It doesn't leave residue on hands. ✓ The semi-matte formula will be great for summer use. ✓ The brightening effect is just right, not too intense.
Cons✓ It applies quite thinly, so the coverage is somewhat light. ✓ A subtle fragrance might have been nice.
Tip✓ Applying primer beforehand helps it go on even more smoothly.

For my very dry skin, it applies smoothly without pilling, which is great. The high SPF is perfect for light makeup days or when I want to step out with just a quick application!
ConsWhile I'm using it without any issues, I think it might be more suitable for those with dry skin rather than those with oily skin types.
TipFor best results, apply a thin layer and pat it in thoroughly. This helps prevent pilling and ensures that subsequent skincare products layer well.

As a member of The Hwahae Testers, I tried to test this product as thoroughly as possible! - First of all, it has an incredibly thin, water-like texture that glides on smoothly and melts into the skin. It's almost like watercolor paint - it spreads effortlessly and feels incredibly lightweight. - Thanks to its light texture, it doesn't create an unnatural tone-up effect. It gives that signature Hince brand look - a clear complexion that looks like bare skin but better. While it doesn't offer coverage, it does brighten the overall skin tone, making it appear clearer. - It's often said that green helps neutralize redness in skin. As someone with severe redness, I found that the green tone-up effect made my skin look much more natural, which I was very satisfied with.
ConsHowever... there was one major drawback for me that overshadowed all these positive points. - The most overwhelming disadvantage is... the strong scent typical of organic UV filters in sunscreens. It's that unmistakable smell that makes you think 'Oh, this person is wearing sunscreen' when you're near them. For my nose, it's too intense. While the scent does dissipate after some time, it was particularly challenging these days when wearing a mask, as I felt trapped in that sunscreen smell. It's really such a shame. I dislike this sunscreen's distinctive scent so much that... despite liking the product in many ways, I just can't bring myself to use it.
TipIf you're sensitive to sunscreen scents, I wouldn't recommend this product.

Scent - There's no strong fragrance, just a mild, typical cosmetic scent. Hydration💧 - It's definitely one of the most hydrating base products I've used. The moisture level is similar to a hydrating foundation or slightly drier. Application - Thanks to its hydrating properties, it applies smoothly. You don't need to prep your skin with intense moisturizers for it to glide on well. As someone with very dry skin, I love that it's hydrating without feeling suffocating, and it doesn't cause my makeup to pill. I usually have severe redness and could never dream of using blush, but this product conceals my redness so well that after applying base makeup, I can even add blush without worrying!
ConsLike all green-based products, if used without an orange-toned base, it might accentuate dark circles, especially for those who struggle with them.
TipFor best results, dispense a small amount onto the back of your hand, then apply to your face starting from the center and working outwards. Begin by gently rolling it on, then pat it in as you move towards the outer areas of your face. This method helps the product adhere better to your skin!

I have a summer cool-toned complexion (19-21 shade), with almost no blemishes but prone to redness! ✔ It has great adherence! My base makeup routine goes: sunscreen -> foundation -> powder. I was worried that adding a brightening moisturizer might cause pilling, but there was absolutely no issue! The formula itself is quite fluid, so it feels light on the skin! It's perfect for those who prefer a lightweight makeup look. I've attached a photo of the texture for reference! ✔ It effectively neutralizes redness! Some brightening products just make your skin look whiter without addressing redness, but this one really helps balance out any ruddiness. It applies evenly, making it easy even for beginners to use with just a few swipes! If you're looking for a lightweight brightening moisturizer that definitely tackles redness, I highly recommend the Hince Tone-Up Base! After trying this product provided by The Hwahae Testers, I'm definitely planning to repurchase it with my own money!
ConsWhile there aren't many downsides: ✔ When used alone, the staying power isn't particularly long-lasting. ✔ The scent might be divisive - you'll either love it or hate it!
TipPro tip: I use it with a damp Real Techniques sponge, and it applies beautifully for a dewy finish!

I also have somewhat visible pores, and my skin reacts badly to products with incompatible ingredients, so I always check the ingredient list carefully. Fortunately, all the ingredients in this product are fine! Usually, if something doesn't suit me, my skin turns red immediately, but I've been using this for days without any such reaction. Looking at the before and after photos, you can clearly see how it covers both pores and redness, right? I'm not usually a fan of thick textures, but this applies lightly, which I love. It provides surprisingly good coverage while still feeling thin and natural on the skin. I used to use sunscreen and a light layer of cushion foundation, but now I think I can get away with just this product and sunscreen. The main advantages I'd highlight are: 1. Redness coverage 2. Pore coverage 3. Lightweight formula 4. Effective brightening
ConsIf I had to pick one drawback, it might be the scent? But honestly, unless you're deliberately sniffing it up close, you won't notice it, so it shouldn't be a concern.
TipBe careful not to apply too much, or it can make your skin look too pale! I recommend using slightly less than what you see in the photo. The first time I used it, I squeezed out too much without thinking and was surprised by how light it made my complexion... just a heads up!
