This cleansing water met my criteria for the following reasons: First, it has excellent cleansing power. Some people expect cleansing water to remove long-lasting water tints and mascara, but that's not its primary function. Cleansing water is for the first step of cleansing, not for all-in-one makeup removal. That's what lip and eye makeup removers are for. So, what should a first-step cleanser be able to remove? In my opinion, it's glitter. Even after thorough cleansing with makeup remover, cleansing water, and foam cleanser, we often find ourselves frustrated by stubborn glitter around the eyes. But as you can see in the attached photo, this product effortlessly removes glitter with just one swipe of a soaked cotton pad, without any fallout. Anyone who wears makeup regularly will appreciate how significant this is. Second, it's not drying. If you're not wearing heavy makeup, you can complete your cleansing routine with just this water, no additional rinsing required. This feature is a real advantage because it leaves your skin feeling moisturized and supple after use. Third, it's gentle on the skin. Despite not being a second-step cleanser, it can remove most makeup, including glitter, with just a couple of swipes. This means you don't have to rub hard, which prevents skin irritation. This cleansing water was my introduction to the brand, and it's made me curious about their other products. I'll likely repurchase it with my own money when I run out. In summary, it's perfect as a tool to prepare for a second cleanse, and it's equally satisfying when used on its own, with effective cleansing power and adherence to its core functions.
ConsWhile I didn't find any significant drawbacks, the scent might be divisive. It's like a mix of floral notes and a hint of sausage. However, the fragrance dissipates quickly, so if you're not particularly sensitive to scents, you'll likely be satisfied with your purchase.
TipThe attached photos show: (Left) A cotton pad after one swipe on skin with base makeup, stick eyeshadow, glitter eyeshadow, tint, and mascara, using the cleansing water. (Right) The result after using my regular lip and eye makeup remover, followed by this cleansing water to remove remaining glitter and oil residue.
