- It's my first time seeing a vegan cosmetic product with a refill pack. I transferred the contents to an empty container I had. I really appreciate their environmental consciousness. - Although it looks thick and viscous, it applies smoothly and provides excellent hydration. - It absorbs well into the skin. - Even when my sensitive skin was experiencing blemishes, it didn't cause any tingling sensation and felt soothing. - As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I noticed increased oiliness in my T-zone over time, though it was perfect for my dry U-zone. I'd recommend this product for those with dry skin. - The scent is unique, somewhat like a fermented medicinal smell (not to my personal liking). - On the flip side, not having a dedicated container might be a bit inconvenient. Also, I found the price a bit high for a refill format. It's great that you can reuse your empty cosmetic containers with this refill pack. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
A cream with an overwhelming amount of oil compared to hydration, perfect for those with dry skin. Despite its thick and heavy texture, it's remarkably spreadable without pilling, even when applied generously. The finish is not sticky but rather smooth, and it absorbs quickly, so it's not particularly uncomfortable to use. The scent is reminiscent of old-fashioned bath emulsions, which might be challenging for those sensitive to fragrances. However, as someone with super sensitive skin who typically avoids fragranced skincare, I didn't consider this a drawback. Most impressively, the zero-waste packaging doesn't create plastic waste. Though it's worth noting that those without an empty container to transfer the product into might need to purchase a plastic case, potentially negating the eco-friendly aspect. As mentioned, this cream has significantly more oil than hydration, making it suitable only for those with dry skin. Not recommended for those seeking a cream that balances oil and moisture evenly. Due to its generous quantity, you'll need to transfer it into a spacious empty container. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin with sensitivity. Texture: Slightly rich consistency. It doesn't melt into the skin like water, but rather feels like it needs to be massaged in several times to be absorbed. I found the absorption to be average. Moisturizing power: I mainly used it as the final step in my nighttime skincare routine, applying it generously like a sleeping pack. It doesn't evaporate quickly and seems to maintain a firm, bouncy feel on the skin. There's a very slight, non-bothersome stickiness to it. Effectiveness: After applying it before bed and waking up the next morning, my skin didn't feel dry. Despite the rich and slightly sticky feel when applied, it didn't leave my skin overly oily! (It actually produced less oil than I expected.) There was no itching or suffocating feeling, and I felt like it improved my skin's hydration and strengthened its barrier. Scent: The most unsatisfactory aspect is the fragrance. I thought that being vegan, they might have paid less attention to the scent due to excluding harmful ingredients, but it smells like... wood glue or some industrial chemical. It's even unpleasant enough to be off-putting, so I really hope they improve the scent. Product packaging: With the aim of reducing waste, it came in a paper package without any separate opening or cap to control the flow. While it's an environmentally conscious design, I found it a bit challenging as I didn't have a container ready to transfer it into. I think this might be a point of contention for some, as you have to be willing to deal with the inconvenience. Quick summary: A moisturizer that's not too oily even for combination dehydrated skin! However, keep in mind that you'll need to prepare an empty container to use it, and the scent is really quite unpleasant... - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 9, 2022
Here's my review after using it for ten days on my combination dehydrated skin! The packaging: It comes in a pouch so you can transfer it to your own container. While it's a bit inconvenient to have to transfer it, I suppose it's the right direction if we're thinking about the environment! The container design could influence purchases, so it's a bit of a shame we can't see it directly. The texture: It's rich and perfect for use during seasonal changes like now. You can apply it lightly like a hydrating moisturizer, or layer it on thicker for a nourishing mask effect! Personally, when I applied it a bit more generously, my skin felt plump, radiant, and well-rested the next morning! Function/Effects: After using it consistently morning and night on my super sensitive skin that's prone to redness, I found its soothing effects to be excellent. There was hardly any artificial fragrance detectable. The rich texture feels like it creates a protective barrier, and while it's slightly sticky, it leaves my skin feeling soothed without any dryness! It seems to be really effective when your skin needs that extra nourishment. There's not really anything negative, except maybe the lack of a proper container...?! Having one would probably be better for consumers in terms of both usage and hygiene. When applied thickly, it puts other sleeping masks to shame.. I also applied it to areas prone to dryness like elbows and feet, and it works great! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 3, 2022
Scent: Great that it's unscented, so it won't divide opinions. Reassuring that it doesn't contain added fragrances. Texture: Slightly thick but spreads smoothly. If you apply all your skincare products before makeup and then this cream, it might pill a bit. Consider reducing your routine to just toner and this cream at the end for better results. Feels like it creates a final moisturizing barrier. Should provide good hydration during dry winter months. Those with oily skin might notice a slight increase in sebum. Ingredients: Appreciated that it's vegan, gentle, and can be used with peace of mind. The packaging... While it's great they're considering the environment, having to purchase refills and the fact that those refills might end up as waste anyway makes me wonder if we're really back at square one. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 28, 2022
My skin falls somewhere between combination and dry. To be honest, I've heard a lot of good things about vegan cosmetics, but this was my first time actually using one. Now I understand why everyone raves about them so much! First off, I love the texture. When I initially touched it, I thought, 'Oh, this feels quite rich...' But surprisingly, it feels powdery soft after application. When I run my finger over my skin after applying, it feels both soft and deeply hydrated! There's absolutely no stickiness, so I think even those with oily skin could use it comfortably. In short, it's both soft and moisturizing (which is legendary in itself). Makeup seems to apply well over it too. After toner, I lightly apply this, then my base and foundation, and my makeup goes on smoothly. It's gentle, causing zero blemishes. While I don't have particularly sensitive skin, I tend to react badly to products that don't suit me, whether they're samples or full-size. But this one causes no irritation at all, even for somewhat sensitive skin. It's reassuring to use. It seems to help clear out impurities too. I know it's not a good habit, but I sometimes squeeze out the blackheads on my nose. When I use this product, it feels like the sebum comes out more easily! It seems to have an effect of ripening the sebum, which is great! But honestly... even if it's vegan, I wish it came in a proper container. At first, I thought they had sent the wrong thing. Having to squeeze out the product to use it isn't great, either hygienically or for product management. I was lucky to win this in an event, but if I had bought it with my own money, I think I'd be annoyed every time I used it. I considered transferring it to a smaller container and refilling it later, but I'm worried the remaining product might harden. I'd need to buy a large container to fit all of it, which is fine if I have one at home, but if not, it's very inconvenient to have to go out and get one. It's a shame that such a legendary product loses points in this aspect. They've created an amazing cosmetic but dropped the ball on packaging.
