When applied to blemishes, you can see a slight improvement the next day While the blemishes do subside a bit, the area becomes very red after removal. It seems to cause quite a bit of irritation - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 28, 2022
The patches are securely packaged to prevent damage to the microneedles. Even after 8+ hours post-cleansing, they stayed firmly in place. The metal-like microneedles gave a pricking sensation, which felt hygienic and effective. The next day, my blemishes were noticeably calmer! I hoped the microneedles would target my blemishes directly, but their honeycomb structure with an empty center made it tricky to align with smaller spots. After the recommended 8-hour application, my blemishes seemed improved, but they resurfaced the following day. These patches seem more effective for larger blemishes rather than smaller ones! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 28, 2022
The patches have the advantage of being untouchable, which helped the blemish disappear without leaving a mark. One ripened pimple burst when I removed the patch on the second day, and by the fourth day, it had subsided. There's still some redness, but I believe if I keep applying the patches consistently, it won't leave a scar! The adhesive seems to irritate my skin, causing a lot of itching where the patch is applied. (It's an uncomfortable itch that I can't seem to get used to.) I think it works best when applied just as you feel a blemish starting to form, before it fully develops! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 11, 2021
I thought this would be more effective than other acne patches on the market... Instead, it made my blemishes worse and larger. I tried it for a few days, waited, then tried again, but the same thing happened. It's completely ineffective... Such a disappointment. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinOct 10, 2021
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. It's my first time using a microneedle patch product, so I can't compare it to other brands. I should mention that upfront! As emphasized in the product description, each patch is individually sealed like a pill, which I think is the biggest advantage. It prevents contamination and allows you to use just one at a time when needed (photo attached). I noticed the individual packaging shows care in protecting the microneedles. It's labeled for 'firm pimples', but I didn't get any during the testing period. Not sure if that's good or bad... Anyway, since I couldn't test it on the ideal type of blemish, I'll share my experience using it on chin acne and ambiguous spots between pustules and blackheads on my cheeks. If I get to try it on a firm pimple later, I'll update my review. After applying it to the affected area and pressing down vertically, it felt more like a gentle press with a fingernail rather than pain. You can definitely feel the microneedles after application. When I put it on my chin, it was particularly bothersome, so I removed it after just 2 hours. On my cheek, it felt noticeable at first, but eventually I forgot it was there. I even forgot to remove it in the morning after applying before bed. The short time on my chin didn't show much effect, but the one on my cheek seemed to have slightly reduced the blemish when I checked. However, since it's not a medication or product that directly treats acne, I didn't see any dramatic effects, which is understandable. While it seemed to have calmed down, the next morning I noticed a yellow, inflamed spot in the same area. It's in an awkward state where I can't easily extract it, so I'm leaving it alone for now. The adhesion isn't very strong. It's natural that the stiff microneedle part doesn't adhere well to curved areas, but... I think my expectations were too high because the product description claimed it was easy to apply to curved surfaces. The one on my chin wasn't sticking well, which is partly why I removed it. Fortunately, it stayed on securely on my cheek. The price is also a bit of a concern. Each pack contains 4 patches, and when I first received it, I thought it might be over-packaged considering the number of products. Given that they're single-use, they're quite expensive. While there are several disappointing aspects, as mentioned, I'll update my review after using it on a firm pimple for overnight care, which is the optimal use case according to the product description. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 7, 2021
*This review was written as part of The Hwahae Testers event* I have combination, sensitive skin with a lot of blemishes that I'm concerned about. First, I'd like to mention that this was my first time using microneedle patches. I thought I was only getting one 4-patch pack, so I was already planning where to put them on my face. But to my surprise, I received three packs! I even gave one to my sister to try. The needle part was silver with visible pointy bits, so I was worried it might hurt. But when I applied it and pressed gently, it felt a bit painful at first, then cooling. Since it's said to be most effective when worn for 8 hours, I put them on before bed! I tried them on 3 different spots: 1. A blemish that seemed to have white pus inside, but the surrounding skin was too thick to squeeze 2. An area where I had popped a pimple before and mismanaged it, resulting in blood trapped underneath 3. A regular pus-filled blemish My sister used it twice for over 8 hours each time on areas like #1 - red and swollen but unsqueezable. She said the swelling visibly decreased and it quickly soothed the painful spots where there's less flesh. She thought it was very effective. In summary, it worked well on areas that were red and swollen but hadn't come to a head yet. I applied the patches once for over 8 hours on the 3 spots I mentioned earlier. In the morning, I found that spot #1 had turned into a regular pus-filled blemish. Spot #2 showed no change, and spot #3 had burst and partially healed, but some pus remained inside. So I had to pop it again with a cotton swab and apply a regular patch. It did heal, but I was a bit disappointed. Maybe I expected too dramatic results all at once. It seems to work differently for everyone - it didn't suit me well, but my sister really liked it and praised it. Another downside was the price. I found out that one pack of 4 patches costs 8,000 won, which is more expensive compared to other microneedle patches! Personally, I think it's not great value for money. It seems to work best on deep-set blemishes with hardened skin like spot #1, rather than on already mature pimples. Also, it looks like you need to apply it for at least 8-10 hours twice, not just once, to see noticeable results!
