I think I've gone through about 4-5 bottles so far! While it's a base product without coverage, I layer it thinly with a puff to help with my redness. Not only do I prefer a more natural look, but my friends have also mentioned that my skin looks better than when I use foundation or cushion compacts. It seems that lighter makeup doesn't clog my pores as much, resulting in less skin irritation and fewer blemishes when cleansing.
ConsAs it's a lightweight base product, the staying power isn't great and it comes off easily with water or sweat. (Personally, I prefer this as it's less burdensome to remove, but some might not like it.) If you apply the Hince base after using skincare products with high oil content, the base can pill a bit. While it feels moisturizing when first applied, it tends to dry out over time.
TipThis product doesn't contain irritating ingredients, so you can reapply it multiple times without worry. Although I mentioned that it comes off easily as a downside, you can simply reapply it. It's also convenient to carry around for touch-ups. I recommend using a cushion puff instead of your fingers to apply it. When I used my hands, the heat caused my skin to feel warm and the application wasn't even. Using a cushion puff is highly recommended! While you can't expect much coverage, if you're looking for a base that brightens dull skin and evens out your complexion, I'd suggest trying the Hince Skin Tone-Up Base.

I used to trust and enjoy Hince lipsticks, but this was a letdown.
ConsIt made my skin look like it had severe dead skin cells and enlarged pores. The foundation didn't blend well, causing pilling and patchy application, leaving my skin feeling parched. The worst part? After removing my makeup, I noticed my skin looked terrible on days I used this. I gave it to my sister, but she returned it, finding it equally awful. Ended up tossing it out.

I also appreciated not having to use a separate sunscreen product.
ConsThe staying power is severely lacking. I applied it alone before going out, and it had completely worn off my forehead in less than an hour. After using it for three consecutive days, I developed cystic acne on skin that rarely breaks out after proper care. I also have quite a bit of dead skin cells, and sometimes you can see the product pilling immediately after application.
TipThis might work better for covering under-eye dark circles rather than as an all-over face product!

It just makes your skin slightly brighter? The amount is fairly generous.
Cons1. Caused severe blemishes all over my face, to the point of ruining it. 2. Applying it over emulsion = completely pills. 3. Applying it on moisturized skin = clumps and slides off. 4. Unnecessarily expensive. 5. It's puzzling why the texture is so thin when it actually dries out the skin. 6. Definitely won't be spending money on this again.
TipIf you're ever painting and run out of green, you could use this as a substitute, haha!

With just this product alone, my complexion looks radiant and translucent.
ConsOverall, I'm satisfied, but occasionally when applying, there's a bit of pilling or bunching up. It smooths out fine when I spread it evenly though.

The SPF and PA are so strong you might not even need a separate sunscreen, and the color is perfect for those with redness issues. As soon as you apply it, your complexion instantly brightens and feels firm. Even as time passes, it doesn't leave a white cast but creates a transparent and dewy complexion!
ConsYou need to apply less of this compared to regular sunscreen. If you apply too much, there's some pilling and it can clump dryly around dead skin cells. It seems essential to spread just the right amount evenly.

While I personally prefer a more natural look close to my skin tone, this product significantly brightens the skin. It doesn't look cakey, and after a while, it blends well with my skin, brightening it to about a shade 17. I'd recommend this to those who like a brighter complexion. Texture: The lightweight formula applies smoothly without feeling heavy on the skin. It feels like a moisturizing makeup base when applied, but doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy or suffocated throughout the day. However, it seems to develop a slight glow over time, so those who prefer a matte finish might want to set it with some powder. Skin-friendly: I'm pleased that it doesn't cause any blemishes. I've worn it all day, even with a mask on and off, and touched up with cushion foundation, but haven't experienced any small bumps or acne breakouts. Value for money: The container feels full when shaken. A small amount covers the face well, with enough left for the neck. It should last for a long time. However, for effective sun protection, you might need to reapply thin layers frequently. Coverage: I chose the green base to cover redness on my cheeks, and it effectively conceals redness, blemishes, and uneven skin tone naturally. While it's not as targeted as a concealer, it gives the impression of naturally bright and clear skin. I'm satisfied with the results. It might also be effective for those who get flushed after drinking alcohol.
ConsThe shade might be too light for everyone to use comfortably. When my face gets hot and my pores around the cheeks enlarge, the product settles into them, creating noticeable white patches. This is quite disappointing. After wearing and removing a mask, there's some pilling and clumping in certain areas, requiring gentle patting to smooth out.
TipSpraying a face mist before application helps it apply smoothly on dry areas like the chin without any patchiness. Without this step, it can look white and emphasize dryness around the chin and mouth area.

Application: I've always struggled with makeup looking patchy, but when I don't want to wear a full face, this alone seems perfect! I had a green base from another brand that I abandoned because it made my skin feel too dry. However, the Hince tone-up base applies smoothly and doesn't over-dry my skin over time, so it doesn't emphasize flakiness. I'm satisfied with how natural the skin looks. Still, since green bases tend to be a bit drying, it's best to use a rich, hydrating skincare routine underneath. Natural brightening effect: While it doesn't have heavy coverage to completely hide redness, it definitely calms the redness and gives the skin a clear, translucent look. At first, I thought I applied too much and looked too pale, but after a while, it settled into a natural, slightly brightened version of my own skin tone. Pore-filling: I have large pores on my nose, and this gives a smooth, pore-filling effect.
ConsIt doesn't pair well with quick-drying, matte foundations, and if you don't let your skincare absorb properly, it can pill a bit (hello, flake party!). When you're in a hurry, you might want to apply quickly, but you need to pay attention to skincare absorption. Also, it comes off easily when in contact with water. I'm a bit wary of using it in summer when I sweat a lot...!
TipUsing a sponge absorbs too much product, so at first, it seems best to apply with your hands. Just pat it in gently!
