The scent is a strong herbal lemon fragrance when you're washing your hair or right after, but it's not a lingering or subtle scent. It cleanses the scalp with small, soft, fine bubbles without any irritation. The best part? Even with just shampoo, your hair finishes smooth without any tangles. Personally, I have a scalp that doesn't get oily easily (I can go two days without washing) and I have psoriasis, so I avoid shampoos with lots of harsh ingredients (they cause immediate reactions). With this product, I didn't experience any worsening of my psoriasis or sudden changes in my scalp condition. No blemishes at all. If used consistently, I have a good feeling it will promote a healthier scalp.
ConsThe one downside was that for someone like me with thick, long hair, the amount of lather was way too little. I needed to pump at least 5-6 times. Oh, my precious shampoo...

Despite its clear appearance, it lathers surprisingly well. The lemon scent is refreshingly zesty. While it doesn't give a tingling sensation on the scalp, it leaves a pleasant cooling effect after rinsing. With its quality ingredients, it's a trustworthy choice for regular use.
ConsUnlike some shampoos that leave hair soft just from washing, this one makes hair feel stiff and tangled during the wash itself. Without using conditioner, detangling becomes quite challenging. It seems the focus on beneficial ingredients comes at the cost of some convenience, which might be unavoidable.
TipBrush your hair before shampooing

The natural lemon-ginger scent might be an acquired taste, but I personally enjoyed it. The instructions suggest shampooing twice, which makes sense as those with oily hair might find their scalp getting a bit greasy by evening if they only wash once in the morning. As my hair isn't extremely oily, I find that one wash with warm water is sufficient for me.
ConsThe lather isn't very rich. Compared to the Aromatica Tea Tree shampoo I was using before, the foam is definitely less dense, and the cleansing effectiveness is somewhat lower when using the same amount. That's probably why they recommend washing twice. The pump dispenser makes it a bit tricky to control the amount of shampoo - it tends to come out in a sudden burst. That's a bit disappointing. Also, those with long hair might find their locks feeling slightly stiff after washing. As I have short hair, it doesn't bother me, but if you're particular about styling, you might want to use a conditioner, treatment, or hair essence.
TipI've noticed that water temperature is crucial when shampooing. Using water that's slightly warmer than body temperature, around 40°C, to thoroughly wet your hair before shampooing seems to result in a much more effective cleanse. It's also important not to use too much shampoo - just the right amount. Massaging your scalp with your fingertips while shampooing might even help with preventing hair loss.

But then I won this shampoo, which is supposed to be good for oily scalps, so I tried it right away and it was better than I expected! First off, the scent is refreshing - it's like a mix of tea tree and citrus. It's a cool fragrance, so it might be hit or miss for some people. I found it quite nice though! When I first used the shampoo, I was surprised by how little it lathered. But then I noticed the instructions to wash twice, and when I did that, it foamed up nicely! After using it, while the oiliness doesn't dramatically disappear, I noticed that my scalp, which usually gets itchy after shampooing, felt calmer and didn't itch. Plus, some blemishes I had are now gone! I love how squeaky clean my hair feels now.
ConsI wish the pump was a bit smoother. You're supposed to press down halfway according to the instructions, but it's so stiff that the product just shoots out!
TipMake sure to wet your hair thoroughly! Also, there's an instruction leaflet included - it's crucial to follow those directions.

The subtle blend of herbal notes with a fresh lemon scent made me want to keep using it. Often, products with great ingredients lack cleansing power, while those with strong cleansing abilities can have an unpleasant medicinal smell. This shampoo excels in both areas. The gentle fragrance lingered even after rinsing. Its effective cleansing left my scalp feeling refreshed, which would be perfect for oily scalps. Even with my combination scalp, I felt thoroughly cleansed and satisfied. For me, a good lather is important for that clean feeling, and this shampoo foamed up nicely. I also appreciated the generous 473ml size.
ConsThe powerful cleansing action might leave those with dry scalps feeling a bit parched. However, even for dry scalp types, it could be great for summer when sweat and sebum production increase. While it's excellent for deep cleansing, it may be particularly beneficial for those dealing with excessive scalp flaking.
TipIf you're concerned about dryness, try applying the shampoo only to your scalp and use a conditioner or treatment on your hair lengths to maintain moisture balance.

Looking at the ingredients list, I see many related components. Though masked by the citrus scent, I can detect hints of brewer's yeast, which I've tried taking separately before. This suggests to me that the active ingredients are indeed working. While the product claims significant results after 3 months of use, I can't say my hair has grown dramatically after just 2 weeks! However, it cleanses thoroughly, and unlike harsh shampoos that trigger my seborrheic dermatitis, this one leaves my scalp feeling refreshed without any irritation. It seems to be a quality shampoo. I've even recommended it to my husband, and we're using it together now.
ConsThe scent might be polarizing. Since I've taken brewer's yeast supplements before, it doesn't bother me, but some might find it has a slightly earthy smell. After rinsing, only a subtle citrus fragrance remains.
TipI use a Daiso shampoo brush for scalp massage while washing, leave the product on for about 2 minutes while I soap up my body, then rinse it off.

My routine involves a light initial wash with one pump, followed by a thorough scalp massage with a second pump. The fragrance is divine! It's like having an aromatherapy session - the lemon scent is prominent but natural, not artificial. The scent lingers as long as other shampoos I've tried. It's so gentle! As mentioned, my scalp usually goes haywire with just one use of an incompatible shampoo. I was hesitant to try something new, but without taking chances, we'd be stuck using the same products forever. Happily, this was a success, and I'll definitely repurchase! You can feel how mild it is on your scalp. The cleansing effectiveness is great! While working from home means less exposure to outdoor pollutants, when I do go out on weekends, this shampoo effectively removes all the grime upon my return.
ConsThe only downside is the stiffness. Since it's not a treatment or conditioner, some stiffness after shampooing is expected. However, when used alone, it seems to tangle the hair quite a bit. I'm afraid of breakage, so I gently brush it only after it's completely dry (though this does leave it feeling nice and fluffy).

Seems like it's now available in Korea? Anyway, let's begin. Application: The Gold Label has a refreshing aroma... A hint of lemon or fruit scent that briefly passes. It has a thin shampoo consistency, and just when you think it won't lather, suddenly it goes 'whoosh' with lots of foam. You don't need to squeeze out too much, just gently massage for about 4 seconds and it'll suddenly foam up. Effects: I was surprised by the instruction to use it twice a day. I just assumed it meant once in the morning and once at night, so that's what I did. My hair tends to be curly, but this has a calming effect. When I used the blue bottle before, it helped with my circular hair loss, so I'm using this one with high hopes. For chronic circular hair loss, I think the best approach is eating lots of protein (beef is good), using a quality shampoo, and taking supplements regularly. Steroid injections are said to be the most effective, but I suffered terribly from scalp depression because of those injections. So I'm quite picky about good and bad shampoos. Since I've seen results with Pura D'or before, I'm hoping this will help with my current circular hair loss too. Grow, hair, grow!
ConsWhen I turned the pump to dispense the product, I noticed some shampoo had leaked around the neck area where the pump is attached. So I bought a cheap bottle from Daiso for 1000 won and transferred the shampoo into that. Also, I remember the blue Pura D'or having a stronger lemon scent, which I found more refreshing and pleasant.
TipYou need to wet your hair thoroughly, like really, really wet, before shampooing... Let's stay strong, fellow hair loss sufferers!
