- It's my first time seeing a vegan cosmetic product with a refill pack. I transferred the contents to an empty container I had. I really appreciate their environmental consciousness. - Although it looks thick and viscous, it applies smoothly and provides excellent hydration. - It absorbs well into the skin. - Even when my sensitive skin was experiencing blemishes, it didn't cause any tingling sensation and felt soothing. - As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I noticed increased oiliness in my T-zone over time, though it was perfect for my dry U-zone. I'd recommend this product for those with dry skin. - The scent is unique, somewhat like a fermented medicinal smell (not to my personal liking). - On the flip side, not having a dedicated container might be a bit inconvenient. Also, I found the price a bit high for a refill format. It's great that you can reuse your empty cosmetic containers with this refill pack. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 10, 2022
As a first-time user of vegan cosmetics, I found the meaningful packaging refreshing! It was really effective for soothing my skin. While there were many comments about the packaging, since I received the product for testing, it felt a bit awkward to complain about any inconvenience. With a little trimming, it wasn't terribly difficult to use! I have combination dehydrated skin, so I was a bit worried about the rich texture. Although it wasn't as oily as I expected, those with oily skin might want to be cautious when using this product! If you apply it generously to areas that need extra hydration in the evening before bed, you'll notice significant soothing effects the next day! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
A cream with an overwhelming amount of oil compared to hydration, perfect for those with dry skin. Despite its thick and heavy texture, it's remarkably spreadable without pilling, even when applied generously. The finish is not sticky but rather smooth, and it absorbs quickly, so it's not particularly uncomfortable to use. The scent is reminiscent of old-fashioned bath emulsions, which might be challenging for those sensitive to fragrances. However, as someone with super sensitive skin who typically avoids fragranced skincare, I didn't consider this a drawback. Most impressively, the zero-waste packaging doesn't create plastic waste. Though it's worth noting that those without an empty container to transfer the product into might need to purchase a plastic case, potentially negating the eco-friendly aspect. As mentioned, this cream has significantly more oil than hydration, making it suitable only for those with dry skin. Not recommended for those seeking a cream that balances oil and moisture evenly. Due to its generous quantity, you'll need to transfer it into a spacious empty container. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
Hydration - 2/5 As it's a moisturizing cream, I focused on evaluating its hydrating power. True to its nature, this product had a noticeable richness. My basic skincare routine consists of Mediheal Tea Tree Soothing Pad -> Lush Toner -> Isoi Blemish Serum -> Joseon Vegan Moon Tiger Cream. I observed how long the hydration lasted with just this routine... Unfortunately, the moisturizing effect doesn't last long. After just a few hours, I could feel deep dryness setting in, and my skin quickly became parched. Considering its rich texture, the hydrating power of this product was disappointingly lacking. Blemishes I have super sensitive skin that quickly becomes red, bumpy, and itchy if I apply something that doesn't agree with it. When I applied this cream, although not severely, I experienced some redness and itching on my cheeks. Judging by the ingredients, I think the oil components didn't suit my skin. Hydration For a product marketed as a moisturizing cream, the hydration was too weak, and it felt overly rich, which was disappointing. I tried testing its moisturizing power for about two weeks, but it wasn't working out, so I've gone back to using my usual 'S' brand moisturizer. Packaging As a vegan cosmetic product, it comes in a recyclable paper pack, which is good for the environment. However, if you don't have an empty container, you'd need to buy one, so I'm not sure if it's truly beneficial for nature... I had an empty container, so I transferred the product into it and attached the ingredient sticker and name tag that came with it. Also, if you write the opening date and usage period on the lid, you can use it within the appropriate timeframe. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 9, 2022
I love that it's a vegan and zero-waste product. It definitely feels like there's less of a burden on my conscience, even after multiple purchases. The hydration is excellent! The cream has a rich, slightly thick texture that leaves my skin feeling well-moisturized after application. It didn't cause any blemishes on my skin after use! I think this gentle product would likely suit most skin types. Having to scoop the product out separately can be a bit of a hassle, and it doesn't seem very hygienic. Even after cleaning the empty container and wiping it with alcohol pads, there's still a lingering sense of unease. While it moisturizes well, it does feel quite rich on the skin. Using a hydrating serum before this product helps achieve a perfect balance of hydration and richness! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 8, 2022
This product definitely seems gentle on the skin. I didn't experience any irritation during or after application. It appears they haven't added any fragrances either. That's why I think it's an excellent cream for those with super sensitive skin. It feels particularly suitable for dry skin types rather than oily ones, as a final step in skincare to seal in moisture. I also really appreciate that they've used environmentally-friendly packaging. While it might be surprising to suddenly need your own container, you'd be surprised how often you can find uses for empty jars. The product feels like it sits on top of the skin rather than being absorbed. It has a somewhat rich texture, which might be why it doesn't seem to deeply penetrate the skin. Instead, it gives more of a coating effect as a final skincare step. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 6, 2022
Eco-friendly less-waste packaging Given how serious environmental pollution has become, many people are trying to reduce unnecessary consumption and minimize waste production. I occasionally use refill stations at zero-waste shops, but I haven't seen refills for facial creams yet. As I received this as part of the Hwahae Testers program, I was a bit flustered not having a suitable container on hand (I ended up using a zip-lock bag... haha). If this product becomes available in zero-waste shops, it would be great for those aiming for a less-waste or zero-waste lifestyle to purchase and use directly. Perfect hydration for cold weather The texture is rich but applies smoothly, creating a feeling of a moisturizing barrier on the skin. It's the kind of formula that those with dry skin will likely appreciate. Longevity and deep dryness Despite its rich formula, I felt deep dryness after a few hours. The Tiger Balm Cream seems best used as a finishing cream, with a solid skincare routine beforehand. Hygiene concerns While I mentioned the packaging direction as a positive point, refill stations usually have a system to sanitize containers brought by customers. With this product, you need to find your own container, sanitize it yourself, and then fill it with the cream, which raises some concerns about bacterial growth. I recommend this to those who need a rich moisturizing cream for the final step of their skincare routine!
