The packaging is absolutely gorgeous. It looks beautiful sitting in my bathroom. It comes with a spatula, which is great for hygienic use. 2. Cleansing effectiveness When I only use foam cleanser after applying sunscreen, it doesn't feel thorough enough. But when I use this product followed by foam cleansing, my skin feels squeaky clean. 3. Scent The fragrance isn't artificial, but rather familiar and pleasant, which I really appreciate. 4. Vegan product While I don't usually pay much attention to whether a product is vegan, knowing it wasn't tested on animals gives me a good feeling.
Cons1. When you first use it, it leaves a slippery feeling on the skin. That's why I think a second cleanse with a foam cleanser is absolutely necessary.
TipYou only need to use a small amount with the spatula for cleansing. There's no need to use too much. Make sure to always follow up with a second cleanse.

Effectively removes sunscreen, foundation, and eyebrow makeup. Doesn't strip the skin of moisture (no dry feeling). It's a vegan product. Doesn't cause blemishes. Has an effect of dissolving sebum (though there's still quite a bit of sebum in my pores, there's definitely less after use). Comes with a built-in spatula, and there's a plastic plate between the spatula and the product with a handle, making it convenient. Also, when using the spatula, you can attach the plastic plate to the lid to prevent contamination, which is really user-friendly. Easier to control the amount and use compared to cleansing oil, and cleansing balm is generally better for people with a lot of peach fuzz.
ConsDoesn't remove eye makeup very well. Considering the regular price, it's not particularly budget-friendly. The amount lasts about a month with daily use. Leaves a slight residue (which is why I do a second cleanse). Doesn't really exfoliate dead skin cells (if you have skin with lots of tiny bumps, I strongly recommend using an exfoliating product in your skincare routine)
TipI have combination dehydrated skin, so I use cleansing balm well, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to those with very oily skin. However, I do recommend it for dry or combination dehydrated skin types. In my case, because there's some residue after using the cleansing balm, I follow up with a low pH cleansing foam. In the morning, I only use the low pH cleansing foam, while at night I use the cleansing balm followed by the low pH cleansing foam. Having only used cleansing foams and oils before, this is my first time trying a cleansing balm, so I'm not sure about its unique characteristics. However, this product has been satisfying enough for me to get into cleansing balms. If it goes on sale, I would definitely repurchase.

As someone with extremely dry skin, I typically use cleansing balms for my skincare routine. What I love about the To Be Gan cleansing balm is that it's vegan, which sets it apart from other products. Additionally, the scent isn't overpowering or artificial, making it pleasant to use.
ConsHowever, I noticed that even after using the balm for my first cleanse and following up with a gentle water-based massage, it didn't completely remove my lip color or eyeliner. Unfortunately, this means double cleansing is still necessary, which is a bit disappointing.
TipI've found that using a lip and eye makeup remover before the cleansing balm eliminates the need for double cleansing. This method works particularly well for those of us with extremely dry skin, especially during the winter months when our skin tends to become dehydrated easily. I highly recommend this approach!

Convenience The solid balm melts into an oil form when gently massaged onto the face using a spatula. Unlike liquid oils that can drip during application, causing inconvenience, this solid form allows for a clean and easy application, which I really appreciated! 2. Cleansing effectiveness The cleansing power is excellent! It's perfect as a second cleanser after using a separate eye makeup remover. 3. Gentle on skin You can use it without any additional tools, just gently massaging with your hands, making it suitable for those with super sensitive skin.
Cons1. Residue Despite its good ingredients, the oil component leaves a slightly slippery residue after rinsing with water alone, necessitating a second cleanse. However, this isn't particularly inconvenient as I've always done a double cleanse when using oils or cleansing waters.
TipThis could also work well for managing blackheads!

Cons- I don't understand the need for an extra lid on the spoon compartment - It has a chamomile scent, which I personally dislike - There's a residual feeling after cleansing

The included spatula is great for hygiene when scooping out the product, and it spreads smoothly. Just apply it to your face and gently roll to melt it in. For best results, keep massaging to really get into those pores and remove all impurities. As I've been transitioning to a vegan lifestyle, I was thrilled to find this brand that aligns with my values - their concept is truly impressive and resonates with me. Despite its gentle ingredients, its cleansing effectiveness is surprisingly good!
ConsIf you're not thorough when massaging it in, you might end up with some residue or clumps. Those with sensitive, oily skin should be cautious, as its rich texture could potentially cause blemishes due to the oil content.

Love that you can store the spatula in the lid - super hygienic. As my first balm product, it gave off strong candle vibes when I opened it. Green grape? Orange? Somewhere in between? Personally, I didn't mind the scent. Using the spatula, I scooped out a good amount and massaged it on my face. It felt oily as it melted, removing even mascara. The cleansing effectiveness is really good, better than most cleansing oils. With my combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes, even after double cleansing with a foam cleanser, my skin still feels hydrated. It seems to work on dead skin cells, and the fact that it removes mascara means I can skip my lip and eye makeup remover and cleansing water steps. Super convenient! Considering it's a vegan product, the price seems reasonable too.
ConsAfter using the product, there's a bit of richness left if you only rinse with water. Since it has that candle-like quality, it does have a bit of a scented candle smell, so those sensitive to fragrances might not like it. As for dissolving sebum, I'll need to use it more to really tell.
