consistency, it tends to drip down the sides when you tilt it to dispense. A pump or squeeze bottle might have been more convenient. 2. After-feel As hydrating as it is, it leaves a slightly sticky finish. This might vary from person to person, but I'm quite sensitive to stickiness, so I noticed it. However, it's less sticky compared to other toners, and the hydration is definitely noticeable, so it's not a major drawback and could depend on individual preference.
TipI recommend using it in combination with an exfoliating toner! While it becomes bouncy when absorbed, its watery texture makes it great as an exfoliating toner. Once absorbed, it gives your skin a glow and hydration, making it perfect for use as a hydrating toner too! Personally, I prefer applying it generously, like creating a thick moisture barrier. Since hydration is its standout feature, the user experience is noticeably better when applied thickly! If you apply too little, it might feel a bit sticky or difficult to spread.

Texture - The texture is water-like! Among toners, it feels most similar to the Dokdo toner! Hydration & Moisturizing power - I remember the Dokdo toner didn't suit me well, so I was worried because the texture was similar. However, unlike the Dokdo toner, this one was much more hydrating. It wasn't just water-like, but had moisturizing power too, so it didn't cause any deep dryness and I loved it! Blemishes - The first photo is before use, the middle one is during use, and the last one is today! As you can see in the photos, I had a lot of blemishes due to wearing a mask, but the redness has significantly reduced and you can see how it's calmed my skin. It was great in many aspects!
ConsThe most disappointing aspect was that while it was fine when used as an exfoliating toner, it was difficult to use when dispensing onto my hands as it would spill a lot from the opening. Other than that, I used it without any issues!
TipIn the evening, I used it gently as an exfoliating toner to avoid irritation! In the morning, I patted it on with my hands. It seems like a very basic and fundamental toner, which I really, really liked!

For oily skin: I tend to have oily skin, but this felt moisturizing without being heavy! It's also great for light application during these hot days. Absorption: It absorbs quite quickly and well, leaving my skin feeling moisturized without being too greasy! It really feels like it's locking in the hydration. Soothing: I have mild redness, and when I applied the toner with a cotton pad like a mask, I could feel the redness subsiding and my skin calming down! Blemishes, redness, and other issues: While using it, my skin didn't feel irritated, nor did the redness worsen or any acne appear! Perhaps due to its good ingredients, it was just right for me. Amount: Personally, I found the amount to be generous and satisfactory! Scent: There's a slight scent when you smell it up close, but it wasn't noticeable enough to be bothersome. Gentle ingredients: I thought it was great that I didn't experience any blemishes while using it, and when I checked the ingredients, they were indeed gentle! It's a great product to use after cleansing! It's also light enough for hot summer days, and because it absorbs well, you can apply it multiple times. Also, I have sensitive skin, but I didn't experience any reactions, and it even helped calm my skin, so I think I'll be using it often.
Cons- It flows out quite quickly, making it inconvenient to apply with hands as it splashes everywhere.. It's better to use it with a cotton pad! (Though it still tends to splash near the opening, making it a bit messy.) - People with very dry skin might still feel dry after using this. Also, because the product is quite light, you might feel some tightness or dryness if you use it in winter.
TipIt works well when applied to the skin like a mask using a cotton pad soaked in the product.

I have sensitive combination skin with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks. Applying it twice provided enough hydration, and I followed up with a moisturizer. The fragrance-free formula is great for those sensitive to scents - I prefer unscented products myself. Using it on a cotton pad to prep my skin before makeup improved my foundation application. When I developed heat rash on my neck during summer, applying this toner after cleansing quickly improved it. The gentle formula is a plus. As someone prone to blemishes, I appreciated that this toner's mild ingredients didn't cause any breakouts. That alone made it worthwhile!
ConsIt doesn't provide as much hydration as expected. While it's great for summer, it might be too drying for transitional seasons or winter. If it's not fully absorbed when you open your eyes, it can be incredibly painful compared to other toners. It really stings and makes your eyes water if it gets in them. The watery texture means no stickiness, which is good, but the bottle design causes it to pour out too quickly.

I have super sensitive skin, so I'm always terrified of changing my skincare products. I'm constantly checking ingredients on the Hwahae app! But when I saw this product, I noticed it had no harmful ingredients, which made me feel it was trustworthy. Sure enough, after testing, I had no issues at all! The texture is light, so I didn't expect much and applied it like a lightweight toner. But after a while, I felt hydration rising from deep within my skin! I think this is perfect for someone like me who suffers from deep dryness. I always focus on products that address deep dryness rather than just light toners, and this product hit the mark perfectly. The absorption was good too. It feels especially great in this hot summer weather!
ConsIf I had to find a downside... it's hard to find any because the ingredients are so good! But if I must, I'd say it's not a 100% all-in-one product. And when you first apply it, it's so light that it runs down your face - but that's unavoidable for a toner, right? Since it's such a gentle product, it probably won't provide high-functionality benefits like anti-aging. In this hot summer weather, we all want to finish our routine with just one product, don't we? While it does address deep dryness, one toner can't replace all functions, so you'll definitely need to layer it with other skincare products. Overall, there were hardly any disappointing aspects about this product!
TipI felt like the moisturizing effect faded a bit quickly, so I recommend using it for a mask pack! If you want to lock in hydration and nourishment, this method is a must-try for toners, especially gentle ones with no harmful ingredients. The large volume makes it perfect for mask packs too. It's so moisturizing when used this way! Since it's summer and hot, try soaking cotton pads and keeping them in the fridge before use - it feels amazing! It's also perfect for cooling down your face.

My skin explodes with tiny bumps when it encounters pore-clogging ingredients like cyclo~, dimethicone, stearic acid, etc. Not compatible with citrus scents (stings around the philtrum). Small bumps on forehead and cheeks, with large pores around the butterfly zone. ✔️ Exfoliating toner The watery texture makes it perfect as an exfoliating toner! Personally, I prefer lightweight textures for daytime toners, and this one is just right - not sticky and perfect for daytime use. ✔️ Multi-layer toning Great for multi-layer toning due to its large volume, light texture, and non-sticky feel! I found it worked well to soak a cotton pad generously, wipe my face, and finish with 2-3 layers of toner. ✔️ Ingredients The ingredients are so gentle! My sensitive skin usually reacts badly to pore-clogging ingredients, but there were none here, and my skin felt comfortable. The light, watery texture makes it easy to use for most people! I think even those with super sensitive skin could use this well.
Cons✔️ Hydration While the lightweight feel is great for summer, I feel it might not provide enough hydration for other seasons. That's why I deducted one star. Multi-layer toning helps a bit, but honestly, that can be a hassle. I find myself more drawn to products that feel hydrating from the start. ✔️ Packaging The lid... the lid is so inconvenient! It keeps getting product on the opening and dripping. Also, the plastic feels thin, giving the impression it might break easily if dropped. While this toner would be great for oily or normal skin types, it might not provide enough hydration for dry skin! However, those with dry skin might find it suitable for multi-layer toning.
Tip🍯 Soak a cotton pad generously and use as a toner mask 🍯 Soak a cotton pad generously, wipe the face once, then apply 2-3 layers of toner
