Cleansing effectiveness - Despite its transparent formula, which I initially thought would cleanse like a typical mild acidic foam cleanser, it actually provided quite a deep cleanse. However, it's not a complete deep cleansing. It felt like it thoroughly removed any remaining makeup after I'd already taken off my point makeup and heavy foundation. Texture and feel - When using it, it felt fresh and hydrating. It wasn't squeaky clean, nor was it super moisturizing - more of a balanced in-between feeling. Quantity - The product comes in a generous size. It didn't feel like a complete deep cleanse. To be honest, I'm a bit of a cleanser nomad and I'll use pretty much anything as long as it's not a low pH cleansing foam. This one felt similar to others I've tried. However, among those, it did stand out as being gentle and easy to use. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJul 29, 2022
First off, I'm thrilled and grateful to have been selected as one of The Hwahae Testers! The simplicity of the packaging is immediately apparent. As someone who appreciates minimalism, I was drawn to the container's design. I love that it's transparent, allowing you to see the clear formula inside and easily check how much product you've used. The scent comes from the raw ingredients rather than added fragrances. However, as I applied it to my face, I found myself liking it less and less. While cleansing, the smell became quite unpleasant, making me wish for a bit of fragrance after all. As someone who typically only wears sunscreen and foundation, I didn't have high expectations for its cleansing effectiveness. However, I decided to test it on eyeliner and lipstick. The cleansing power wasn't particularly impressive. It took two cleansing sessions to remove most of the eyeliner. For this product to gain widespread popularity, I think it needs a bit more research and development. While I don't have any specific tips to share, I'll continue using the product and update my review if I discover any positive experiences worth mentioning! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 29, 2022
First off, I loved that it's a vegan product with eco-friendly packaging. While it did arrive in a rather large box, there wasn't any unnecessary filler or extra wrapping inside, which made me feel good right from the start. I also appreciated the transparent container that lets you see how much product is left. Although I was initially unsure about the thick gel-type cleansing foam, as it was my first time using one, I was pleasantly surprised by how rich the lather was when I worked it in my hands. It didn't cause any discomfort during use. As someone with super sensitive skin that tends to react badly to unsuitable cleansers, I was relieved that this product didn't trigger any adverse reactions. I think it's because of the minimal ingredient list and the absence of harmful substances. Usually, I can't use cleansing foams daily, but I've been able to use this one consistently since I received it without any issues. My skin is too sensitive for makeup, so I can't really comment on its ability to remove heavy cosmetics. However, I found it effective at removing my basic skincare and sunscreen without needing a separate first cleanse. Overall, I think it's a great product for daily use, with its rich lather and absence of fragrance. As someone sensitive to fragrances, I typically opt for unscented products. While I appreciated that this cleanser is fragrance-free, it did have a slight dish soap scent when I first used it, which I considered a drawback. Due to its gentle formulation, I'm not sure if it's particularly effective for deep cleansing. It doesn't seem to be the best choice for removing blackheads or other stubborn impurities. Also, after use, my skin doesn't feel especially hydrated or mattified, so I'm unsure which skin type to recommend it for. It seems like it's primarily designed for those with extremely sensitive skin. This isn't exactly a pro tip, but as it was my first time using a gel-type cleansing foam in a tube, I initially found it tricky to dispense the right amount. While a small amount does lather up nicely, if you're having trouble controlling the quantity, you might consider transferring it to a pump-type bottle for easier use. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 29, 2022
Light, foamy texture with a refreshing and effective cleansing power! Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin prone to inflammatory blemishes • Creates light and dense foam • Contains moisturizing ingredients for a hydrated and soft finish (might feel slightly slippery) • Excellent cooling effect after cleansing (made my usually cooling toner pads feel lukewarm in comparison) • The micro-dust cleansing properties seem to contribute to a cleaner finish Overall, I loved the gentle, lightweight, and refreshing feel Perfect for morning cleansing for combination and oily skin types who wake up with an oily film on their face Sufficient for double cleansing when using non-waterproof sunscreen When removing makeup, it can be difficult to determine if cleansing is complete due to the moisturizing ingredients, especially when used as a second step after cleansing oil to remove residual oil - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJul 26, 2022
