This is a product that I have been using consistently well. The fragrance is aromatic and slightly sweet at the end, with no hint of wasabi. While the presence of salt makes it a bit burdensome to use daily, my scalp feels refreshed and invigorated after using it. The price is quite expensive, and there are salt granules, so it may be too irritating for daily use. Scoop it up in the palm of your hand, press it with the other hand, and apply it to the scalp. Shampooing afterward will ensure the salt granules are well-distributed, resulting in a more refreshing sensation. Be sure to let it sit for about 5 minutes after shampooing, and you will experience a truly pleasant and Hwahae-like refreshing sensation. - jh*****Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresMay 5, 2025
Since I have an oily scalp, it gives me a refreshing sensation when washing, making me feel like I've cleansed thoroughly. I bought this based on recommendations for oily skin, but even after washing in the morning, by evening my hair looks unwashed and greasy again. I thought it might be due to my naturally oily scalp, but when I switched to a different shampoo, I could go a day without washing and it wouldn't get greasy. So I've given up on this one. It's also way too expensive. - sp*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 4, 2025
The wasabi shampoo was so good, I could see myself using it for life. As someone with thick hair who never really thought about scalp vitality, I was surprised to find that my scalp muscles were quite tense and sore when massaged. The best part about using this shampoo was the incredibly refreshing sensation that lasted for 5-10 minutes after massaging! This cooling effect persisted until I dried my hair and got into bed, making it perfect for relieving fatigue and stress. Thanks to the lemon ingredient, it cleanses thoroughly without leaving hair greasy, yet it doesn't feel overly dry. My straightened hair even held its style until the next day. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to boost scalp health, men concerned about hair loss, office workers who use their brains a lot, or anyone in need of some revitalization. There's really nothing to complain about with this wasabi shampoo. Even the scent is pleasant - once rinsed, you're left with a subtle lemon fragrance without any overpowering wasabi smell. Pro tip: Don't rinse the shampoo out immediately. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes before washing it off. Your scalp will feel incredibly refreshed! - im*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 19, 2025
Absolutely fantastic! Perfect for those who struggle with scalp odor. The cooling effect is incredible - way better than any other so-called 'cooling' shampoos out there. Though it's a bit pricey, I use it as a treat when I want to refresh my scalp. The scent is pleasant, not at all like wasabi as some might expect. A little goes a long way in terms of lather too. The downside is that it stings quite badly if it gets in your eyes. Also, the scent tends to go off towards the end of the bottle. It's a shame it's not included in the empty bottle recycling program - that's something I'd love to see improved. - ju*****Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 29, 2024
I was worried it might smell like wasabi due to its name 'Wasabi Shan Kui', but thankfully it doesn't! The scent is somewhere between a sweet lemon and citrus fragrance. It has a thin consistency with little wasabi beads inside, which helps exfoliate the scalp. True to Lush products, I love the rich lather it produces. There's a cooling effect that's not just temporary - even after rinsing, your scalp feels refreshed for a few minutes. It's perfect for hot summer days when your scalp feels overheated, leaving you feeling cool and refreshed. While the scent is pleasantly fresh and cool, it's not very strong and doesn't last long. Even after thoroughly rinsing with water, you might still find small wasabi beads here and there when applying conditioner. It requires much more careful rinsing than expected. - uz****Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 14, 2024
The scent is absolutely delightful, and the salt content gives a refreshing sensation. For oily scalps, this product is unbeatable. However, it feels even better when used occasionally. The price is quite steep. I stock up during Fresh sales. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedApr 6, 2024
The instant cooling effect upon application provides an incredibly pleasant experience. The sweet lemon scent is also a mood-lifter. After use, I noticed my hair felt significantly stiffer compared to other products. - ta***Dehydrated SkinRecommendedMar 28, 2024
I love the refreshing lemon scent instead of wasabi, and the cooling effect leaves my scalp feeling invigorated. The price is quite steep, so I have to stock up during Lush sales. Also, my hair feels a bit stiff after washing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRednessRecommendedFeb 15, 2024
I bought this during a Lush sale and I'm really pleased. It leaves my hair feeling fresh, has a lovely scent, and even makes my scalp feel invigorated. It's quite pricey when not on sale. I think I'll need to stock up during discount periods. - ab****Dehydrated SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 7, 2024
I was worried because it contains wasabi, but the scent is surprisingly fresh. It has excellent cleansing effectiveness and feels cool due to the menthol. The wicked price makes me hesitate to purchase, and there are many concerning ingredients that make it difficult to use daily.