Appearance: The transparent packaging and clear product make it easy to see how much is left. Texperience: Unlike many gel-type foams that are often low pH and feel slippery, this one doesn't leave that typical low pH residue. It doesn't make your skin squeaky clean, nor does it cause tightness. It strikes just the right balance for a thorough cleanse! It doesn't lather well on its own. I had to use a foaming net to create a decent lather, but even then, the foam was a bit runny rather than rich and creamy. (The attached photo shows the foam created with a net) Cleansing effectiveness: While it's a gentle product and shouldn't be judged too harshly on its cleansing power, it's worth noting that it removes organic UV filters but struggles with inorganic ones. It's perfect for morning cleansing! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinJul 23, 2022
Texture: Before water contact, the texture feels gel-like. When water touches it and you rub it with your hands, it creates a rich, elastic foam, enabling foam cleansing. This bouncy foam helps you cleanse your face thoroughly. It feels like it's effectively drawing out sebum from deep within the pores. Scent: It's fragrance-free. I'm extremely sensitive to scents, but this doesn't have any smell at all. Design: True to the brand name, it's incredibly simple. It doesn't look like a cleanser, more like a soothing cream? I love this minimalist design. Taste: When cleansing, it's inevitable that a bit gets into your mouth. The taste you experience then is quite off-putting. It's extremely bitter... Rinsing: After cleansing, it feels very slippery when washing off. Even after rinsing repeatedly with water, it still feels slippery... Because of this, I might not reach for it often after using it a few times. It makes me feel like something wasn't cleaned off properly and leaves me feeling uneasy. When using it for the first time, if you wet it with plenty of water, it creates even more foam, making it easier to cleanse! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 22, 2022
Here's my review after using this cleanser morning and night for 3 days. For context, I only use sunscreen. When I first applied it, it reminded me of hair gel. My initial thoughts were: 1. Wow, it's gentler than I expected! As someone with sensitive skin who only uses non-irritating cleansers, I usually switch products immediately if I feel any irritation after rubbing it in. But this one caused almost no irritation, so it passed the test. 2. The ingredients list is simple. While I don't necessarily think a simple ingredients list is a huge advantage, it does increase the likelihood of working well for sensitive skin types. I appreciate that it's also fragrance-free. 3. How well does it cleanse? It removed my sunscreen effectively. I'm not sure about its claims for pore care or removing fine dust particles though! 4. The gel texture made it great for massaging into the skin - nice and slippery. Overall, I want to give it a high score for being so gentle, but if someone asked me if this is THE cleansing foam to buy, I'd probably choose something else. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars. There are many products on the market that are both non-irritating and provide more noticeable pore care. If it rinsed off a bit more thoroughly, the fresh finish would make it great for year-round use. Some downsides I noticed from the second use: 1. While the foam itself isn't irritating, it doesn't rinse off easily. It's so slippery that it keeps clinging to the skin. I end up irritating my skin trying to remove the leftover cleanser. I haven't seen other reviews mention this, but while I might rinse 15 times with other cleansing foams, with this one I'm rinsing 25 times... It's just so slippery. 2. It doesn't lather well. The gel clumps up in places, so the foam starts to form but then stops. Other reviews say it lathers well - how are they doing it?? When I apply it to my face, there's a big difference in the amount of foam... While it's non-irritating due to its slipperiness, it just doesn't create much lather. 3. Fragrance-free It's supposed to be fragrance-free, but there's a faint detergent-like smell. I do have a sensitive nose, but it's not completely scent-free. As someone who prefers pleasant fragrances in cleansers, this is a bit disappointing. While I'm using this because it was provided to me, I'm not sure why I would choose to buy this specific product out of the many options available.
